The Proposal One Shot

When you moved from Britain to New York, you hardly imagined the fact that a few months later you would be on a plane to Alaska with your boyfriend.

You'd only managed to meet Andrew through you moving into the apartment across the hall from him – you were well aware that it was an insanely cliché way of meeting, but you liked it.

However, you weren't expecting Andrew to ask you to go with him to meet his family, back in his home town, at his Gammy's 90th birthday.

Of course, you weren't going to say no and you were looking forward to seeing where Andrew grew up.

Whilst the two of you were on the plane, Andrew slipped his arm around your shoulder "We'll be landing soon" he told you.

You looked over at him "You promise you'll give me a tour?" you quizzed with a smile on your face.

He chuckled and leant down to press a kiss to your hair "Of course" he stated causing your smile to grow.

Soon enough, the plane landed and Andrew grabbed your hand as the two of you got off the plane.

Almost immediately you noticed Andrew's Mum and his Grandma Annie, aka Gammy, waving and yelling for him.

Andrew groaned but still had a smile on his face when he saw his family.

The two of you made your way over to them, with Andrew being pulled into a hug straight away.

Andrew's Mum then turned to you with a smile on her face "Oh, you must be Y/N" she stated, "I'm Grace, it's so lovely to meet you" she pulled you into a gentle hug as she spoke.

Andrew came to stand by your side again "Shall we head off?" he suggested.

Both Grace and Grandma Annie nodded in agreement, stating that they would go and get the car whilst you and Andrew went to get your bags.

Once you were all in the car, Andrew intertwined your fingers together.

"Are you sure it's okay that I'm here? I don't want to crash anything" you cautiously spoke up.

Grandma Annie turned around from the passenger seat and shook her head "Oh don't be silly" she told you, a smile on her face "We're just all happy that Andrew has finally brought someone home" she explained.

A few minutes later, you all got out of the car and went down to a boat on the docks.

"The boat will take us to the house" Andrew commented when he saw the confused expression on your face.

During the boat ride, you opted for admiring the scenery whilst leaning back into Andrew.

You arrived at the house, and Andrew helped you out of the boast as Grandma Annie and Grace walked ahead.

You laughed slightly and shook your head at the size of the house "Who is your family Drew?" you jokingly asked.

Your boyfriend chuckled, putting his arm around your shoulder and pulling you into his side "Nothing special Love, but you could be a part of it soon"
