"So James, what is it you do for fun on this planet?" James and Torunn were walking downtown together just talking, trying to find something to do. James was busy trying to calm his racing heart. As soon as he left school his mind did fall on his mother, Miles might be right. She might quite literally kill him.

"I um I guess if you are asking me, I'd say playing mini-golf," he answered.

"Mini Golf? Why is it mini-golf? I have always wondered." James looked at her raising an eyebrow. "You see my father was quiet intent on me learning the cultural aspect of humans, however as you can tell I just can't seem to understand it. For example, the dating app with the name Tinder. You are basically putting yourself up for auction for a potential mate. It is almost like slavery."

"Online dating is way different from slavery." He said. "With this, you have a choice and if you didn't like how the date went, well you don't have to stay with them."

"See on Asgard it is tradition to keep your first love. Well, not a lot of people do that. My father is, unfortunately, one of the exceptions to the tradition. He was always in love with my mother,  until some human girl took him away from her. He ignored her, so she left to do her own world-saving, she ended up back here on Earth and that is where she reunited with my father. He was shamed, the human dumped him, she was not anything too exciting though. From the stories my uncle tells me, she was quite annoying a bit of a handful. Not worth the time of a king."

"But it had a happy ending," James said. "Your parents found their way back to each other."

"I think they have always been in love with one another." She said. "They never truly stopped caring for one another."

"But you believe you will marry your first love?"

"Even if your paths are diverted, you always find a way back to your first love. I plan on marrying the first man I fall for." She said with utter confidence. "Do you not believe in the power of your first love James?"

"Well I have never been in love, so I can't say I have experience on the subject. I do know, however, that my parents weren't each other's first love." He said.

"They aren't? Their bond is so strong. They must be each other first loves."

"My father was from a different time, frozen in ice." Torunn nodded, she knew the story, her father loved to talk about Jame's father a lot, it became a bit obsessive. "My father used to love another."

"I can't see that." She said, she only knew the love of your first love.

"When he got trapped in the ice, she moved on, she fell in love and she lived her life. My dad never blamed her, it was about 70 years, she had no reason to mourn him forever. He thought he'd never love again, never feel alive again, but as he likes to tell me all the time when he met my mom it's like he could see color again. She gave him a reason to want to keep moving forward. While it didn't start out as love, he knew he was going to fall for her, the way she made him feel was almost life-changing."

"Your parents have quite the love story, James." She said. "Although I don't agree with their terms of marriage, they had different levels of circumstance, I am sure he was your mother's, first love."

"As far as she likes to say," James confirmed.

"See first love." She gestured.

"I guess you are right. But like I too said, I'll know when I know and it might be the first person I fell in love with."

"Fell? That's past tense. James, have you already fallen for someone?" Her face was of pure shock and disbelief, almost jealous.

"What? Oh no, I uh... I meant to fall." He said. "When I am not in school I guess I lose grammar skills." He said. She could only nod her head and purse her lips.

"Besides I am far too young. My mom told me she is the only woman I'm allowed to love from now and forever." He laughed.

"Your mother thinks highly of you James."

"Yeah, sometimes it can be overwhelming." He said. "She's protective. My uncle calls her 'Mama Widow."

"She's a fierce warrior," Torunn said. "You and your sister have a wonderful role model."

"Thank you." He said. "Now do you want to go play some mini-golf? Since we aren't classy enough for regular golf?" She laughed as his joke and nodded her head, James smiled at her and lead her down the street. Suddenly all worries out the window.

"Where is James? I swear to god I am gonna murder that kid!" Morgan said as she began messing with the necklace around her neck.  It was a copper red, and on the back had an arc reactor on it.

"Maybe his mommy didn't let him come to school," Nicole said.

"Don't make fun of her, I feel like she'll hear it and I am scared of what she'll do when she finds out," Willa said. If they were all being honest, some of the things Natasha said they didn't know if she was joking or not. Natasha liked messing with them.

"Whatever. Morgan, why do you even care where Rogers is?" Nicole asked.

"Because we have a class together and I'd prefer to have someone there." She said.

"Really?" Willa asked. "Or is it because you want to make sure he isn't with the blonde goddess."

"Blonde goddess? I think that's a little too far." Morgan said.

"Well is literally a goddess and she is blonde, I am just stating the facts," Willa claimed.

"I don't care who she is. I am in no way shape or form threatened by her because I have nothing to be threatened about. I don't like Rogers." She claimed.

"Right and I just love Willa's outfit today." Nicole rolled her eyes.

"Hey!" Willa exclaimed.

"What? You know it's true."

"Yeah... I know." She said. "it was laundry day... no one told me. Apparently, my mom made my dad stop reminding me of things."

"Back to the topic at hand," Nicole started. "You are jealous. You don't like Torunn."

"Okay, maybe I am not a fan of Torunn. But it has nothing to do with James. I just get an off vibe about her."

"You get an off vibe because she's out here stealing your man," Nicole claimed.

"He's not and will never be my mine."

"Not if you have the attitude about it."

"Can you both just quit it?" Morgan saw Miles walking up to them, she wanted to end this conversation before Miles added his annoying opinions in the mix. "Nothing is gonna happen. He's my friend and I'd just like to know where the hell he is at. It's our first day back and I'd like to know where the hell James Grant Rogers is at." At his name, Miles turned the other direction. "Hold it right there Lang."

"Who Lang? Me Lang?" He asked.

"Yes, you! you idiot." Willa said. "You know something. Something about James don't ya?"

"Depends on what it is you mean. I know a lot about James, I know he hated broccoli because it makes him feel like a giant eating tree. I know he still sleeps with a teddy bear at night."

"Not any of the crap," Willa said.

"But we will have to go back to the bear later." Nicole butted in.

"Where is the Miles?" Morgan asked. "Where did Rogers run off to."

"Run? What made you think he ran?" Miles asked. His behavior was off, usually, he'd be teasing Morgan whenever he was around, but right now he seemed very skittish.

"We aren't gonna ask again," Nicole said. "Where is he?"

"Threatening won't make me say anything."

"So you're admitting you know something?" Morgan asked. "Come on Miles. What do you know? we all know that you hate keeping secrets. So why keep them from us?"

"Maybe because you guys are threatening me and you are all woman. My father told me if a woman threatened me I should be very scared. It's right about now that I agree with what he says."

"No one is gonna hurt anyone," Morgan claimed. "Just tell us where he went." Miles's eyes ran from Nicoles to Willa's than over at Morgan.

"Fine! I'll tell you what you want to know! Just promise you won't tell Aunt Nat, I don't want to be skinned alive."

"We make no promises," Willa said.

"Okay fine. He ditched school because Torunn showed up. Asked him to show her around town."

"See I could have told you that!" Nicole said. "No, wait I did!"

"I promised I'd cover for him. It seems I failed."

"Yeah you did, now get lost, we have girl things to talk about," Willa said. Miles muttered under his breath something about abusing me before marching off. "Are you okay Morgan? He's practically cheating on you."

"What? No, I am fine. I am just angry that he left me to do this class by myself." She said, although there was something off about her voice that her friends were clearly picking up on.

"We can beat him up for you if you want? Wouldn't mind at all." Nicole offered with a smile.

"No! I don't want you to beat him up because I am fine!" She claimed. "Seriously I am great. Rogers can hang out with whoever the hell he wants to hang out with. Fine by me. I perfectly okay with it."

"Really?" Willa asked. "Because from the sound of your voice I almost feel like you are not okay with it."

"Well, you clearly don't understand me then, because I am fine. Perfectly okay." She said. "In fact, I can prove to you I don't care about him at all." She said. The girls raised their eyebrows. "Because I have a crush."

"You do?" Both girls asked.

"Yeah. I do. And it's not Rogers." She claimed.

"Oh really?" Nicole asked. "Then who is might I ask that has somehow stole the heart of the great Morgan Stark?"

"His name is umm..." The girls looked at her expectingly. You see Morgan was not a good liar. Well in some cases she was great. However, right now she felt a real need to prove her friends wrong, a need to make them understand that whatever James did in his not so free time was all up to him. It didn't and would never affect her in any sort of way except the way of a friend worrying about their friend. That's all she and James will ever be and she needed to convince the girls of that as well.

She to properly come up with a good lie she needed to think hard. It couldn't be Miles because he was like her younger brother, they argued way too much. Besides he was too short for her. It also couldn't be some random person because she never talked to anyone else because according to her anyone besides her friends was either basically the same person and boring, or just completely toxic people. So it had to be someone in her circle and it that really only left her with one possible option, even if it wasn't the best option she couldn't stop the name from rolling off her tongue.

"Nate."
