Before I disappear
No one's p.o.v
Ezra opened his eyes. After he looked through the force one last time to make sure everyone else was asleep he got off of bed and out of his room. Quietly he left the ship. As soon as he stepped out, a freezing breeze went through him. Ezra shivered since he was still on his pajamas and he was not wearing his socks and shoes. Even though he was cold he started walking. As he was walking, he was looking around and noticed that some lothcats were following him. When he was far enough from the ship he sat on the ground. He looked at his right hand that was holding Kanan's mask. He smiled a little remembering today's events.
Hera's voice was still echoing through his mind.
Is he gone now? I mean... really gone?
Ezra looked up to the twin moons shining on the sky. Memories filled his head. Memories of him being scared and alone, memories of the time when those twin moons were his only comfort. But, then something changed. Something happened. Kanan. He changed everything. A sense of guilt spread through Ezra remembering Malacore. After what happened in that mission Ezra kept everyone in distance. Especially Kanan. He couldn't believe he lost so much time with the stupid holocron instead of spending it with Kanan. Then more memories of him being mean or harsh on Kanan ran through his mind. Why did he had to be so blind? It didnt matter now. He was gone.
Ezra felt tears rolling down his face. He had to be strong in front of the others, for their shake. Especially Hera's. But, now that he was alone, he let go completely. He broke down, sobbing and holding Kanan's mask close to his chest. He felt something warm on his side. He looked beside him to see that a lot of lothcat had curled up close to him. He smiled tears still falling from his eyes.
He looked at the mask again.
"I miss you" he said as more tears formed.
"I was so mean to you at times, I took you for granted. I thought you were always going to be here. But, now you're gone and I'm feel so sorry for all the time I hurted you or frustrated you"
Ezra sighed.
"I know what I have to do. I just can't find the will. If I make this choice, I might not see the crew or Lothal for years. I know this is the right path. You showed me. I have to let go. I have to let it all go. Like I let you go. This was the lesson"
Ezra chuckled
"Even after your death you did not stop teaching me, huh?"
Then he saddened.
"I just wanted to let you know that I will never forget you. Every time I'm happy or sad, every time I cry or laugh, every time I use the force, your teachings will be there to guide me. I wish you were here. I wish you could see me transforming into this new person. A person you helped me so much to become. I just wanted to let you know all those things before...... before I disappear" Ezra said as the last tears left his eyes and he tightened his grip on the mask. He looked down, until he felt something through the force. A voice.
As long as the force is with you, I will be with you as well.
Ezra felt something warm welling up all over his body. He smiled whipping the tears that were left on his face. He sat up and made his way back to the ship but as he was walking, he could swear that he felt someone having his hand on his shoulder.
