Steve Rogers (For Kara_Koehler)
You were an avenger.
You had been for a year now.
With your power of electricity manipulation, you were pretty strong.
That didn't stop your older sister from acting overprotective.
And you were petrified of disappointing her.
She was coming to visit tomorrow and you were on edge.
You had been feeding her lies about a fictional boyfriend.
It was the only way to stop her from setting you up with all the men she saw.
The first thing she wanted to do was meet the "man in your life."
You were on the couch, your head buried in your hands.
You were trying to figure out what options you had.
You could lie and say he had to go on a mission.
Or you could convince Fury to send you on a mission.
You would still have to face her someday.
You felt the couch dip next to you.
You looked up to see Steve Rogers, your best friend.
You got an idea.
"Is everything alright?" he asked concerned.
You grinned at him.
"It is now," you said.
He looked confused.
You gave him your signature puppy eyes.
"Would you do the biggest favor for me, Steve?" you asked.
"Sure. Anything. What do you need?" he nodded.
"I told my sister I have a boyfriend so she'd stop trying to set me up with people, but now she's coming to visit and I'm in too deep. I need a fake boyfriend ASAP," you blurted out.
"So you want me to find someone to play your boyfriend?" he questioned.
"No. I need you to play my boyfriend," you winced.
He raised his eyebrows.
"I-Uh-I, yeah. Okay," he agreed.
You hugged him tightly.
"You are seriously the best!" you squealed.
You kissed his cheek.
He was blushing.
You went to the kitchen to see if your sister landed.
When she did, she was supposed to text you instructions for dinner.
The next day, you and Steve met with your sister at an Olive Garden.
She was there with her long time boyfriend, who bored you to death.
He was an accountant.
Your sister had been with him since high school.
You always hoped they would split up because she deserved so much better.
Your sister was an adventurer.
With her dull boyfriend, she was bound to the house or the stores around it.
You could see she was unhappy.
You wanted to crush him.
"Hey, Y/S/N!" you greeted happily, hugging her tightly.
She pulled away and shoved her boyfriend, Richard at you.
"Dick," you said through gritted teeth, glaring.
"Y/N," he nodded.
"This is my boyfriend, Steve," you introduced.
"Hello," he said, shaking your sister's hand and Richard's.
You all sat in a booth.
"You didn't tell me you were dating the Captain America!" Y/S/N winked.
"Hard to believe you could date anyone at all," Richard added.
Richard hated you, too.
Probably because of Thanksgiving three years ago.
He had said your sister was dressed like a slut, and you broke his nose.
Your sister predictably forgave him, but you had planned dozens of ways to kill him.
He had probably done the same.
"Well, I guess I'm a lucky girl," you replied, trying to keep the peace.
"I think I'm the lucky one," Steve said, wrapping an arm around you, "You have saved me dozens of times. You're one of the few people I trust to have my back."
You blushed.
You did have a crush on Steve, but you did your best to hide it.
You didn't want to ruin your friendship.
But when you asked him for this favor, you hadn't expected such flattering.
You would melt into a puddle before dinner even arrived.
You all placed your orders.
Steve kept his arm around you.
"How did you meet?" Y/S/N asked.
"I was a SHIELD agent and he was stuck in an ice cube," you laughed.
"You were there as I thawed," Steve continued, "After I woke up, they wanted me to reintegrate into today's society. Y/N was assigned to help me."
"Wow, you must have no clue how to do anything," Richard chuckled.
You clenched your fist and Steve held you closer, as if he sensed your anger and was trying to calm you.
"What do you do for a living, Richard?" Steve questioned.
"I'm an accountant," he replied, smugly.
"One of the best, always going on business trips," Y/S/N bragged.
Steve hummed.
"You must love the trips," Steve said to her.
"Oh no. I don't go," she sighed.
He looked surprised.
"Well, if you want to take of your trip of your own, let me know. I have a couple of people who owe me favors I could call," Steve offered.
You saw a shining in your sister's eyes.
"Oh, she won't be going anywhere," Richard spoke for her.
The light was gone as fast as it had appeared.
"The offer is always on the table," Steve said to your sister, ignoring Richard.
You kissed his cheek.
He was the best.
Another waitress came by.
"Oh, someone already took our orders," you said.
She took a cup of water from the next table and dumped it on Richard.
You all gasped.
"You're cheating on me, you bastard!" she spat.
Your sister stood up.
Steve did too, so you could stand by her.
"I'm his girlfriend of 12 years! If anything, I'm the one he's cheating on!" She shouted.
The waitress looked horrified.
"I am so sorry! I had no idea he was taken! I just- I can't- I'm so so sorry," the waitress sobbed, running away in tears.
Richard grabbed your sister's arm, yanking her towards the door.
"Come on. We're leaving," he ordered.
Steve grabbed him by the nape of the neck.
"Let her go, Dick," he demanded, calmly but firmly.
Richard let your sister go, and you pushed her behind you.
Steve made Richard face you.
"Ladies first," he smirked.
You had no problem swinging your fist across that douchebag's face.
Steve shoved him against the wall.
"Stay away from Y/S/N and stay away from Y/N. I see you again, I'll punch you in the face," he threatened.
Richard ran out.
Y/S/N hugged Steve tightly, thanking him repeatedly.
She hugged you next.
"Marry that man," she said loudly.
"I just might," you said, grabbing Steve and kissing him deeply.
He kissed you back, just as hard.
"Glad we did that," he commented.
You nodded in agreement.
"Y/S/N, you'll be moving in with me," you declared.
You knew Tony wouldn't mind
"And I'll drive by the house with you tomorrow to help you pack your stuff and bring it over," Steve stated.
"Guess now I need a perfect boyfriend," your sister sighed, tossing her ring in the trash.
"I have one in mind," you beamed, "His name is Clint Barton."
Steve high fived you.
"So, about that marriage," he mentioned as you all exited the Olive Garden.
"You actually want to marry me?" you asked, shocked.
"We could always elope," he smirked, holding your hand.
"I'll be your witness!" you sister exclaimed.
Steve looked at you, waiting for an answer.
You laughed.
"Let's do it!"
