Parent Problems
[Alternative title: The dads being bitter wine moms with each other]
Was I planning to never update again? Yeah.
Did I intend to forget this book and ignore it like my least favourite child? Duh.
But did I think that someone was actually reading it? Hell no. So to that person who recently began commenting, thank you! Cause I actually wanted to write here again.
Fun fact: I actually had two chapters written but never finished them cause I'm uncreative. So I'll be completing them and then figure out where to take the story next.

Jungkook was taking his time away from Taehyung just as well as you'd expect. He'd beg to go see him, constantly mention his name just to annoy his parents and if he wasn't doing either of those, he was making snide or snarky comments to get under his father's skin. Which was working. By the end of the week, Seokjin felt ready to tear his own hair out and Namjoon wasn't faring any better. Coming home from a long stressful day of work just to be greeted by your moody child was something they hoped not to experience after the boys turned twelve.
"Oh, how fun adulthood is~" Sang Jin as he poured each of his guests a glass of wine. Seonghwa happily downed his within seconds, with Jackson right behind him.
"Slow down you two," Sighed Hongjoong, reluctantly holding his glass to his lips.
"Oh come on Hongjoong, we know you want to," Seokjin said playfully before finishing his drink in just a few gulps. Hongjoong glanced down at the red liquid indecisively but saw that both Mark and Namjoon had started drinking as well. Figuring it wouldn't hurt anyone, the youngest started to sip at the fancy liquid.
Jackson couldn't help but chuckle at how shy he was acting. "Relax Joong, you act like you haven't had a glass in years." He teased, ruffling the younger man's white hair. Hongjoong only rolled his eyes at him, finally finishing his first drink while the others were on their second or third cup.
"It might as well have been. Do you know how scared I am to bring something that isn't apple juice into the house?" Whined Seonghwa, leaning against his shorter husband's shoulder. "I've been so stressed but the only thing I have to calm my nerves is animal crackers and chicken nuggets because all my nice food gets eaten the moment I turn my back!"
"Unfortunately that's the only part that never changes." Sighed Namjoon as he swirled his third glass of wine around in his cup.
Seokjin tapped his glass with a teaspoon then raised it in the air. "Thank you all for taking the time to come out here and complain about your problems, even you Jackson."
"Are you kidding?" He scoffed. "Taehyung's done nothing but whine about losing his boyfriend and that it's a violation of his 'rights'. If I didn't have a car I would've sprinted here if I had to."
"Mm, he's been talking to me about his problems now as well...all the time." Remarked Mark. "I'm all for bonding but not like this."
"As such, I'd like to propose a toast: To forgetting about our 'parent problems' and taking a moment to talk about ourselves for once. We're not just parents, we're people too. So everyone fill your glasses, that means you too Hongjoong, and just relax. Give me your cup first Joong." Everyone raised their wine glasses, with Seokjin filling Hongjoong's to the brim the second he put it back down.
"There's someone here I don't know!" Seonghwa yelled suddenly. He pointed his finger towards Mark, who had been quietly sipping his new glass of wine, minding his own business. "You! You're dating Jackson right? Dish!"
"What...?"
"Talk about yourself," Namjoon told him to translate the younger man's term.
Mark replied with a light Oh and then shrugged. "Pfft, I don't know? Well, I wanted to be a teacher, but ended up being rich so that's fun. Real Estate is nice and all but I wouldn't have minded teaching kids English either."
"Real Estate? You wouldn't happen to work at JYP, would you?" Inquired Hongjoong, at which Mark hummed. "Jackson!" He shouted suddenly. "You slept with someone from our sister company? He wasn't in charge in that building we just acquired, was he?"
"Weeeell." Hongjoong threw a cracker from the snack plate at his colleagues face.
"Bad midget!" Jackson scolded in a teasing manner. "You wouldn't want to get in a fight now would you?"
"Post up bitch I can still reach your kneecaps." The others all chuckled but Jackson flinched back when he saw how serious he looked about it. That is until Hongjoong laughed along as well. "Calm down, I'm not up for a lawsuit."
"Thank you again for inviting us out tonight," Seonghwa said thankfully. "I can't wait for the kids to grow up so we can do this more often."
"No, enjoy having them as babies while you still can. I can still remember when Jungkookie could barely reach my waist. Now he's almost taller than me!" Groaned Seokin. He rested his head against the granite counter, face mounting a look of utter dismay. "Time flies in the most unfortunate ways. I wish they'd slow down a bit, Jimin sent me an entire document filled with universities he wants to attend and let me tell you, they're not cheap."
"Where are those two by the way?" Inquired Mark.
Namjoon tilted his head towards the Seongjoong duo. "Kook's watching their kids for the night, and Jimin's staying over with some friends. I'm not going to lie, it's strange having the house so quiet."
"Wait, you two had the house to yourselves and you invited us over?" Jackson marvelled in disappointment. The others, minus Namjoon, turned to him looking confused and somewhat offended by his statement. "When you have the house to yourself after who knows how long, you don't invite a bunch of your friends over to be sappy and drink wine. You get down and you fu-" Jackson was interrupted by a swift hit on the head from Mark and a handful of crackers thrown at his face by Seonghwa, followed by Hongjoong shoving him off his seat.
Namjoon wasn't nearly as surprised and after knowing Jackson for years, nonchalantly sipped at his drink while he watched his poor friend get scolded by the others. All while Jin had his flustered face covered in embarrassment. "It's not too late to ditch," Namjoon murmured in his ear. "I don't mind taking this elsewhere."
"Of course you wouldn't," Seokjin grumbled right back. "Sue me for wanting to get together with a few friends, and Jackson," He not so subtly glanced at the younger, rolling his eyes. "Outside of work hours. Besides, we live together. I could tie you down anytime I wanted and I know you'd let me."
Hongjoong snickered. "Ha! Bottom!"
"Says you!" Exclaimed Namjoon. "You two have six kids. How was it carrying all of them Hongjoong?" The white-haired man glared at him, playfully of course, and drank the remainder of his wine.
"For your information Kim Namjoon, we switch," Hongjoong explained rather proudly, much to his husband's mortified expression. "What? I'm not about to have him slander me like that. I'm no bottom."
Seonghwa scoffed at him. "You were last week, what are you talking about?"
For the most part, everyone managed to keep the conversation civil and PG. Of course, Jackson was never one to sugarcoat things and went into extensive detail about his love life with Mark just about any chance he got, which usually resulted in him getting smacked across the head by whoever was closest to him.
As time went on, they began to bring out drinks other than wine. Bringing to light some of the men's lack of alcohol tolerance and other drunken tendencies. Including, but not limited to:
Seonghwa dancing on one of the tables,
Mark giving Jackson a hazy lapdance,
Hongjoong and Namjoon singing like their lives depended on it for karaoke,
All while Jin cried in the corner. He was an emotional drunk.
By the time it was all over, it was quarter-past eleven and nearly everyone had passed out. The only ones with at least a semblance of consciousness were Namjoon and Jin, who had situated themselves on the couch. Seokjin had curled up to his husband, his head resting comfortably against his chest. Soothing sounds from his heart lent him a lulling sound to rest his eyes too.
"Joon?" He said softly, tired voice reaching the man above as Namjoon hummed in response. "Do you think Jimin and Jungkook want to see their birth parents?"
For a moment, there was silence. Namjoon's tongue prodded the inside of his cheek, deep in thought. "That's a bit of a random question," He finally answered. "What makes you say that?" Jin shifted in his grip. It was clear he was a bit uncomfortable with what he was about to say.
"I got a call...from the orphanage." He hesitated. "They told me they had found Jimin's biological mother..."
Creasing his brow, Namjoon looked down at his husband. Jin knew he wasn't happy. "But I thought she was in prison..."
"She was released the other day..." The silence between them returned, making Seokjin tense once again. "I'm sorry, I just couldn't find the words to tell you. I didn't-"
"Hey hey, it's alright. I understand." Namjoon's reassuring tone kept him at ease and the way he ran hands through his brown locks brought a small smile to his face. He felt cared for in a way only Joon could deliver. "We'll figure it out, don't worry, Jinnie."
"Okay...okay..." He glanced up to see a grin on the younger man's face. Perhaps it was the alcohol but something about it made him giggle. Reaching up, Jin tapped Namjoon's nose, making a light boop sound and earning a chuckle from the other male. "I love you Joon," He whispered gently.
"I love you too Jin. Now get some rest. We've got a lot of people to take care of in the morning."
