Hayes Morrison- Orders (c)
Conviction One Shot
It wasn't unusual for Hayes Morrison to fight what Wallace had said. Actually, it was practically a daily occurrence, if you heard Wallace give an order, you knew for certain that Hayes would give the opposite. She liked to fight against authority, probably due to being raised as the daughter of the president, however it did interfere with your work.
Your job involved trying to do the best to do what was right on the behalf of your client, however Hayes sometimes lost sight of that. Granted Wallace could be equally blind to the fact and going against authority did sometimes help, it did put your whole team in hot water. You knew that Sam was on the edge of putting in a formal complaint against her and Wallace due to how unprofessional their relationship and interactions were becoming. Although you were concerned about the two of them, putting in a complaint wouldn't help, if anything the CIU would be disbanded and there would be a high chance you would all lose your jobs.
Hayes had once again told you all that the directions that Wallace had given you earlier in the day was going to be ignored. It did bother you all. Maxine made an offhand comment that Hayes ignored; Sam grimaced unpleasantly; Frankie tried to keep his head down even though you could notice his frown; whilst you knew that Tess would keep a somewhat cheery demeanour even if she didn't agree with Hayes directions.
Enough had become enough. You stood up from the table, walking over to Hayes whom was writing on the board about the case, even though it was a case that Wallace had specifically said no to.
"Hayes," you frowned, trying to act as if you had some form of authority or confidence even though you had none of either.
She turned to you, cocking an eyebrow.
"We are concerned about your decision making. I understand that you are right a lot of the time, and although it isn't always conventional, it is for the best that we do what is right by our client. However constantly going against Wallace isn't doing us well. It may give you a kick, but you're putting all our necks on the chopping block," you tried to explain however you weren't completely sure how much she listened to.
"Look Y/N, may I remind you I majored in 'Doing Whatever The Hell I Want', with a minor in 'Telling Other People What To Do'. I failed out of 'Following Orders' after about ten minutes," she smirked. "I'm in charge here Y/N. If you don't agree with the way I run things, then you should probably find a different job. So, either sit down and be quiet or leave."
Your eyes widened. That was not the way you had hoped things would go. You quickly moved back to the table, submissively sitting down where you had stood up from, hanging your head in shame from losing the point of you talking to her in the first place.
