Chapter 16

"Are you sure we're going the right way," Seonghwa asked, clinging tightly to Hongjoong as they rode through the bush.

"Positive, you can see little trails from where we rode through earlier," Yunho replied.

"Where the hell could they have gone," Hongjoong groaned, continuing to ride and look around.

"Oh my god. There's a body, there's a lot of bodies," Seonghwa gasped pointing up ahead where there were indeed many dead bodies. After Hongjoong scanned them, he let out a breath of relief as he noted they were all in black clothes and wore the mark of Balhae. Hongjoong and Yunho slowed the horses to a stop in the middle of the clearing where the bodies lay.

"Guys, over here," Yunho called out. Hongjoong quickly brought the horse over, stopping and looking at what Yunho was looking at.

"Oh my god, it's Byeol," Seonghwa gasped. Hongjoong took a deep breath to calm down, looking around to see if he could notice anything else.

"Do you think someone got hurt? Maybe they went back to look after them," Seonghwa said.

"No, they wouldn't do that. The knights know not to go back to a previously attacked place. They would've gone to the nearest town to regroup and check up on everyone," Hongjoong said.

"Where's the nearest town," Seonghwa asked.

"It's 15 minutes from here, follow me," Yunho said, turning around and galloping off. Hongjoong quickly turned his horse and followed along. Within less than 10 minutes, they were riding into the town. Yunho and Hongjoong rode the horses to a nearby stable for visitors and stopped, dismounting quickly. Seonghwa grabbed Hongjoong's hand softly and dropped down as well. The stableman walked up lazily before his eyes widened and he bowed down quickly.

"Your Highness, what can I do for you," he asked.

"I would like you to take these two horses and keep them looked after for me," Hongjoong said.

"Of course Your Highness," he nodded quickly.

"Also, have you seen any other Knights coming through here in the past few hours," Hongjoong asked.

"Um, I didn't personally see them but people were saying they rode in here in a rush. Something about them rushing to the infirmary because one of them was hurt. The infirmary is down the street and to the left," the man said. Hongjoong glanced back at Yunho, seeing a matching worry in his eyes.

"Thank you, you've been a great service," Hongjoong said before the three of them quickly left, hurrying down the street. It didn't take long for them to find the infirmary and they didn't hesitate to rush inside. Hongjoong rushed to the front desk, knocking on the bench to alert the person waiting. They looked up and their eyes narrowed before widening and they stood hastily to bow.

"Y-Your Highness," she stuttered.

"I need to know if any Knights came in here today with any sort of injury," Hongjoong said quickly. The lady quickly looked down at the book in front of her, scanning before nodding.

"There was a Choi San admitted just a bit over an hour ago," she said with a nod. Seonghwa's heart skipped a beat in worry and he subconsciously reached out for Hongjoong's hand but quickly caught himself and pulled his hand back.

"What was San admitted for," Hongjoong asked, trying to keep his voice steady and not panic too much. For all they know, San could've just gotten a nick and needs some stitches.

"Stab wound to the abdomen, he's in surgery right now," she replied. Yunho gasped, Seonghwa was silent in shock and Hongjoong sucked in a breath. He tried his best to keep his breathing steady so he could continue talking but his breath caught in his throat and he begun to panic. A stab to an abdomen, that's bad, that's really bad. Jongho's stab in the shoulder was the worst injury they've had in a while and this is a hundred times worse. Yunho quickly stepped forwards and wrapped his arms around Hongjoong's waist, tugging him back and moving in front of him to block him from the receptionist's view. Seonghwa frowned worriedly, desperately wanting to pull Hongjoong into a reassuring hug. He himself was panicked but he was holding onto the hope that San would pull through as he's strong. It's the only thing he can think about to keep himself from panicking like Hongjoong.

"Were there others that came with San," Yunho asked.

"Yeah, they're right through the curtains down that hall," the lady said. Yunho and Seonghwa quickly directed Hongjoong down the hall and through the curtains mentioned. Yeosang and Mingi's heads snapped up when the curtain moved and they were shocked to see Hongjoong, Seonghwa and Yunho hurrying in. Jongho opened his eyes and slowly lifted his head, frowning when he noticed the state of panic Hongjoong was in. Hongjoong barely noticed the others in the room as he moved to the corner of the room, trying to take deep breaths to clam down. San can get through this. He's strong, one of the strongest people he knows.

"Joong," Yeosang said quietly. Hongjoong's spun around quickly, his eyes finding his little brothers as he let out a sob of relief. He rushed forwards as Yeosang slipped off the bed and engulfed them in a tight hug. Yeosang was ok, he was safe and uninjured. Yeosang starting sobbing in his arms and he switched to big brother mode, stopping himself from crying and consoling Yeosang instead as he rubbed his back.

"It's gonna be ok Angel, Sannie's strong. If anyone is going to pull through, it's him and if he can't, then we still know he tried his hardest to fight through," Hongjoong said softly. Seonghwa quickly moved over and placed his hand on Yeosang's shoulder, squeezing gently in reassurance. Yeosang continued to sob, not just worried about San but also the younger boy that he grew up with.

"San's strong, so be strong for him," Hongjoong whispered.

"Guys, where's Wooyoung," Yunho asked, staring at the bed that was previously sporting three people. Three people, not four. No one said anything but Hongjoong paused and looked up, glancing to see Wooyoung indeed wasn't there.

"He probably went to the bathroom," Hongjoong shrugged, making Yeosang cry harder. Mingi started crying as well, thinking back to the younger servant being taken. He should've gone after him but the odds of being successful were too low. Yunho gasped and hurried over slipping onto the bed and pulling Mingi into his arms. Mingi quickly curled up and clung to him tightly, sobbing into his chest.

"What's going on? Jongho, what aren't you telling us," Hongjoong asked worriedly, turning to the Knight in the bed. He's usually the most put-together out of them, the best at handling issues without breaking down.

"Wooyoung's gone, they took him. We were fighting and I was split up from Yeosang and they tried to grab him, so San went over to protect him. He had to leave Wooyoung's side and they took him while he was vulnerable. Wooyoung screamed but none of us could get to him. San got distracted by the scream and lost focus, that's when he got stabbed," Jongho explained quietly. Hongjoong's heart stopped, Seonghwa started crying and Yunho tightened his hold on Mingi. Hongjoong slowly let go of Yeosang and stepped back, his mind going numb. Wooyoung's been taken. Kind, innocent, loving Wooyoung. This is the kid that he grew up with, the annoying little shit who he never admits but he loves to death. Wooyoung has become as much his little brother as Yeosang is and even though he tries to hide it, he thinks it's pretty obvious that he has a soft spot for him.

"I uh, I'll be back," Hongjoong muttered before spinning around and leaving the room briskly. Seonghwa turned around and quickly rushed after him, despite still crying himself. Hongjoong rushed down the halls, his breathing in quick, short pants before he ducked into an empty room. It's been years since he last had a panic attack, but he could feel it careening straight for him. He tried his best to calm his breathing down, but he couldn't and instead fell to his knees, bracing himself on the floor with one arm and clutching at his chest with the other. Seonghwa quickly ran over and knelt down when he noticed the state the Prince was in.

"Hongjoong, you need to try and calm down," he said quickly.

"N-No, I c-can't. H-Hwa Wooyoung's g-gone. Th-they took h-him," Hongjoong gasped.

"I know, I know. But you panicking right now isn't going to help anything. We need to make sure San makes it and then we're going to figure out how to get our kid back," Seonghwa said. Hongjoong froze in confusion, his breath catching as he thought over what Seonghwa said.

"K-Kid," he questioned, his breathing calming down as he was pulled back off the ledge of the panic attack.

"Yeah, I mean. All of them are like our kids in a way, don't you think," Seonghwa said softly. A small chuckle escaped Hongjoong's lips before he burst into sobs and reached out for Seonghwa. Seonghwa quickly moved forwards and hugged him tightly, pulling him close in his arms.

"H-He's gonna d-die. My k-kid's gonna be k-killed," he cried. Seonghwa's eyes welled up with tears and he just pulled Hongjoong closer as he cried quietly as well.

"W-We'll find him," he whispered. Hongjoong nodded and clutched Seonghwa tighter, wanting all the comfort he could get. Seonghwa sniffled and tucked his head into Hongjoong's neck, trying to calm himself down.

"We'll find him," Hongjoong whispered, moving his hand up to card through Seonghwa's hair, trying to calm him down a bit more.

"S-San," Seonghwa mumbled.

"Sannie is strong, he can pull through. We just have to wait and pray that he's going to be ok," Hongjoong whispered, nuzzling his nose against Seonghwa's cheek.

"I don't want them to die," Seonghwa said, his voice small. Hongjoong leant back slightly and gently grabbed Seonghwa's jaw, turning his head before resting his forehead against the elder's softly.

"We won't let them ok. Have faith," Hongjoong whispered. Seonghwa sniffled and nodded, letting his as slip closed. They stay like that for a minute or two, just calming down in each other's embrace, matching each other's breathing.

"We need to go back now Star. The others are probably worried, and they need us to look after them," Hongjoong said softly. Seonghwa took in one last deep breath before nodding and pulling away. They both stood up and left the room they were in, quickly going to the original room they were in. Mingi and Yunho were still cuddled up on the bed, Mingi resting his head on Yunho's chest as Yunho rubbed his shoulder comfortingly. Jongho was on the bed next to them, sitting up against the headboard with Yeosang curled up in his arms.

"I'm sorry for running out like that," Hongjoong apologized.

"It's fine. I'm pretty sure we all panicked when we realised what happened," Jongho said quietly. Seonghwa felt his heart break slightly at how dull and exhausted the youngest sounded. He walked over to the bed and sat on the chair next to it, slipping his hand into Jongho's. Jongho turned his head to glance at Seonghwa and he felt his eyes water but he didn't let the tears fall, instead just squeezing the hand in his own.

"All we can do now is wait and not panic. We need to find out how San is before we can figure out how to get Wooyoung back," Hongjoong said, moving to sit at the foot of the bed.

"Joong," Yeosang whispered, holding out his hand. He wanted to have his big brother close, to have that extra comfort with him.

"I don't think I'll fit," Hongjoong pointed out. It was a pretty big bed, but there's already four people on it.

"Just lay on top of someone, you too Seonghwa," Yunho said. Hongjoong glanced over at Seonghwa who nodded quickly, wanting nothing more than to have his family close. The two of them crawled quickly onto the bed, Seonghwa settling on top of Yunho and Mingi while Hongjoong squeezed between Jongho and Mingi. Together they all cuddled up, holding each other tight and just hoping that San would make it and they would be able to find Wooyoung in time.

~~~~~
Pain, that's all San felt as he came back to his senses. His side felt like it was on fire and his body was bathed in sweat. He tried to open his eyes but he couldn't, he didn't have the strength. Instead he was just laying there for an unknown period of time, pain coursing through his veins. He doesn't know how long he was like that for but after some time he felt something soft and gentle on his cheek, the first thing he felt that wasn't pain. The soft thing on his cheek rubbed gentle circles into it, making San feel safe despite the darkness he was enveloped in. He desperately wanted to do something to reach out, to try and get out of the darkness but he couldn't make himself move.
"It's ok San, you're gonna be ok," Jongho whispered as he noticed the tears starting to trail down his brother's cheeks. San came out of surgery about an hour ago and they had all been relieved when they found out he was going to live. The doctors gave him a special ointment that would help speed up the healing process, which is a good thing because the minute San wakes up, he'll be looking for Wooyoung and when he finds out he isn't here, he won't stop until he get's him back.
"You just take the time you need to get better San, I'll be waiting here with you and so will the others," Jongho whispered, slipping his hand into San's. There was a small knock on the door before it opened and Hongjoong walked inside.
"Anything new," he asked as he closed the door behind himself.
"He cried, but other than that no," Jongho replied. Hongjoong sighed and sat on the other side of San's bed, moving his hand to card through the younger's hair. He's worried about Wooyoung yes, but he was also deeply worried about San. From what he heard from the other's, the Balhae Knights took Wooyoung without hurting him which means they may be looking to hold him for information or leverage but San was stabbed and had a high chance of dying.
"Stay with us Sannie, just pull through for me Darling," Hongjoong whispered before leaning down and placing a kiss to San's forehead. San's hand twitched slightly in Jongho's, making the younger gasp.
"What's wrong," Hongjoong asked quickly.
"His hand just squeezed mine. Do whatever you just did again," Jongho said quickly.
"I don't know what I did. I was just talking to him," Hongjoong said.
"Well keep talking, or kiss him again, I dunno," Jongho said. Hongjoong didn't really know what to do but he was happy that San was reacting so he decided to keep talking.
"That's it Sannie, I know you're in there. If you could come back to us, wake up maybe, I would really appreciate it," he said softly.
San desperately tried to open his eyes, to wake up so he could show the Prince he was fine, so he could get some comfort to try and get rid of the pain.
"We're here for you Sannie. Just open those eyes for me please Darling," Hongjoong whispered and San felt him place another kiss to his forehead. He whined desperately, trying to open his eyes but it was still too hard.
"That's it San, you've got this," Jongho encouraged.
"Come on Darling, just a little more," Hongjoong whispered, running his fingers through the younger's hair again. He watched as San's eyes fluttered before slipping open, his soft black eyes looking up at him. Hongjoong's eyes welled up with tears as he let out a stuttered breath of relief. Jongho squeezed San's hand tightly, relieved that his brother was going to be ok.
"Hi Darling, how're you feeling," Hongjoong asked softly, trying not to let his tears fall. He isn't usually one to cry a lot but he thought San was going to die.
"H-Hurts," San whimpered, tears falling down his face. His stomach felt like it was on fire but he didn't understand why, nor did he understand why he was in an unfamiliar room.
"What hurts," Jongho asked quickly.
"D-Down there," San cried, placing his hand on his stomach.
"San, do you remember what happened," Hongjoong asked him, realising that San seemed to be acting like he didn't know why he was hurt.
"No," San said shaking his head.
"You were stabbed San, by a Knight of Balhae," Jongho explained. San sniffled and turned to him, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion.
"Stabbed," he questioned quietly. He thought back to what happened, trying to remember. It was blank for a few seconds before everything came rushing back. There was a scream and he got distracted, then he was stabbed. Someone screamed. Oh god. His eyes went wide and he begun to panic as he remembered exactly what happened.
"San. San calm down," Jongho said quickly, tightening his grip on his hand as he started to struggle.
"N-No. No. Wooyoung. Where's Wooyoung," San asked quickly, looking up to Hongjoong. Hongjoong's heart broke at the panic and fear in San's eyes.
"San just calm down," he said softly. San's chest tightened at the Prince's words, understanding it meant something was wrong.
"H-Hongjoong, where is he. Where's W-Woo. Wh-Where's my baby," San choked out.
"San," Hongjoong whispered, not wanting to cause him anymore panic.
"WHERE IS HE," San yelled, shoving Jongho's hand from his and sitting up, crying out slightly as his side hurt. The door was suddenly swung open as the other four ran through, having heard San's cries. San turned his head to face them, the tears still streaming down his face.
"Where's W-Wooyoung. Why, why isn't he here. Where is he," San cried out distraught.
"San, jus-."
"WHERE IS YOUNGIE," San yelled.
"He was taken San. The Balhae Knights have him," Yunho said softly. San let out a harsh, choked sob, feeling like his heart was being ripped from his chest.
"Oh god, oh my god. No. N-No," San cried. Hongjoong quickly sat on the bed, pulling San into his arms as he sobbed harshly into his chest.
"I'm sorry Sannie, I'm so sorry," he whispered.
"Y-Youngie," San cried. Jongho's heart cracked at the cries from his brother and though he had never felt what he was feeling, one glance at Yeosang had him understanding what San was most likely going through.
"I'm sorry Sannie, but we'll do everything we can to get him back. I promise," Hongjoong said, holding San tightly. San shook his head, his grip tightening on Hongjoong's robes.
"Th-They're gonna k-kill him," San cried.
"Not yet they won't San. They're going to try and get information from him or they're going to keep him until we come after them. They most likely want me and just took Wooyoung for collateral," Hongjoong said.
"H-He's a servant Joong, they're n-not going to get anything," San cried.
"They don't know that though San. Wooyoung was wearing some of your clothes, the clothes of a Knight. Wooyoung knows enough about me that if it comes to it, he can give them some information," Hongjoong said.
"H-He'd never do that," San said, shaking his head.
"He would if they threaten him enough," Yunho said quietly. He didn't want to state the obvious, that they would torture him for information but it seemed San had already drawn the conclusion.
"Oh god, what if they torture him," San asked sadly.
"They wouldn't torture him much because he isn't equip to withstand torture. He will give up the information pretty quickly and that gives us enough time to find him," Hongjoong said softly. San whimpered again and clung tightly to Hongjoong, trying not to think about the love of his life being tortured.
"I'm sorry." San looked up, everyone else turning to face Mingi who was crying. Yunho quickly wrapped an arm around his waist in comfort.
"I'm so sorry," Mingi cried. San sniffled and furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
"Why're you sorry? Y-Youngie was my responsibility," San said.
"I could've gone after him, but I didn't. I wanted to get him back but the odds of me getting to him without him being hurt were low and you had a sword in you. I needed to get you to a hospital," Mingi said. The first emotion San felt at his words was anger for him not protecting Wooyoung, but that thought left immediately. This wasn't Mingi's fault, he was just trying to protect everyone, keep them all safe.
"Minmin, come here," San said with a soft sniffle, holding out his arm. Mingi quickly moved from Yunho's embrace and over to the bed, sitting down and hugging him tightly.
"I'm so sor-."
"Don't be Mingi. It's not your fault. You did what you were supposed to do. You took the option that protected everyone the most," San interrupted softly, rubbing his hand up and down Mingi's back.
"A-Are you sure," Mingi asked uncertainly.
"I'm positive Gi, it's not your fault," San said softly, cuddling his head into his neck.
"What happened is no one's fault. We all tried to protect each other as much as we can, and we're going to get Wooyoung back," Seonghwa said.
"We need to go now," San said quickly.
"Not yet Sannie, you're still hurt. The ointment they gave you will speed up the healing, but you still need some more time. We will wait until tonight, then we'll start planning what we're going to do and we can get him back in the morning," Hongjoong said quickly.
"That's too long Joong," San said shaking his head and turning to face him.
"We can't go any sooner Darling, we need everyone back up to full health and we need to figure out where they're going to take him," Hongjoong said.
"B-But he might get hurt," San said worriedly.
"I know Darling, but this is the best option. If we just run around with swords raised, he could be worse than just hurt," Hongjoong said gently. San sniffled and begun crying again, turning his head into Mingi's chest. Mingi held him tightly as the smaller boy fell apart once again. Yeosang noticed how upset Jongho was, obviously frustrated that he couldn't do anything to console his brother. Yeosang quickly walked over to him and slipped his arms around his neck, resting his head on top of the youngers. Jongho instantly relaxed at the touch of his love and he lifted his hands to slip them into the Yeosang's. Yunho quickly walked over and sat down, joining Mingi in hugging and consoling the distraught Knight.
"It's gonna be ok Sannie," he whispered, hugging the younger gently. San sniffled and wrapped his arm around him as well, moving his head from Mingi's shoulder to Yunho's but still keeping his other arm around Mingi. Hongjoong quickly slipped off the bed, leaving the three to cuddle together on the bed. He glanced at Yeosang and Jongho, seeing that they were consoling each other which meant they were ok. He sighed and walked past Seonghwa, leaving the room quickly to take a breath. Seonghwa frowned worriedly and followed Hongjoong out and into the room they were resting in before.
"You ok," he asked softly as Hongjoong sat down on the bed.
"Yeah, I'm not the one that was stabbed, or had the love of my life taken away from me," Hongjoong replied with a sigh. He glanced up at Seonghwa before opening his arms and beckoning him over. Seonghwa quickly walked over and sat down, pulling Hongjoong into his side. Hongjoong let out a breath and rested his head on Seonghwa's shoulder.
"I just want everyone to be ok," he said quietly.
"We'll figure it out Hongjoong, we always do," Seonghwa said softly.
"Why did it have to be Wooyoung? Youngie's just an innocent bystander in this. They're going to torture him and he's not going to be able to withstand it. He'll talk and I'm glad he will because it will save him more physical pain but the guilt of him betraying me will eat at him alive," Hongjoong whispered. Seonghwa hummed and moved his hand up to run through Hongjoong's hair.
"It may make him guilty, but it will give us more time and it may also save his life. We can reassure him once everything is over, I just hope they don't hurt him too badly," Seonghwa said. Hongjoong nodded absentmindedly, his mind delving off into picturing what would happen to Seonghwa if he was taken. His arms tightened around Seonghwa, his heartrate accelerating.
"Joong, calm down," Seonghwa whispered, noticing the way Hongjoong's expression changed into one of fear and worry.
"We're going to save Wooyoung," he added. Hongjoong shook his head as he took a deep breath.
"I wasn't thinking about Wooyoung," Hongjoong admitted quietly. Seonghwa furrowed his eyebrows in confusion before it dawned on him and he sighed. He shuffled back onto the bed, leaning against the wall before pulling Hongjoong into his lap. Hongjoong straddled his lap grabbing the bottom of his shirt softly in his hands.
"Look at me Lucky," he said softly. Hongjoong sighed before lifting his head up and looking into Seonghwa's eyes, relaxing slightly.
"I'm here Hongjoong, and I'm not going anywhere. I know you're scared that something will happen to me, but I'm in no more danger than I would usually would be," Seonghwa said softly.
"But it's not like usual Star," Hongjoong whispered, looking up at him.
"Why isn't it like usual? What's changed," he asked in confusion.
"Star, a lot changed. I-I kissed you, I l-love you," Hongjoong said shakily. Seonghwa smiled softly and slipped his arms under Hongjoong's thighs, pulling him closer and nuzzling his nose against his.
"Hongjoong, I don't want the fear of me getting hurt to distract you," Seonghwa said softly.
"It won't, I just want you protect you," Hongjoong said.
"I know. And trust me you do, you always protect me," Seonghwa said.
"But what if I can't. Wh-What if one day I can't get there in time. Or if someone finds out how much I care about you and they use y-you to get to me. They h-hurt yo-." He was cut off abruptly when Seonghwa leaned forwards and captured his lips with his own. Hongjoong squeaked slightly in surprise before melting into the kiss and slipping his arms around Seonghwa's neck. Seonghwa moved his hands up to rest gently on Hongjoong's hips, holding him softly. They kissed softly for a bit longer before pulling apart. Hongjoong let out a breath and rested his head on Seonghwa's shoulder.
"There's always that risk of one of us getting hurt, but if you live in fear then you can't truly live," Seonghwa whispered softly.
"I just don't want you hurt Star," Hongjoong whispered.
"I don't want you hurt either Joong, but you're perfectly equip to look after yourself. I'm not going to stop you from doing what you were born to do. I'm just as safe now as I was before you professed your love to me," he said softly. Hongjoong blushed and buried his head in Seonghwa's neck in embarrassment.
"Don't go shy on me now, you're the one that asked to kiss me first," Seonghwa said with a shrug. Hongjoong smiled softly before he lifted his head to look at Seonghwa.
"And I don't regret that at all, but these feelings are new to me and they kind of scare me," Hongjoong admitted.
"You don't need to be scared Joong," Seonghwa said softly.
"I know, but I care too much about you Seonghwa. I always have but it wasn't until I thought I lost you that I realised just how much I care. You know how you've mentioned that you've never done anything with anyone before, never kissed anyone," Hongjoong asked. Seonghwa frowned slightly before nodding for him to continue.
"Well, I haven't done that either. I've never, kissed anyone, before you," Hongjoong added quietly. Seonghwa eyes widened in shock, not expecting that at all.
"You've never kissed anyone? But what about all those girls your mu-." Seonghwa cut himself off abruptly, wincing as he felt Hongjoong tense in his arms.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have brought her up," he said quietly.
"No, it's fine. I just, I shouldn't care because it's been over 2 years but I just, I miss her sometimes," Hongjoong whispered.
"I'm sorry," Seonghwa said softly.
"It's ok. But yeah, she used to set me up with Princess's but I was never into it. Not really my type," Hongjoong said with a chuckle.
"Yeah, what is your type," Seonghwa asked softly.
"Hmm. Let's see, a guy for starters, tall, soft light brown hair, clear tanned skin, beautiful black eyes and the perfect smile," Hongjoong whispered, using his hand to delicately tuck a strand of hair behind Seonghwa's ear. Seonghwa blushed slightly, his heart fluttering at the Prince's words.
"Guess I'm pretty lucky, I fit the type," he said quietly.
"Nah, I think it's more the type fits you. Perhaps if your hair was different, or your eyes were different, maybe my type would be different as well," Hongjoong said with a shrug.
"God we're so cheesy aren't we. San and Wooyoung aren't nearly as bad as us," Seonghwa said with a small chuckle, shaking his head.
"Yeah, they're definitely worse," Hongjoong said with a smile, before it slipped off his face quickly.
"We need to get Wooyoung back, for all of us," Hongjoong whispered. Seonghwa sighed sadly but nodded.
"We have a few more hours until nightfall. A few more hours of rest before everything goes to hell and we probably end up fighting for our lives," Seonghwa said. Hongjoong took a deep breath before nodding, resting his head back down on Seonghwa's shoulder.
"Let's just stay like this for a while longer, before everything goes down. I just want to have you close to me for a bit longer," Hongjoong said.
"Of course Joong, everything's going to be ok, it always is," Seonghwa whispered. Hongjoong nodded and let out a breath, nestling his nose into Seonghwa's neck.
"I love you Star," he whispered.
"I love you too Lucky," Seonghwa replied,holding him tighter and resting his head on top of his. They're about to gointo war, there's no guarantee that Hongjoong will be completely safe so he'lltake what he can get, to have him safe in his arms for the last time inpossible a little while. He just hopes nothing too bad will happen to anyone,to his family.
