Chapter 3 - Taste of Coffee
Error's POV
I sat at the dining table while typing on my laptop. Gray was sitting in a chair as he watched Ink cook. Ink's brown scarf was wrapped around our child's neck.
Ink looked at me when I released a frustrated sigh. I pushed my glasses up to rub my eyes because I had been staring a screen for way too fucking long.
A clink on the wooden table pulled me from my ever growing frustration. I pulled away my hands to see that Ink had placed a cup of coffee next to me. I smiled as I took a sip.
Me: Just the way I like, thank you Ink. I really needed this.
Ink: You're welcome.
Ink said without looking away from his task.
I took a glance at our three year old, who was staring at my cup.
Me: Yes?
Gray: Can I try that?
Me: You wouldn't like it.
Gray: Please?
I slightly shrugged as I gently pushed the glass towards him.
Me: Blow on it first, it's hot.
Gray put the cup to his lips, taking a small sip. I chuckled to myself when I saw Gray make a disgusted expression. He shook his head and gave me the cup back.
Me: Don't worry, it's an acquired taste. You'll get used to it.
Ink set plates in front of us before sitting next to Gray. Our child began to eat with a content smile.

I typed on my computer but I wanted to take a break for a few hours. Looking away from the screen, I saw Ink drawing on his sketchbook. He was in his own little world. I couldn't help but stare at him with a small smile.
Ink sensed me and moved his gaze towards me.
Ink: What is it?
Me: Nothing. Just admiring you.
There was rainbow blush on Ink's cheeks and a faint smile appeared. Ink looked away but I could tell that he enjoyed my statement.
Standing up, I walked over to Ink before hugging him from behind. I kissed the top of his head while rubbing his stomach. Ink placed his right hand on my cheek while continuing to draw.
I backed away so I could go find Gradient. I found the young boy in his bedroom, putting together an expert level lego set. My child as always been too smart for his own good.
Me: What are you building, Gray?
Gray: I am the building the Tag- tag...
Me: The Taj Mahal?
Gray: Yes.
He smiled at me and adjusted his glasses. Gray never really smiled unless he was alone with Ink and I.
I smiled back before walking back into the kitchen. Ink was still drawing at the table. However, he wasn't supposed be drawing right now. He was supposed to be eating something small to retain nourishment for him and PJ.
Me: Ink.
Ink: Yes?
I placed an orange in front of him, making sure that he actually saw it. Ink groaned.
Ink: I'm don't feel hungry.
Me: You have to eat. The doctor said it's required.
Ink released a sigh and mumbled to himself while grabbing the orange. I was the one that made sure Ink did what the doctor told him, since Ink himself gets distracted quite a bit.

I placed the last ingredient on the dish before placing it in the oven so it could stay at a warm temperature.
I looked around for Ink and found him sitting outside on the patio. He was drinking a glass of water while watching Gray draw in a sketchbook. He seemed to be using a flower for reference.
Sitting down next to Ink, I lightly took his hand in mine. Ink looked at me before turning back to Gray.
Me: He's like you.
Ink: What do you mean?
Me: He's in his own world when he's drawing.
Ink lightly giggled to himself.
Me: Let's go back inside, I finished making dinner.
Ink: Alright.
He stood up, stretched before calling Gray. Our child stood up and ran to his mother's side.
I smiled at them as I followed behind. We sat down and ate dinner with small talk.
Once we were finished, Ink took Gray to the shower while I cleaned up the kitchen. Soon after, Gray ready for bed. After Ink and I said goodnight to him, we went to bed ourselves.
I slipped under the sheets. Ink turned around over and cuddled into me which I returned the affection. I kissed my wife lightly on the lips.
Me: I love you.
Ink responded in a tired tone of voice.
I love you too
