"Doctor... Doctor meri Shehnaaz ko bacha li jiye... Main marr jaaunga uske bina... Please doctor..."

Sidharth was crying badly while Shehnaaz was lying on strecher, her whole body was covered with blood. The doctor and few nurses came and checked her.

"Patient ki haalat bohut critical hai... Humein abhi ke abhi inka operation karna hoga." Said the doctor and they started taking Shehnaaz to the operation theatre.

Sidharth was going with her while holding her hand, full of blood. Never in his life, he was so scared of anything but today he was scared as he might lose his love.

"Tujhe kuch nahi hoga Naazo. Main tere saath hoon. Kuch nahi hone dunga main tujhe." Murmured Sidharth looking at Shehnaaz who lying unconscious.

Sidharth was going to the operation theatre but the nurses stopped him from going. Kushal and Shivangi came to handle him.

Shehnaaz's OT started while Kushal and Shivangi made Sidharth sit on a bench near the OT. One nurse told them to inform the police at it was looking like an attempt to murder case. Sidharth was not in his sense so Kushal informed the police and also handled everything in his own to dismiss the matter there.

Sidharth was sitting on bench being numb while tears were continuously falling from his eyes. Kushal was consoling him and Shivangi was praying to God to keep her bestfriend safe.

After sometime the doctor came out of the operation theatre and Sidharth immediately went to him.

"Shehnaaz kaisi hai? She is fine na?" He asked with hope.

The doctor nodded in no and said, "It's very serious Mr. Shukla. Unko goli lagi hai, bohut saara blood loss bhi hua hai. Hum apni puri koshish kar rahe hai par sayad hum unko bacha na paaye......"

Sidharth's blood boiled hearing the doctor's statement. He immediately held his collar and said gritting his teeth, "Kya bakwas hai yeh? Bacha nahi paayenge matlab? Usko bachana hoga kisi bhi keemat mein. Agar meri Shehnaaz ko kuch bhi hua na, I'm not going to spare anybody. Jala ke rakh dunga sab kuch!"

His eyes were red in anger while Kushal immediately pulled him back.

"Kya kar raha hai? Dimaag kharab hogaya hai kya?" Yelled Kushal seeing Sidharth's madness.

"Inki taraf se main maafi maangti hoon doctor. Aap sirf Shehnaaz ko bacha li jiye." Said Shivangi crying, folding her hands.

"Main aap logo ki halat samajh sakta hoon. We are trying our best. Baki aap log dua ki jiye ki unhe kuch na ho." Said the doctor calmly and left from there.

Sidharth started feeling helpless. His Naazo was battling with death while he couldn't do anything to save her. He couldn't even protect her from all this, he failed everytime.

"Sidharth, bhagwan pe bharosa rakh. Kuch nahi hoga teri Shehnaaz ko." Said Kushal to which Shivangi nodded with teary.

"Mujhe kuch der akela rehna hai." Said Sidharth controlling his emotions and left from there wiping off his tears harshly.

Sidharth came outside the hospital and sat at an empty place.

"Woh goli mere liye thi... Aaj uski jagah mujhe hona chahiye tha... Meri wajah se uski yeh halat hui... It's all my fault..." Murmured Sidharth while a sudden feeling of guilt rushed through his veins. He started blaming himself for everything.

Sidharth held his own head and closed his eyes, remembering the moment when he saw Shehnaaz in the college. She was dancing so happily, her innocent soul never even expected that she would land up in the hell which he made for her. He caged her in this dark world because he claimed to love her, because of which today she was dying, he was going to lose her again, this time maybe forever.

He shivered thinking it. His so called love, obsession ended everything, destroyed her completely. He felt it would have been better if he never came into her life.

Paas aaye duriyaan phir bhi kam na hui
Ek adhuri si hamari kahani rahi

"Zid thi meri tujhe paane ki, tujhe khud se pyaar karwane ki. Meri iss hi zid aur pagalpan ne sab barbaad kar diya. Tu mujhse dur jaa rahi hai aur main kuch nahi kar paa raha... Tu... tu bas thik ho jaa, main chala jaaunga teri life se... Kyu ki jab tak main teri life mein hoon, teri mushkilein kabhi khatam nahi hongi... Sayad kismat ko hi humara milna manzoor nahi hai..." He thought looking upwards while a lone tear escaped his eyes.

He remembered every single moment he spent with his Naazo. Those were precious to him. He got everything he asked for himself in those days. But he couldn't be more selfish. He had to let her go if he wanted her happy, and safe, far away from his dark world.

Waqt ki ret pe kuch mere naam sa
Likh ke chhor gaya, tu kahan?

Sidharth started walking away slowly while on the other hand the doctors were trying their best to save Shehnaaz. They became successful to take out the bullet from her body but the danger was still there.

"Mujhe pata hai tujhe kuch nahi hoga Shehnaaz. You are a fighter. Tu bilkool thik ho jayegi, tujhe thik hona hoga... mere liye. Lekin tere thik hone ke baad tu mujhe nahi dekhegi. Main kabhi tere saamne nahi aaunga. Ab se tu azad hai, I'm freeing you from this hell. Tujhe teri purani life, teri khushi, tera pehla pyaar sab lauta dunga main. Aur rahi baat humare pyaar ki toh.... Kuch kahaniyan adhuri reh jaaye, iss hi mein sabki bhalai hai."

Sidharth chuckled painfully and left, not only the hospital, but her life.

Few days later...

"Sid..harth... Sidharth..."

Murmured Shehnaaz with closed eyes while her hand started moving a little. The person who was sitting near her, noticed her responding after so long and moved near her.

"Shehnaaz... Tu thik hai? Kaisa lag raha hai ab?" He asked and Shehnaaz slowly opened her eyes.

"Mayank?" She whispered with disbelief as she didn't expect him to be there.

Mayank smiled and said, "Thank God tujhe hosh aa gaya. Ruk main doctors aur baki sab ko bulake laata hoon."

Saying that he left from there. Shehnaaz sat up with difficulty as her body was still weak. She looked around the hospital and remembered how she landed here.

Soon the doctor came and Mayank, Shivangi and Kushal came behind him.

The doctor checked Shehnaaz and said, "Khatra toh pehle hi tal gaya tha. Accha hua inko hosh aa gaya. Ab inki recovery zaldi hogi aur hum zald se zald inko discharge kar denge."

They all smiled hearing that. After the doctor left, Shivangi came and hugged Shehnaaz.

"Tune toh dara hi diya tha. Paata hai kya haalat ho gayi thi hum sab ki? Aunty ka ro ro ke bura haal tha, ek toh waise hi woh bimaar hai upar se tune..... Aisa koi karta hai kya?" Said Shivangi making angry pout while her eyes were teary.

Shehnaaz chuckled slightly and said, "Tu ab ek bimaar insaan ko daantegi?"

"Daatungi. Hazar baar daatungi agar phir se aisa kuch kiya toh. Pagal kahi ki."

Shehnaaz smiled at her bestfriend and then looked at Kushal and Mayank. Her eyes were searching only one person but she became confused as she didn't find him there.

"Sidharth kaha hai Kushal Bhai?" She asked and everyone's faces fell hearing that. They couldn't understand what to tell her.

"Kahi Nawaz Bhai ne kuch...."

Shehnaaz got scared but her fear went away when Kushal said, "Nawaz Bhai ko unke kiye ki saza mil chuki hai. Aur Sidharth bilkool thik hai, don't worry."

Shehnaaz understood the meaning of it and gave a sigh of relief thinking that there was no danger now.

"Toh phir Sidharth kyu nahi aaya?" She asked further.

"Woh asal mein...."

Shivangi was going to say but Kushal kept his hand on her shoulder stopping her.

"Asal mein Sidharth ki ek important business deal hai. Isliye woh kuch dino ke liye Mumbai se bahar gaya hai. But main usse baata dunga ki tumhe hosh aa gaya hai. Dekhna woh apni deal zaldi se khatam kar ke bhag ke tumhare paas chala aayega." Said Kushal smiling to light her mood but Shehnaaz became sad hearing that. She wanted him to be near her.

Meanwhile Shivangi understood why Kushal said this. Shehnaaz did not recover fully so it would be better for her not to learn the truth yet.

"Waise Mayank... Tu kab aaya?" Asked Shehnaaz looking at Mayank.

"Woh...main... Bas kuch hi din pehle aaya tha... Teri condition ke baare mein paata chala toh maine inn logo se kaha ki mujhe milna hai tujhse toh inhone mera India wapas aane ka sara intezaam kar diya... Ab dekh ke thodi rahat mili ki tu thik hai." Said Mayank while Shehnaaz gave a faint smile.

Mayank realised that she was not that happy seeing him. She was expecting Sidharth instead of him and it was natural. When you are sick, you want that particular person near you whom you loved the most. Mayank became sad as she didn't consider him as that person anymore but he felt more bad for her.

After talking to her for sometime, Shivangi, Kushal and Mayank left while Shehnaaz took her phone. She called Sidharth but he didn't pick up her call which made her more disappointed.

For some unknown reason she was feeling restless. She badly wanted to see him, talk to him, hear his voice.

She sighed and started recoding a voice message.

"Mujhe paata hai tum busy ho lekin please ho sake toh mujhe call back karo. Mujhe tumhari awaz sun ni hai. Jab se hosh aaya hai, sirf tumhare baare mein hi soch rahi hoon. Mujhe zaroorat hai tumhari. Tum na apna yeh deal veal chhoro aur wapas aa jao. Shayad tum paas rahoge toh zaldi thik ho jaaungi. Khub saara pamper jo karoge tum mujhe."

Shehnaaz chuckled saying that.

"Dekha? Pure bigaad diya hai tumne apni hone wali wife ko. Accha chalo tumhe iss hi waqt aane ki zaroorat nahi hai, bas free time pe mujhe ek baar call karna. Tumhare call ka intezar rahega..... I love you."

She sent the voice message and started waiting for his reply.

On the other hand, Sidharth received the voice message and started hearing it on loop. He was relieved knowing that she gained her consciousness and also recovering. Her voice gave peace to his heart. He wanted to go to her right then but controlled his emotions. He knew she was waiting for him but he wouldn't be weak. Otherwise she would again be in some danger. He would stay away from her for her own betterment.

"Tujhse dur reh ke jee paaunga yaa nahi yeh nahi paata mujhe.... Lekin paas reh ke tujhe takleef mein dekhne se toh accha hi hai ki main tujhse dur rahu." He said to himself putting stone in his heart.

Suddenly he heard someone coming. He stopped Shehnaaz's voice recording and pretended like doing his work.

"Sidharth what's wrong with you Bro?" Asked Kushal with an irritated face. "Jab se usko hosh aaya hai sirf tere baare mein puch rahi hai. Iss waqt usko sach baatana sahi nahi rahega isliye jhut bolke shaant kiya. Tu kyu kar raha hai aisa? Jaa ke mil le na usse."

Sidharth didn't give any reply to Kushal's words and asked coldly, "Kaisi hai woh?"

"Yeh jaan ke tu kya karega? Tu toh nafrat karta hai na usse?" Asked Kushal sarcastically.

"Haan nafrat hai mujhe uss se. Main bas insaaniyat ke naate puch raha tha. Tujhe nahi baatana hai toh mat baata."

Sidharth showed annoyance on his face and tried to leave when Kushal stopped him keeping his palm on his shoulder.

"Tu jhut bol raha hai Sidharth. Agar tu sach mein uss se nafrat karta toh uss din hospital mein waise rota nahi. Aur agar koi insaan ek baar kisi se saccha pyaar kar le na, woh zindagi mein kabhi uss insaan se nafrat nahi kar sakta."

Sidharth paused for a while and said, "Shehnaaz ne jo kiya uske baad main usse apni life mein accept nahi kar sakta. Usne Nawaz Bhai ke saath haath mila ke mere against conspiracy kiyi, mere saath itne waqt tak jhuta pyaar ka natak kiya. I can't forgive her for that."

"Aur usne jo tere liye apni jaan risk mein daal diyi, uska kya?"

"Woh bas uska guilt tha, nothing else. Aur mujhe uss baare mein koi baat nahi karni. Usko azadi chahiye thi mujhse, maine de diya. Ab woh jaise chahe waise apni zindagi jee sakti hai. Mayank hai na uske saath?"

"Haan lekin...."

"He will take care of her. Meri koi zaroorat nahi hai." Said Sidharth and walked away, while his heart broke into pieces.

On the other hand, Shehnaaz saw that he had seen the messages but didn't give any reply. Her eyes became moist.

She kept her phone aside and started thinking about him sadly, with her eyes closed. In no time she drifted to sleep because of tiredness.
