Richard Castle (For hwhovian)

You hid in your closet.
You had discovered your parents, dead, a few minutes ago.
You had called 911, panicking and trying not to drop to your knees.
You noticed some things that stuck out to you.
Things were out of order and a third place was set at the table.
You hadn't told your parents you were coming, so who was that third place for?
You turned you panicking into focus and took pictures of the "crime scene."
That's what your time in the Police Academy had taught you.
You had just graduated.
That's when you heard the door open and two sets of footprints enter.
You thought that maybe it'd be the criminal or criminals who had taken your parents from you.
So you hid in the closet, trying to think of a plan.
Before you could settle on one of your many ideas, a shadow interrupted you.
You watched someone approach your hiding place.
You tried to shrink back further, and covered your mouth and nose with your hand to try and smother your breathing.
The closet door was thrown open and a gun was pointed at your face.
You screamed and closed your eyes.
"Police!" you heard.
You opened your eyes and looked up in relief.
"Oh thank God," you said.
"Stand and put your hands behind your back," you were ordered.
You stood.
"What, but I-," you tried to explain yourself.
"Hands behind your back!" you heard again.
You had no choice but to comply.
You were put in the back of a police car.
Before you knew it, you were in an interrogation room.
This was not how you wanted to end up in one.
You were handcuffed to the table in front of you and you had your head on the table.
You looked up when the door opened.
A man and a woman entered.
The woman looked like a proper detective, while the guy looked disheveled.
"Hello Y/N Y/L/N," the female said, uncuffing you.
You rubbed your wrists.
"Seems like there's been a mix-up," she said, "I'm Detective Kate Beckett and this is my partner, Richard Castle."
The guy waved.
You noticed she hadn't said "detective."
"Want to tell us what happened before you were arrested?" she asked, sitting across from you.
"I was going to surprise my parents. I wanted to visit, seeing as how I moved for school and we could only call. But when i went inside, the door was unlocked and I found them on the floor. They were... were dead. I called 911 and that's when i noticed things weren't right. My mom organized everything. So when i noticed things weren't in order, I took pictures. They're on my phone you took. I also noticed a third table setting, so my parents were obviously tricked into letting the person in. There might be DNA on the silverware or something," you shrugged.
Beckett and Castle smiled at each other.
"What?" you asked, "Why are you smiling? My parents are dead."
"Because you're going to help us find your parents' murderer. And when that happens, you're skipping training and becoming a detective, just like me," Beckett smiled.
"He's not a detective?" you asked, pointing at Castle.
"It's a long story," he said, taking your hand and standing you up, "We'll talk about it as we work."
The three of you left.
You found your parents' killer the next day.
It was a homeless man with some sort of mental illness.
Your parents had taken pity on him and tried to help him clean up a little.
His mind warped them into an enemy and he killed them in what he thought was self defense.
You had him locked in a mental hospital, permanently.
You felt bad, but you felt worse without you parents.
You could have helped.
It had been a year and a few months since those gut-wrenching events and you were now the third partner of Castle and Beckett.
And you had a huge crush on Castle, but you hid it so well.
You believed Beckett and Castle were dating, because they seemed so close and acted like a married couple.
You were discussing your plans for the night.
"I'm eating chinese food and catching up on my TV shows," Beckett said, sitting back.
"I'm going to try and work on a new book," Castle said, nodding to himself.
"I'm having a Firefly marathon," i smiled to myself, "Eat tons of junk food and just spend the night quoting the characters."
Our phones vibrated, pulling us out of our excitement.
We looked at them and groaned.
You were being called to a crime scene.
"Looks like our plans will have to wait," Beckett sighed.
"Not if we finish early," Castle pointed out.
We all looked at each other before sprinting to the car.
We arrived to the crime scene a few minutes later, thanks to Castle's driving.
When you looked, a girl was crying to an officer with a notepad.
"What happened?" I heard Beckett ask the officer.
"The girl was visiting from school to find her parents dead. It's... It's pretty bad," the cop said.
The three of you stepped inside the house.
The couple was positioned in such a way, you had a flashback to your own parents.
But they were killed with a single bullet to the head.
They were swimming in blood from other gunshot wounds.
Your hand covered your mouth and Castle led you outside.
"Y/N, are you okay?" he asked.
You nodded.
"Sorry, it just...," you trailed off, tears falling.
Castle hugged you tight.
"I know. Come on, the sooner we solve this, the sooner we get off," he pointed out.
You nodded.
"Nathan Fillion is waiting for me," you tried to joke.
You went inside.
"You alright?" Beckett asked.
"Yeah, sorry," you sighed.
"What do you see?" she asked.
You looked around, confused.
"I thought she said she didn't arrive until after they were dead," you said.
"I did," the girl said.
"Then why is your lipstick on the glass cup? And you have a gravy stain on your shirt?" you asked, pointing at her and then pointing at the table.
The girl's eyes widened and she turned to run, but a cop stopped her.
"Killing your parents? You're going away for a very long time," Beckett said cuffing her.
She turned to you as a cop put her in the back of one of the cars.
"Go home, Y/N. You did good. You solved it before we could even blink," she nodded.
You turned, but Castle stopped you.
"Oh, um, thanks for earlier, Castle," you blushed.
"No problem, Y/N," he smirked, "And please, call me Rick."
"I should be getting home, Ca- Rick," you corrected, "Beckett's orders."
"No problem, I'll join you," he said, walking with you.
"Won't Beckett be upset?" you asked as you walked.
"Why would Kate be upset?" he asked, looking confused.
You looked just as confused.
"Aren't you two dating?" you questioned.
"NO!" he said, loudly, "You and I are dating."
You raised an eyebrow.
"Oh really, since when?" you asked.
"For a month now, when i asked you to be my girlfriend over pizza at the office," he stated.
"I must not have been in that day," you teased.
"You know, I might have asked it in my head and thought I picked up a telepathic response," he said, blushing.
"It's okay," you laughed, "We'll just start dating right now."
You two entered your apartment.
"And we're making it official by marathoning an old series," he laughed.
"One of the best!" you said, defensively.
Before you knew it, you were cuddling together on the couch, about to watch the second episode of Firefly.
"I like it," he nodded.
"I knew you would," you smiled.
"Nathan Fillion looks kinda like me," he pointed out.
You looked at him and then back at the TV.
"I don't see it."
