Do You Trust Me?
Percy's POV
I was a bit surprised at Willa's willingness to just pick up and go to help her friend. I mean, I did that all the time but I was a demigod and she was mortal. I wasn't aware mortals just spontaneously decide to go rescue missing friends halfway around the world.
Willa quickly packed enough necessities for 8 days. Then she added her personal belongings. She added a box of toiletries, a small stuffed animal, and some candy. Then she started typing an email back to this Hermione girl.
I had asked her what it said and she'd replied, "It says, 'Hello Hermione, I am Willa, a friend of Philby's. I am aware they are missing and my friend Percy and I are going to Britain to find them. I would be interested in finding you once we get there and meeting up. If you could give me an address or a phone number, that would be fantastic. Thank you for emailing me.' " I frowned. "Well, you could be a little less tech-supportyish," I suggested. Willa glared at me.
A moment later, she stood up. "Come with me," she commanded. "Why?" I asked. "Well, if you're going to do this with me, then there are some things you need to know. And I'm going to tell you and treat you for ice cream before we leave if you come with me," she told me. "Speaking of which," I started, "How are we going to get there?" She responded, "I'll let you know when I figure it out." And she walked out the door with me close behind.
Philby's POV
I wished I had my friend Finn's ability to go all-clear quickly (All-clear is a state where us holograms can turn into pure light and pass through stuff. Finn is the leader of the keepers). Unfortunately, for me that took concentration and NO FEAR. I was definitely not meeting either requirement.
So I gave up. It would help us escape but then I would have to explain, you know, how I can pass through the bars (and why I hadn't already). And I'd be willing to tell them except I'd signed a contract against telling anyone. So we stayed in the cage.
I wished I could pick the lock. But I was unable to do that either. Finally, Rachel broke the silence. "Ok," she said, "I swear I would have told you this if I thought it was important, but now that we've been kidnaped, I think it really does matter. And it would be unfair not to tell you. So here it goes..."
Willa's POV
I owed Percy an explanation. I had been ordering him around all day. I hoped I could make up for it by explaining everything. I didn't care bout no stinking contract. And if that didn't work, well, that's why I was getting him ice cream. The keepers all liked eating large amounts of ice cream so I figured he would be the same. He kind of reminded me of my friend Finn. He was nice, but looked like he could be a real enemy in combat.
Percy followed me warily. He held a pen in his hand, like it would protect him. We arrived at my favorite ice cream place. "What do you want?" I asked him. He hesitated before he said, "Blue Moon ice cream. With blue sprinkles." I ordered that and a vanilla ice cream with hot fudge for me. We got a table at the far end, away from everyone else.
"This better be a really good story," Percy told me. "It is. I'm not sure you'll believe me but for the sake of the story, say it's real for a while, if you will," I replied. "Plu-leez, nothing is unbelievable to me," he said smugly. I wasn't so sure but I started telling him anyway,
"About 6 years ago, Disney held an addition to model to have holograms made to look like the 5 who made it. These holograms would guide guests around Disney World. I auditioned and made it. Philby did too. The others are Finn, Maybeck, and Charlene. Jess and Amanda joined later but I'm getting ahead of myself. So the holograms were put in place in the park. Thing is, when we fell asleep, we became the holograms in Disney World. Like, we were still asleep at home, but our consciousness was controlling the holograms like they were our bodies. So then, this old imagineer named Wayne told the 5 of us (there were five of us at that point) that we needed to solve a riddle. Solving the riddle was the key to defeating a band of rebel Disney villains. And we solved the riddle and continued to fight the villains.
"So there you have it," I concluded. "Ok, I'll admit that is pretty unbelievable," Percy said. "I can prove it," I offered. "Ok then," he breathed. I held out my hand and focused on going all clear (the state where I can pass through objects). He tried to grab my hand but it went right through mine. He tried again with the same result.
"Wow," Percy marveled. He paused for a moment. "There's probably something I should tell you too," he said. "Go for it," I told him. "Well, the Greek gods are real. I'm the son of Poseidon. Children of gods are called demigods. There is a camp for demigods called Camp Half-Blood. And I can prove this," he told me. Then he gestured towards the drinking fountain. Suddenly, it turned on by itself. I had it admit it was pretty cool.
"Impressive," I said. "No do you happen to be able to get us to Britain quickly with your powers?" I asked. Percy grinned at me, "I sure do."
Ron's POV
Rachel started, "So this is going to sound crazy but here it goes. The summer camp I go to is called Camp Half-Blood. It is a camp for demigods, or children if the Greek gods. I know this sounds crazy. And I'm not a demigod. I'm a mortal but I'm also the oracle. I tell prophesies. I can't control it and I can only do it when there is a demigod to hear it present. You don't have to believe me. But it's true." We sat in silence for a while.
"Screw the contract," Philby said suddenly, "About 6 years ago, Disney held an addition to model to have holograms made to look like the 5 who made it. These holograms would guide guests around Disney World. I auditioned and made it. The others are Finn, Maybeck, Willa, and Charlene. So there you have it," he concluded. We sat in silence for a little while more.
"Ok, fine," I relented, "The reason you couldn't come to our house is because we are wizards. Like, magic powers wizards. Unfortunately, I can't cast any spells because I don't have my wand. If I did, we would be out of here by now. Or we would be blown to smithereens. I'm not really good at spells." We sat in silence once again.
"So how do we get out?" Philby asked. "Seriously?!" Rachel said, "We've just been told a bunch of impossible stuff is real and you don't even care? Do you even believe all this?" He nodded. "Yeah, I believe it. But we still have to get out. Oracle, hologram, wizard, or normal person, we have to escape. Even more so because all bet we all have powerful enemies who'd love to kill us. I know I do. So how do we escape?" He asked. We sat in silence once again. Then I said, "I might have an idea."
