Introduction To Socializing
With your headphones blasting music into your ears, you walked into the classroom with an expression of boredom and exhaustion. Feeling a tap on your shoulder, you saw three female classmates smiling at you.
"Can I help you?" You questioned, pulling down your headphones to your neck.
"You're Y/n, right?" A pink female questioned.
"Yeah.." You answered. She grabbed your hand and shook it for an awkward amount of time.
"I'm Mina Ashido, that's Ochaco Uraraka and Tsu!" Gesturing to the females beside her, a brunette and a green-haired girl gave you a smile.
You rubbed the back of your neck and had a small smile. "It's nice to meet you." The three smiled to each other and waved to a violet haired female, and Momo, who was silently cheering you on.
"What's up?" The violet haired female questioned before noticing you. "I'm Kyoka Jirou, it's nice to meet you." You nodded and shook her hand, making her gave a small smile. "Sorry for the brute introduction."
"Don't worry about it, happens to me all the time." You responded. Feeling another hand on your shoulder, you saw Momo with a small but proud smile.
"Great job! Want to meet some other people?" You hid a smile behind your hand, which made Momo chuckle.
"What's so funny?" You asked.
"Your smile is beautiful, do it more. Make sure it's real, though." Momo responded. Your eyes widened in surprise but let your smile shine through as Momo led you to meeting your other classmates.
You had to admit; it felt nice to make some genuine friends, especially ones you would see almost every day.
"So, what are your interests?" Kirishima questioned with a toothy grin. About five other people were listening, so you mentally debated whether to tell them what you liked.
"Well..... I like anime, writing, reading, and some other things.." You informed. Kaminari's eyes lit up as he gripped your shoulder in excitement.
"Have you seen Black Butler?!" He questioned. Your eyes lit up as the two went on about how good the show was, with the rest of the group laughing.
"All right, sit down. I have a few announcements to make before we begin our training." Aizawa said, pulling out a piece of paper. Sitting down and paying attention, you could feel your boredom slowly peak once more. "As a safety precaution, we will move to dorms for your safety, with the permission of your parents." Aizawa informed. The class looked at each other in questioning before listening to the next announcements. "Also, we will take a test which means you have to study."
While this may have been a normal announcement, Aizawa looked at you when he said that.
As the class continued to move on to different topics throughout the day, you continued to watch Momo out of sheer curiosity. Who was she, really? While she was technically your friend, you still didn't know much about her. Not her interests, not her personality, not anything. As lunch soon rolled around, meaning that you were now standing in the middle of the cafeteria with a tray in hand, looking for a corner to sit in.
Seeing an available corner, you were about to head there when you felt someone dragging you to another table. "Come sit with us!" A familiar voice said, sitting you down to Momo and Tsu, who were chatting over whatever they could.
Hesitantly sitting with your tray, you saw Uraraka looking at Tsu lovingly. You smiled at the energy that was flowing through the class. You had learned that Bakugou and Kirishima, Kaminari and Shinso, Midoriya and Todoroki, and Uraraka and Tsu were couples.
A/N: Sorry if that was confusing. I just like the gay couples.
Smiling, you chatted with the girls, soon forgetting that you needed to head home early to meet potential suitors, but you didn't care. This was the first amount of freedom that you had with friends. "Is it okay with you guys if I get your numbers?" You asked the group, nervously pulling out your phone. Mina smiled and grabbed your phone, typing various phone numbers into it. When she handed it back to you, your phone rang a very familiar tune.
After seeing your mother's icon, you walked out into the hall with an irritated expression and answered. "What?" You spoke into the phone.
"That is no way to speak to me! I am the adult, you are not!" Your mother responded.
"That's real funny considering you're having an affair." You responded.
She scoffed and spoke once more. "The point is, the reason I'm calling you is to inform you that you need to head here to meet suitors. I already called the school and let them know." You rolled your eyes and hung up, making your mother furious, but that was for a different time.
You walked back into the cafeteria, grabbed your items, and walked out, making Momo concerned. About to call a taxi to take you anywhere other than your home, your phone rang once more, which irritated the hell out of you. Why couldn't people just leave you alone?
"Mom, leave-" You yelled into the phone.
"Y/n, it's Momo."
You blushed furiously and calmed yourself down. "Sorry about that, just got into an argument with my mom. What's up?" After a minute of shuffling or so, you could hear Momo's voice more clearly. "Sorry, I had to move to the hallway. Any way, are you okay?" She asked, concerned practically dripping from her lips.
"Yeah, just parents being parents." You responded while walking down the busy street of Musutafu, Japan.
"Maybe they want the best for you." Momo spoke. You sighed in irritation, but you couldn't blame her. It's what most people would think.
"Well, if setting up an arranged marriage is what's best for me, then I must be an idiot." You responded. There was silence on the phone for about three seconds when Momo spoke again.
"Sorry, I shouldn't have said anything." You smiled slightly and spoke once more.
"Don't worry about it. Thanks for the help. You're actually one of the only people who have actually cared." Practically hearing the joy in Momo's voice, you remembered the real reason the two of you became friends.
"After class, do you want to study together?" You questioned.
"Sure, I was going to tutor a couple others." Momo informed. "Great!" Scheduling that you would meet as her home at four, you walked home with a smile for the first time in years.
