Jake Brockman- Colour Scheme (h)

Outnumbered One Shot

It was strange to be engaged to someone but not yet living with them.

You would've thought that after four years of dating, and a year and a half of being engaged you would have a little apartment together or maybe even a house but it hadn't happened yet.

Of course, you weren't complaining, it was a charming thought to think that once you were married you would be able to finally move in together and have a place that was your own.

Somewhere to decorate as you pleased, to make your home no matter what.

Jake was still living at home, as were you, and at twenty-one it was getting on Jake's nerves to still be living with his younger siblings but you knew that he enjoyed it really.

You had been staying with Jake for just over a month, going back home every so often to grab some clothes – you had siblings too so it was nice to get away from them.

Your fiancé was sat next to you at the dining room table, whilst you had papers practically everywhere due to trying to get some wedding planning done.

"What about gold?" you suggested, wanting to sort a colour scheme for everything.

Jake smiled, wrapping his arm around your shoulder "Babe, I've told you, we can go with whatever you want" he recited the words he had told you every single time you suggested something.

You groaned, leaning back in your chair "That's not the point. You're supposed to help me" you complained.

Jake began to play with the ends of your hair "Babe I am helping" he said in his defence.

You shook your head out of stubbornness "You're not" you stated, "You're just agreeing with me" you reminded him.

"Happy wife, happy life" he spoke in a sing-songy voice with a smirk on his face.

You rolled your eyes but couldn't avoid smiling "I'm not your wife yet" you told him.

He pouted, pulling the puppy dog eyes, "Why not?" he questioned.

"We don't even have a venue yet you dolt" you ran a hand through your hair out of frustration whilst talking.

Jake moved to place a hand on your cheek, getting you to actually look at him, "Then let's go and search for one" he suggested as if it was the simplest thing in the world.

You groaned once again "We were trying to sort out a colour scheme" you stated to remind him.

A confused expression crossed your fiancé's face "And you said gold" he chimed in.

"And another colour needs to go with it" you slightly leant into his palm whilst you spoke.

Jake had his thinking face on for a moment "Red?" he spoke up with a possibility.

You shook your head "Not Christmas" you stated, not wanting your wedding to be Christmas themed in summer even though the holiday was great.

"Blue?" he suggested, his eyes lighting up.

You laughed as you rolled your eyes "Stop naming primary colours" you tried to glare a little sternly when you talked "Blue could work though" you confirmed more to yourself than to him.

A smile crossed his face, his thumb rubbing your cheek ever so gently "See? I do help you" he commented.

"Only because I make you" your words caused him to chuckle.

He leant in to kiss you, his hand still on your cheek, "No. Because I love you" he breathed out against your lips.

Your cheeks were flushed as you pulled away "I love you too Brockman"
