"Alright." Indigo sat down at the dining room table in front of Tom, who was eating a late breakfast. "It's now, what, 1:00?"

"Around that, yeah." Tom said as he took a sip of tea.

"Which means in 11 hours I can drink coffee again!" She says enthusiastically.

"Oh no."

"Oh yes!" Then Indigo began rambling, which would occur with or without caffeine in her system. "Then I'll go back on Ellen, do something really cool for my fans, then all is restored once I make my way to the nearest Starbucks!"

"But a hyper Indie is a no bueno Indie." Tom frowned.

"Ah, well, lástima (too bad)." She sassed.

"Fuck DuoLingo." Tom stood and made his way to the kitchen. Poor boy will never learn Spanish.

"Wait, wait, wait!" Indigo stopped him. "You got the drinks for later, right?"

"Of course." He replied. "We're gonna get smashed tonight, darling."

"I hope that means drunk!"

"Don't worry, it does!"

Hours Later

Tom and Indigo's New Year's party was in full swing. Their apartment was filled with friends and family, and the New Year's countdown was displayed on their massive TV.

Once again both Diego and Zendaya were in attendance, but no one knew if the two would actually have a conversation tonight. Maybe Diego could get in the apology he had been dying to say for months, but for now it would just be Zendaya avoiding Diego while she could.

One of the attendee's was Tom's good friend Tuwaine, who Indigo had yet to meet the entire time she had been with Tom. Better late than never, right?

"T! What's good?" Tom greeted Tuwaine as they did a quick handshake.

"Just thriving as always." Tuwaine replied. "I missed the other half of T squared."

"Same, dude. Also, this is my fiancée, Indigo." Indigo then waved, and said hi to him.

"That's her?" He pointed to Indigo, and Tom nodded. "My man!"

Tuwaine high fived Tom, and Tom high fived him back. "Yeah, yeah. She was in Spider-Man with me. And she sings."

"You know, I did all the plays when I was in high school." Tuwaine said to Indigo, who was intrigued since theatre was her thing.

"Oh? What roles did you play?" She asked.

"Ensemble." He replied with a poker face.

"I kinda wish I had some inspiring speech, but in all honesty I don't even know how I got this far." Indigo shrugged.

"I like this girl."

"Yeah, me too."

While everyone was partying their ass off, Zendaya stood alone at the balcony where no one could bother her, at least she thought that no one would.

"Hey." It was Diego, who was breathless after seeing the ensemble Zendaya was in.

She didn't say a word to him, and continued staring out into the distance where she could see the New Year's celebration going on from Times Square. "Silent treatment I see. It's fine. I deserve it."

"Um, the view's great." He said in an attempt to start up a conversation. "You know, the Times Square ball from all the way out there."

Still nothing. Now the countdown to midnight was getting closer and closer, and Diego took a leap of faith. "I wish things were different, Z. I really do."

"10, 9, 8-"

"Not a day goes by where I don't miss you," He sighed. "but I don't expect you to feel the same way."

"7, 6, 5, 4-

"I just really want you to know that-"

"3, 2, 1! Happy New Year!" Right as the ball dropped Zendaya grabbed Diego's face and kissed him passionately, and he instantly kissed her back.

Before the kiss could go any further, it ended in a flash with Diego in an insane amount of shock and Zendaya with tons of regret. She leaves the balcony without saying anything, leaving Diego speechless. He touches his bottom lip, still surprised that she had kissed him.

"Holy shit."

While that had just went down, Indigo was celebrating the fact that she kept her promise to Ellen Degeneres.

"Happy New Year, bitch!" Indigo screamed at the top of her lungs and kissed Tom. "I did it! Take that Ellen!"

After her mini celebration, Indigo noticed Zendaya looked like she just saw a ghost, and that she was making an exit.

"Woah, woah, woah." Indigo tried her best to catch up to Zendaya and luckily stopped her in her tracks. "Where are you going?"

"I have to go." Zendaya replied with an almost robotic tone. "It's been fun. Happy New Year."

And with that Zendaya left the apartment, and no one but Diego would know why she did that. Maybe eventually Zendaya would tell Indigo, but for now she needed somewhere to scream until she couldn't anymore.

"What was wrong with Daya?" Tom asked Indigo.

"I wish I knew."
