Jeremy had been your longest friend and he had always been there for you.

There wasn't one thing that you couldn't talk to him about.

Whenever you needed him, he would be there.

However, Elena wasn't such a fan of you.

Whilst Jeremy's parents had absolutely loved you, as did Jenna, Elena had some form of grudge against you.

You'd never understood why but Jeremy was adamant that he wasn't going to let his sister stop you being friends.

You could only hope that he would keep up that view, due to the two of you having recently started a relationship.

There was no defining point to the beginning of you two being together. The two of you had always acted as if you were dating, but without ever stating and dating others at the same time.

You saw the damage that Bonnie had done to him, she made him happy for a short while but when she decided to leave him, she gave no real thought to him.

Jenna was aware of the shift in yours and Jeremy's relationship whilst Elena was yet to realise or to be told.

Because your parents didn't mind, you had been allowed to stay at Jeremy's house from Friday after school until the following Monday and then you'd need to go back home after school on the Monday.

With it being a Friday night, Jenna was going to be on a date with Alaric so you and Jeremy would have the house to yourselves.

You were in the kitchen getting some popcorn, as you were going to watch a movie, when Jeremy came up behind you and wrapped his arms around your waist.

"I said I'd get the popcorn Sweetie, I didn't want you to have to move."

You rolled your eyes as you poured the popcorn out of the bag and into the bowl.

"You were comfy under the blanket."

You laughed at his words. "I know I was but popcorn is more important."

It was then his turn to laugh. "Come on Sweetie, I want to start the movie."

Jeremy grabbed the bowl, and then your hand to pull you along behind him.

The two of you sat down on the sofa, and Jeremy grabbed the blanket whilst you cuddled into his side.

When you were halfway through the first movie, Elena came home just as Jeremy pressed a kiss to the top of your head.

"Why is she here?" Elena asked Jeremy, placing her hands on her hips when she walked into the living room.

Jeremy sighed, turning to face his sister. "Jenna said she could stay over."

"Well she'll have fun on the sofa then."

"Actually, she is sharing with me."

Elena scoffed before shaking her head. "No, she's not. She's not allowed."

"Elena, if I want my girlfriend to stay with me then she can."

"Girlfriend?!"

You laughed lightly. "That would be me, yes."

"Who exactly do you think you are to be dating my brother?"

"I've been his best friend for the past ten or eleven years I believe."

When Elena went to say something else, Jeremy stood up. "Elena, please, just leave us to watch the movie and go back to Stefan or something."

She didn't say anything else, but glared at you before storming out of the living room.

"That went well," Jeremy came and sat back down next to you as he spoke.

"Well? She hates me."

He shook his head. "She doesn't hate you Sweetie."

"She has always hated me Jeremy. Don't lie."

He sighed, placing his arm around your shoulder and pulled you into him. "She is not a part of our relationship. Our relationship consists of me and you, not my idiotic sister, okay?"

"Just don't leave me because of her."

He chuckled as he pressed a kiss to your head. "I could say the same to you Sweetie."
