If you come back, no matter what people do or say, I will be proud of you for having sense. If you go to France, no matter what YOU do or say, I will lose my youngest son.

If you die, you will simply be another name on a memorial to most. However, to us back at home, you will be over 16 years of hard work and patience ground into the dust. You will be nothing to anyone. Even if you live, you will simply be a distant memory. You won't be allowed back into the house.

I've lost three sons; Richie, Dan and Tom and two sons-in-law; Frankie and Bert. I don't want to lose a sixth boy because that's what you all were; boys. Not one of them were 25 and you're not even 18 Will!

You don't know what it's like to lose a child. It hurts. It's like having all of your hard work destroyed in one fatal swoop. We all feel empty here. Me, your sisters, your nephew and nieces. Everyone of us has felt lose but none more than me.

Your Mother always wanted a house full of children It was her final wish; 'Make sure the children are always happy and surrounded by loving children'.
