Christmas Miracle
"Schneep? Are you here? Look, I'm sorry!"
Marvin trudged through the pitch blackness with Wilford by his side, the pair choosing to stick together to prevent one of them from getting lost.
"Well lookie here, fresh meat ripe for the taking."
Marvin shuddered as he tried to ignore the eerie whispers floating around them, the magician picking up his pace.
"I won't let the demons hurt you." Wilford assured Marvin fiercely, the dark haired male taking longer strides to match Marvin's pace.
"Schneep!" Marvin called out pleadingly, desperation evident in his tone as eyes peered at him through the darkness.
"Looking for someone?"
Marvin whirled around to see Dark standing behind him, the demon holding Wilford in a chokehold with his own knife pressed to his neck.
"I have a proposition for you-"
"I don't care about your stupid deal, I just want Schneep and Wilford back!" Marvin interrupted as he pointed his wand at Dark.
"Damien, please." Wilford whispered in a heartbroken voice, the dark haired demon pressed the knife blade harder against his skin.
"Damien?" Marvin repeated in confusion, Dark seeming equally lost as he lowered the knife with a frown.
Wilford used the moment of distraction to dart away from Dark over to Marvin, the dark haired male drawing his golden pistol and aiming it at Dark.
"It's interesting how you can kill everyone else you care about, but you can't make yourself kill me." Dark mused with a smug smirk as he tauntingly spread his arms open.
Wilford's hands shook violently as his finger reluctantly hovered over the trigger, his chocolate brown eyes filled with tears.
"Damnit!" Wilford cursed with a sob as he tossed the gun down on the ground, causing it to skid way from him a few feet.
"Marvin? Vhat are you doing here?"
Marvin looked to see Schneep standing behind him with his hands shoved into the pockets of his lab coat, his expression filled with hurt and surprise.
"Schneep! Look, I'm sorry for everything, I just..." Marvin trailed off, hesitant to admit the truth to the doctor.
"He still doesn't trust you...what a shame." Dark chimed in casually, Schneep's expression turning cold.
"That's not-"
"Shut up!" Schneep cried out, his voice cracking with emotion as he turned his back on Marvin and Wilford.
"Schneep, he's using you to get what he wants!" Wilford blurted as Dark strode past them to the German doctor.
"I don't care! At least if I'm being used, zhen I can actually do something!" Schneep countered as Dark scooped up Wilford's discarded gun.
"It's time to make a choice," Dark told Schneep as he carefully handed the German the pistol.
"Kill your so called friends, or kill me."
Schneep took the gun in his hands and turned back to face Marvin and Wilford, his expression unreadable as he held up the gun in-between Dark and Marvin.
"Doctor Schneeplestien, you know what to do." Dark stated calmly as he clasped his hands behind his back wit a triumphant grin.
"You're right, I know exactly vhat to do." Schneep replied as he put his finger on the trigger, his hands surprisingly steady.
A gunshot rang out in the silence, the other demons lurking in the darkness watching in excitement.
"Ha...I guess I shouldn't have been surprised." Dark chuckled as he looked down at the blood blossoming on his chest through his suit, droplets of crimson dripping to the floor.
"Marvin, get us out of here!" Wilford shouted to the magician, snapping Marvin out of his stunned stupor.
As Marvin created the portal, Dark charged towards the trio with the intent to kill gleaming in his black eyes, the demon seeming unbothered by the wound.
Schneep fumbled with the gun and aimed it at Dark, the doctor pulling the trigger as Dark grabbed Marvin.
Marvin looked over at Schneep, his blue eyes boring into the German's before he looked down at his torso, a pool of red blossoming through the side of his shirt as the magician collapsed to the floor in what felt like slow motion.
His wand fell out of his limp hand and rolled over to Dark's feet, the demon bending down and picking it up.
"I told you he wouldn't be hurt by me." Dark remarked to the doctor as he stepped through the portal, leaving the trio trapped in the dark.
"MARVIN!"
Schneep dropped the gun and bolted to the magician's side before kneeling down by his wounded friend, a puddle of blood surrounding the him.
Wilford silently stood back and picked up the gun, replacing it in the waistband of his pants before walking up to Schneep.
"I-I didn't mean to! It v-vas an accident, I swear!" Schneep hiccuped through his tears as he cradled Marvin's head in his lap.
Wilford winced at the words as he knelt by Schneeplestien, the male staring blankly at Marvin's prone form as his chest slowly rose and fell with each shallow breath he took.
"I-I'm...sorry." Marvin whimpered apologetically, his voice breathy as he weakly wrapped his arm around the steadily bleeding wound in his side.
"No no no, staying alive for me vould be enough of an apology." Schneep insisted as he hastily removed his lab coat and lifted up Marvin's hand before pressing it to the wound.
"Schneep...I'm...s-scared." Marvin choked out, the white fabric of the lab coat quickly turning red.
"I have to use my hands to find the bullet since zhere are no tools." Schneep murmured as he removed his bloodstained gloves and put on a new pair, the doctor carefully moving the lab coat so he could look into the wound.
"It's not much, but you can use this." Wilford offered, retrieving a small flask from his pocket and offering it to the doctor.
Schneep nodded in appreciation as he poured most of its contents into Marvin's mouth to numb the pain.
"I don't think any major organs have been hit." Schneep declared with a sigh of relief, his fingers delicately probing inside the wound.
Marvin's back arched as he let out a cry of pain, enticing the demons to crawl out of the shadows towards the three.
"Keep helping Marvin, I got your back." Wilford told the doctor grimly as he fired at one of the demons running towards them.
"You're doing great Marvin, stay strong." Schneep pleaded quietly as he felt around for the bullet, earning more screams of pain from the magician.
"These demons are weak, but I don't think I can keep this up for long!" Wilford shouted at Schneep as he fired another bullet into a demon's chest, slowing them down slightly.
"C'mon c'mon c'mon," Schneep chanted under his breath as his fingers brushed against a small metallic object lodged in between Marvin's ribs.
"Hurry up!" Wilford barked as a demon tackled him to the floor, the dark haired male shooting them in the head before scrambling back to his feet.
"Got it!" Schneep exclaimed as he retrieve the bloody bullet and tossed it aside, the German placing his lab coat over the wound.
"Marvin?" Schneep prompted pleadingly, the magician lying deathly still as Wilford retreated back to the pair.
The magician stirred slightly in his unconscious state before becoming motionless again, allowing the German to relax slightly.
"This vill keep him alive for now, but ve need a vay out of here fast." Schneep told Wilford as he stood up.
"Is it possible to move him?" Wilford asked as he looked around at the demons swarming around the trio.
Schneep shook his head in response, the dark haired male letting out a slow sigh as he cocked his gun.
"Then I'll just shoot the shit out of the demons."
