Napoleon Solo- Truthful (h)
The Man From U.N.C.L.E. One Shot
It always sucked to have someone pick on you and make you upset, but a lot of the time you ignored it as you knew it was only words.
Technically, the words couldn't hurt you and you'd be fine but every so often they would get through your head.
It always hurt more because it was around the Christmas season. The season that you loved ever so much and hated for it to be ruined.
Your best friend, Napoleon, knew how it could get to you and he was begging you to quit your job but you refused.
He had been begging you for most of the year, and you wouldn't listen to him. You just couldn't listen to him.
You weren't going to let them win, nor were you going to allow them the satisfaction of you leaving all because of them insulting your weight.
Napoleon had listened to you, as he always did, and told you that you could move in with him if you left your job and he'd look after you but you still refused.
He had been your close friend for a long time, you knew what he did and never held it against him but you knew you could never do anything more than be his friend.
That wasn't to say you had never thought about it.
There was no denying that Napoleon was extremely attractive, as well as a kind-hearted man but also a somewhat playboy.
You weren't going to subject him to a relationship with you.
He was never going to be one to get tied down and you weren't going to get him to be that kind of person.
You'd been sat behind your desk all day, minding your own business and doing the tasks that your boss had asked of you.
Due to it being close to Christmas Day, your boss had been working everyone to the bone and making you finish the very few last tasks.
Despite you not bothering anyone else, your co-workers still found the time to make horrid comments.
When you went off for your break, you didn't grab anything that you could eat – despite what your colleagues were taunting – you went to sit in a local coffee shop, holding a hot chocolate that was making you warm up in the cold weather.
"Hey there Doll," you heard someone say so you looked up.
You saw Napoleon walk up, and he sat down next to you.
"Now what're you doing sat here all by yourself?"
"Not wanting to be back in my office."
He sighed and wrapped an arm around your shoulder. "I told you to leave."
You shook your head but leant into his touch. "You've been telling me the same thing all year Napoleon," you reminded him. "I can't."
"Yes, you can Y/N," he told you again. "Please, you know I will support you."
"You don't do that for someone who isn't your wife."
He chuckled. "You could be my wife...one day."
You rolled your eyes. "Don't talk like that Napoleon."
"Don't talk like what? Telling the truth? It is the giving season you know"
"It's not the truth and you know it."
When you went to take a drink of your hot chocolate, Napoleon placed his hands over yours on the mug causing you to look back at him.
"Why are you here?"
"Because I know you hate it there and figured you'd need someone," he explained in a soft voice.
"If I left, I would not be able to support myself."
"It would not be as if you couldn't get another job. You would be getting away from the comments," he explained. "Let me do something that's fitting for this time of year, spend Christmas with me and leave your job."
He took your hand and intertwined your fingers together.
"We have always been best friends Y/N, but I can't not say anything to you," he breathed out. "I have tried to get you to see things my way, for me to support you and you can get away from those awful people in there."
You sighed and he pressed a kiss to the top of your head.
"We could be married one day. I would support you no matter what, even before you were my wife and I was your husband."
You smiled at him. "Do you mean all this?"
He chuckled. "I will always be truthful to you."
Without him saying anything else, he leant down and pressed a kiss to your lips.
The two of you were both smiling when you pulled away.
"Now, I feel like I need to find a way to quit my job."
