Security Wolves (Zootopia)
Hello, my dear readers! Here's another Zootopia article for you. Man! I'm just pumping out these chapters suddenly. Blame my sudden inspiration and motivation on my recent re-watching of Zootopia.
I do apologize for the long wait since the last article. I had planned on writing and posting another one soon after the previous Zootopia article had been posted, but then I was hit from all sides with various things. As a result of this, I haven't really had the energy to come back to write these articles, and it has now been just over a month-and-a-half. For somebody who has many topics to write about, I'm not really doing a great job posting regularly. I'll try to post more often — at least once every two weeks if I can.
Anyway — on to today's topic!

Security Wolves
So, yes, we're back, and it's about the Security Wolves. Again. Why? Because I want to (LOL). In fact, I will be writing a few more articles concerning these Wolves. However, that being said, after this article, I will be moving on to other fandoms — like HTTYD, Narnia, LOTR, Guardians of Ga'Hoole, Endless Ocean, some Nintendo Wii games, etc, etc. Especially HTTYD, since the third movie has finally come out on DVD and I am BURSTING with a bunch of article ideas concerning this third and final (boo!) film of the HTTYD franchise (good night, sweet prince). And also Narnia and Guardians of Ga'Hoole, since I have written no articles for those fandoms yet.
Anyway, I'm digressing. Back to the Wolves.
Remember what I said in the last article about why there are Wolves as security guards? Well, I will hopefully dive into more detail concerning this topic (though I'm not sure how much more I can say that hasn't already been said in the last one).
Why Wolves? And why did the Mayor hire them? These questions will be answered in this article. (If there are questions that I've missed, please let me know and I'll make a Part 2 of this article.)
Why Are Wolves Hired As Security Guards?
I had explained this in part in the last article, but it doesn't hurt for me to explain it again and in further detail.
Why Wolves?
Well, personally, I don't think that's a tough question to answer. For one, they're Wolves. Unlike many mammals in Zootopia, Wolves are team-players and work best in a pack-group, allowing them to work together cohesively, efficiently, and professionally like a well-oiled machine.
This isn't hard to imagine since we see Wolves in a lot of important and pack-oriented occupations such as the Police Department and Private Security Firms (like the Wolves hired by Mayor Lionheart) — and I wouldn't be surprised if they were also prison guards, military personnel (if this world even has one), construction, factory workers, and other important occupations.
I mean, it's no different from the Wolves in Kung Fu Panda 2. They were the Imperial Guard of the Royal Peacock Dynasty in China for a LONG time, before Lord Shen corrupted them and made them do terrible, terrible things. And caused their tragic, violent, and unfortunate end. :'(
Anyway, I'm digressing again. Another reason is that Wolves have a strict hierarchy and social structure and are — for the most part — obedient to whoever is their Alpha (again, as seen with the Security Guards and the Wolf Officers of the ZPD). Kinda like the army. Which isn't surprising, since much of the time, those who retire from the military end up in PD, FD, MD, and PSF (Private Security Firm) positions. Same with those who serve in the FBI, CIA, ICE, etc, etc.
Now, I don't believe for a second that, since we only see Wolves as security guards, that they're the only ones doing it. Not saying that at all.
For instance, there's a female pig as a prison warden at the end of the movie credits. Granted, she's wearing a police uniform, and is part of the ZPD, but still. I'm pretty sure that there are a lot of mammals who aren't predators who have security occupations. After all, 90% of the population is Prey. So it won't be surprising at all if there are a LOT of Prey security guards as well as Predators, like, say Rhinos, Buffalo, Elephants, Hippos, and other giant, scary-looking mammals. (Though, personally, I think Hippos should be in the Predator group because they're dangerous enough to be so).
Why Did Mayor Lionheart Hire Wolves?
Again, this isn't a tough question to answer. In fact, I'm fairly certain that all of you already know the answer to this, and I'm just writing a redundant question.
There are a few reasons why Mayor Lionheart hired the Wolves:
1) They are part of a private security firm, and hence, by contract, aren't tied to any political leanings, and are bound by the client-confidentiality-part of their contracts from uttering anything concerning their job and client. Meaning they can't — and won't — say why they're guarding an abandoned hospital nor what's inside the hospital nor who hired them. It also means that they won't be poking their noses where they don't belong.
2) Also, since they're a private security firm, it means that the Mayor would be able to keep his operation on the down-low without drawing any unwanted attention. After all, if he used the ZPD to guard the abandoned hospital, it definitely would've raised eyebrows and his scheme would've definitely been discovered sooner.
3) They're Predators. What better mammal group for a Predator to hire to guard others "sick" Predators than a bunch of security guards that are Predators? Since only Predators were getting affected, it makes sense that he wouldn't want anyone that was Prey to discover this and cause a scandal and a panic (and quickly ending his career and reputation). It also makes sense why the doctor that was treating the "wild" Predators was also a Predator, being a Badger.
I'm sure there are other reasons that I could list on here, but I think that I've basically covered everything. If I DID miss anything, please let me know in the comments and I'll add them into this article.

Conclusion
In conclusion, I think it is safe to say that if you ever want something guarded, hire Wolves (unless Disney pays them to play stupid and let trespassers break into a high-security zone and take whatever was in there — all for the sake of a few laughs). And the real main reason why Mayor Lionheart hired the Wolf Security Guards is because they were Predators. Though I'm sure you guys already knew that and I'm just slow on the uptake — despite having watched it thirty times! LOL
I hope you guys enjoyed this article and that, despite this being old knowledge, that you've at the very least have gained some entertainment from this and that it was refreshing to return to it.
Also, I'm sorry if I talk about Wolves a lot, regardless of the fandom. I can't help it. Wolves are life. And you're going to see me talk a lot more about them in the future. However, I will put that — as well asZootopia — on pause while I work on other Fandom articles like HTTYD, Narnia, Guardians of Ga'Hoole, and others.
If you guys have any article topic ideas or suggestions that you'd like me to write, please let me know. I'm always happy to take them into consideration.
Have a great week!
It's been a hustle sweethearts! ;-)
