She was walking out to her car, saying her final good bye to Mike when she saw it. The sun was rising, so it wasn't as creepy as it could have been.

There, tucked in the blades of her windshield wipers was a note, a little sheet of white paper folded up neatly. She plucked it from its hiding spot and unfolded it.

She froze. There, spelled out in newspaper and magazine clippings, was a warning, a threat.

"LEAVE THIS ALONE"

Someone knew she was digging and they didn't want their secret out. A chill went down her spine. William Afton. Had he been here? Was this his doing? Did he know that she was investigating his crimes?

She looked around, looking to see if someone, anyone, was within her eyesight. There was no one. She pocketed the note and unlocked her car, stepping inside and turning her keys in the ignition.

Who would leave a note like that? And why? Obviously, if it were William Afton, it was because he knew she was on his tail. But how could it be him? No one had seen him in years. Who could it be if it wasn't him? Who else would threaten her over this? Who else would want this to stay under wraps and unsolved?

Someone who had dirt on themself. Someone who, if this was uncovered, they would have grounds for arrest. But why? Were they an assailant? Had Afton not worked alone? Did he have help? Not many people would willingly help in the massacre of five innocent children. Not unless they were threatened, that is.

She wished she could just ask her key witnesses, her only witnesses, the missing children. But they had been missing for years and the chances of finding someone alive after forty eight hours of them initially going missing were next to none.

How many hours had it been now? It had been years, ten give or take. How many hours were in ten years? The odds of finding these kids now had to be in the negatives. She sighed, put her car in reverse, and headed to look over her research and get something to eat. She headed to Sparky's.

"Ah we meet again."

Ness said as he sauntered over to her table.

"What will it be this time?" He asked, notepad ready. "Another coffee? Shall I go ahead and put in the order of french toast as well?" Fancy sighed.

"Yeah go ahead." "You alright?" Ness asked, he lowered his notepad and looked down at her. "Yeah. just frustrated." She said, the note in her pocket felt very heavy. Frustrated wasn't quite the word to use. She was scared, but she wanted to win. She wanted to beat this monster at his own game. She had won one before, she wanted to win again. She had to.

"The case is a tough one, isn't it?" Ness proposed and Fancy nodded. "Wanna talk about it?" He offered. "Maybe I can help?" "Yeah. that might help." She said, making note not to tell him about the note- threat- warning, whatever you want to call it. "Let me put this order in and I'll be right back to chat." Ness said with a smile before dashing off to do just that.

When he came back he held two mugs of coffee for each of them and sat across from Fancy. "Let me see what you've got." He proposed and Fancy laid it all out for him, her notes from her interview with Vanessa, the case file with the photo of Afton and Schmidt, the interview transcript, and the VHS tape. Ness looked over all of it.

"Well, you don't have much here." "That's because there's not much to find. Everyone says the exact same thing. That-" "Everyone suspects Afton but there was never any evidence found to convict him of anything?" Ness finished her sentence for her and Fancy nodded.

"Believe me, I know." He said. "However, this one," He held the notes from the interview with Vanessa. "I find this one interesting." "Why's that?" "Well, Hurricane is a small town and I know just about everyone in it. We don't have a very active police force, there's not much for them to police on here in quaint little Hurricane. So our Police Force isn't very large. To my knowledge, there is no Vanessa Shelly within the police department or in Hurricane Utah at all."

Fancy's brows knit together and she took the notes of the interview with Vanessa out of Ness' hands as she looked over them herself.

"Your positive?" She asked Ness who shrugged. "Not entirely. I could be completely mistaken, but as far as I know, the name Vanessa Shelly rings no bells. Don't know her." No Vanessa? Then who had she been speaking with the other night in Mike's office? And how did she know so much about Freddy's?

"What about Mike's father- uh Mr. Henry Schmidt?" She asked, she showed him the picture where Henry and Afton stood side by side at their new restaurant.

"Know him? Or anything about him?" "yeah I think so.. He used to be poker buddies with my father. Him and Afton both until things fell apart." "What do you mean by that?" She asked, ready to take notes again. "Well I'm sure Mike told you, but after his brother went missing his mom died from a broken heart. Henry couldn't cope with it so he left." "Was this before or after Fredbear's Family Diner closed down?" "You know about that?" Ness' eyes widened with excitement. He finally had someone to share his theories with.

"The bite of 83, I like to call it." "The what?" "The bite of 83. When Afton's son was killed in a terrible freak accident. One of the animatronics bit his son's head, it removed like half of his brain." "oh my god." "yeah." Ness said.

"Fazbear entertainment was doomed from the start." He explained. "But after that, his son vanishing, and his wife dying, Henry left town and no one has seen him or heard from him since. Afton vanished as well, as you know, after those children went missing and closed Freddy's for good. And my dad- well he had his own things going on. So poker was canceled. Indefinitely."

Back to the library. Always the library. Why did it always end at the library?

The microfilm viewer always seemed to hurt her eyes no matter how much she blinked in between uses. She pulled away to rub her eyes, even though she knew that was bad for her, inserted a new roll of film, and returned her eyes to the viewing ports.

"THE BITE OF FREDBEAR"

Stared back at her. She read all about how Afton's youngest son was killed. But something that stuck out to her was something in the article that mention afton's daughter... Vanessa.

Vanessa Afton was not present at the accident. She read over the sentence over and over again.

Vanessa Afton.

She pulled the roll out and inserted another.

"VANESSA AFTON INSTANTED IN POLICE FORCE"

T he article talked about how she joined years after her father went missing. She had claimed in the article that she didn't know anything about her father's whereabouts now and how she didn't know anything about the missing children given that she herself was a child at the time.

Fancy didn't believe a word of that. She talked so fondly of Freddy's and introduced herself by a fake name? Suspicious. No, she definitely knew something.
