Gift of Friendship

"What do you mean he died again?"

Jack hastily ran after the Jim twins so he could see Robbie, Chase and Jameson running after not far behind.

"As in he's literally dead for good." The red Jim twin clarified as they stopped in the middle of an abandoned hallway.

Robbie's body was lying in a pool of his own blood that had leaked from the large hole in his neck, a weak smile lighting up the zombie's face as his pale blue eyes stared up lifelessly at the ceiling.

"Maybe Marvin could probably use necromancy to bring him back?" Chase chimed in hopefully.

"If he actually does comes back for us." Jack added sourly.

"What...did I m-miss?"

Jack whirled around to see Jackaboy-Man smiling weakly while leaning heavily against the wall to help him stand, his arm wrapped around his wound.

"Hey hey hey, you need rest." Chase directed Jackaboy-Man sternly with concern evident in his tone as he rushed to the hero's side.

"Wh-where's...Schneep, Robbie, and M-Marvin?" Jackaboy-Man questioned through gritted teeth as Jameson helped the hero sit on the floor.

"I...it's complicated." Jack admitted as he glanced between the others, the Irishman hesitant to tell him the truth.

Jameson glanced between the group before he signed an explanation to Jackaboy-Man with a grim expression, the hero's face growing paler as he watched Jameson's hands move.

"Oh Robbie..." Jackaboy-Man trailed off, swallowing hard as he struggled to stand back up with a grimace of pain.

"You stay there, we gotta get you patched up." Jack told the hero before turning towards the Jim twins.

"Do you have any medical supplies here?" The Irishman asked, the twins nodding their heads in response.

"We don't have much as far as medical supplies, but you're welcome to use any of it that you need." The blue Jim twin answered.

Jack nodded in appreciation and walked with Chase to where the medical supplies were kept, Jameson and the Jim twins watching over Jackaboy-Man.

"Robbie wasn't always a zombie." The red Jim twin remarked casually to the wounded hero as he glanced at the still zombie.

"Wha-what do...you mean?" Jackaboy-Man asked as he closed his eyes, the hero feeling beyond drained.

"Robbie, aka Robert, was a scientist in this dimension. In his search to find a cure for something his fiancé was afflicted with, he accidentally created something that ended our world as we knew it." The blue Jim twin cut in grimly.

Jackaboy-Man wanted to reply, but he could feel his eyes gradually drooping shut with exhaustion as Jack and Chase returned with their arms full of supplies.

"Robbie..." Jackaboy-Man murmured before slipping into unconsciousness, Jack kneeling down in front of him before the hero was encompassed in blissful darkness.

"Vhere zhe hell am I?"

Schneep looked around him and felt a stab of panic when he realized that he was surrounded by complete darkness.

"Zhis must be zhe demon dimension." Schneep murmured before he fell silent, the doctor listening for signs of demons around.

"Welcome back Doctor Schneeplestien."

Schneep stiffened at the sound of Dark's voice, his body paralyzed with fear as a wave of memories of his last visit in the demon dimension crashed over him.

"Now, if you want to keep your life, you will tell me where to find Anti." Dark continued, the German unable to see the demon in the darkness.

"Last time I saw him, he sacrificed his freedom so Jack could be free." Schneep answered, the doctor remembering Anti's sad smile as he was closed off in his dimension for good.

"Lies!" Dark snarled, the dark haired demon abruptly appearing out of nowhere and grabbing Schneep's neck, his hand squeezing the air out of Schneep.

"I will only ask this one last time before I really begin to lose my patience. Where. Is. Anti?" Dark questioned in a dangerously calm tone as he lifted Schneep into the air with one hand.

Schneep gasped desperately for air as he struggled to free himself from Dark's iron grip to no avail, the German's vision quickly becoming peppered with black spots.

"Pathetic." Dark sneered as he finally let go of Schneep, the German gasping for air like a fish out of water as he fell to the ground.

"Is...Anti not...here?" Schneep wheezed as he struggled to regain his composure, managing to stand up.

"No...you really don't know where he is, do you?" Dark murmured thoughtfully as he started pacing around.

"No, I thought he vas here." Schneep replied, Dark growling in irritation as he abruptly stopped pacing and looked at the doctor.

"How the hell did you even get here?" Dark questioned curiously as he stepped closer to Schneep.

"It's a long story." Schneep sighed, his gaze dropping to his feet as Marvin's angry blue eyes flashed in his mind.

"I've got time. It's not like either of us can go anywhere anyway." Dark pointed out.

Schneep hesitates before spilling all of his thoughts to the demon, glad to have someone to talk to that would actually listen.

After Schneep was finished, Dark silently clasped his hands behind his back and eyed Schneep thoughtfully.

"Sounds like your friends betrayed you too." Dark stated with a tinge of remorse in his baritone voice, catching Schneep off guard.

"They didn't betray me!" Schneep argued defensively, his tone laced with doubt as he remembered how furious Marvin was when he tried to help Jackaboy-Man.

"I have a proposition for you. I protect you from the other demons here, we work together to get out of here and find Anti, then I can make Marvin apologize for what he did to you. Do we have a deal?" Dark countered, offering Schneep his hand.

"Vell..." Schneep trailed off as he looked down at his hand, his bloodstained blue rubber gloves still covering them.

"You von't hurt my friends, right?" Schneep asked warily as he looked back up at Dark, hesitant to agree.

"I can promise that none of them will be hurt by me." Dark promised without hesitation, easing Schneep's concerns slightly.

Schneep took a deep breath before he took Dark's hand and shook it, feeling a sense of joy in knowing that he would get his justice.

"Perfect. Now," Dark grinned as he released Schneep's hand, his pitch black eyes gleaming with mischief.

"Lets get to work."
