It has been a week, and all devices were officially complete, it took a day for each device for each kid. They would be own as a necklace of a sort, each kid had a different color that corresponds to their powers. These would protect them until they learned to control their powers from the help of their parents.
They were not going to start training right away, because there was something they needed to get back to. School.
The kids had not seen each other since they received their bracelets because their parents dragged them home in an attempt of getting back to normal. Besides, if Natasha didn't get her kids home soon she was going to lose it.
"Mom. Mom, I am fine I don't need to go to bed," James said as his mother glared at him for coming downstairs.
"James I don't need you falling down the stairs and creating a James shaped hole in the floor." She said. "Back to bed. If you need anything you have a phone. Text me, call me."
"I think you are overreacting," James said and Steve made a face as he ate his sandwich and shook his head.
"I am what?" She asked. James decided it was best he stayed quiet. "No come on, tell me."
"I um," He looked at his father who was shaking his head, he was behind Natasha so she couldn't see him. Or so he thought.
"I'd stop it right now Rogers," She said not taking her eyes off of James. "Come on tell me what I am doing."
"I just think that I am not dying, that I am actually fine." He said and pulled the necklace out of his shirt where it rested on his chest. "This is keeping me, safe mom, meaning I can't get hurt. Besides I have to do something I have to go back to school tomorrow."
"I just don't want you getting hurt, I wouldn't be able to...maybe you should stay home tomorrow, you don't think you're moving a little too fast?"
"I am going to be fine mom," he said. "Trust me, if anyone can master this whole power thing," He put his arm on the counter beside him causing some stuff to fall over, he stumbled trying to catch it all, luckily for him Natasha had quick reflexes. "It's me," he finished with a sigh.
"James sometimes I am very concerned about you." She admitted shaking her head.
"Love you too mom." He smiled.
"You and your father are way too much alike."
"Hey! Should I be taking offense to that?" Steve asked from the table he sat at.
"Don't worry Dad, if anything I should be the one taking offense to it, now you should be honored, being compared to me is just a complete honor!" He said. "Now if you'd excuse me I have way too much homework to catch up!"
"You had a long time to do it," Steve frowned.
"No, I had a long time to procrastinate." he corrected. "Be glad I am actually doing it." With that, he walked away, and Steve stood up and walked to his wife who was watching her teenager walk up the stairs, almost tripping on his way up.
"He'll be fine," he said wrapping his arms around her, Natasha leaned back and put her head on Steve's chest.
"I know I just can't help but worry," she sighed.
"And that's what makes you a good mother," He said kissing her neck slightly.
"Steve the kids are home," She mumbled, feeling him smile as he continued the assault of kisses. "If you aren't gonna stop I suggest we take this to our room."
"Oh Mrs. Rogers the things you do to me," he said as she turned around and kissed him passionately on the lips, only to pull away and walk away, Steve watched her.
"Are you coming or not?" She asked and Steve smiled and then walked after her, whoever said romance dies when you get married obviously weren't as in love as Steve and Natasha.

James was just dropped off at school and he was about to walk into the building. It was almost odd being there again, it wasn't the same anymore. Not like it was worse, he didn't particularly think it could get worse if he was being honest. School is hell on earth. He wished he had taken advantage of more of the days he got to stay home. Being back was something he didn't want to do.
"James!!!" He someone yelled, James turned to see Miles running toward him.
"Hey Miles," he nodded at him.
"Crazy huh? Being back I mean." He clarified. "After what we went through I honestly was hoping we wouldn't have to come back."
"Yeah well thanks to these," He held up the necklace, it was on a small chain and the pendant was circular and red. Thanks to Peter it had his mother's and father's symbol graved in on the back. "We are getting right back to normal."
"Yeah it's ashamed," He laughed. "Hey, man did you know Nicole and Willa are going to a party Friday night?"
"What? We haven't even been back for a day, yet they are already planning parties." James shook his head, Miles was about to respond when someone else called out his name, he turned and raised an eyebrow. "Torunn? What are you doing here?"
"My father told me you were all getting back to normal, and you had to go back to school." She explained. "But I think it's too soon for that."
"What do you mean?"
"How about you take one more day off and show me around town? I am still getting used to everything here and it would be nice to have a guide, I haven't seen much of you since your parents locked you up."
"Yeah... umm I don't know about that." James started.
"His mother will literally kill him." Miles butted in. "I think it's best if you just go."
"His mother? James, what are you five? Why don't you live a little? I thought you were cooling... maybe I'll ask Nate to come with me." She said.
"Nate? Why would you ask him?" James asked.
"Nate offered to show me around whenever I'd like, I think he'd enjoy hanging out with me all day today." She smiled. "Do you know where he is?"
"No.. I mean I will take you!" He said out of nowhere.
"You will?" Both Miles and Torunn said at the same time.
"Yes, of course, I will." He smiled.
"James I don't think that-" Miles was cut off by James.
"Torunn could you give me a moment? I need to talk to my friend." She nodded and he pulled Miles a little bit away. "Man, what gives?"
"I am warning you, James, your mother will murder you, and hide your body. This is a bad idea." He said.
"Come on Miles, where is your sense of adventure?" he asked. "your father used to be a thief! Did you not inherit anything from him?"
"No. Because I am no criminal! My mother told me that if I ever did something like that I'd be skinned alive." he said. "You are going to regret this." Miles looked over at Torunn who was smirking at him. "She's crazy."
"She's not crazy," James turned and Torunn was smiling innocently at him. James lifted his hand to wave and she waved back.
"She's hiding something," Miles said. In fact, Torunn was not hiding something, but she was half princess, and she is pretty much used to getting what she wanted, and right now that was James. Something about the human boy interested her. As for the evil glare at Miles, well she felt almost like Miles and Morgan was in love with James, you can say Torunn didn't understand human's friendships yet. Or whatever Morgan and James were. If she decided James was a potential relationship opportunity she didn't want him to drop her for one of them. She wasn't going to be dumped by a human.
"You're delusional. Look Miles cover for me okay? I am going to show her around." He said.
"Okay fine I'll cover, but don't expect me to be okay with this." He said. "Can I give a speech at your funeral?"
"You're overreacting." James shook his head and thanked miles one more time before rushing off to meet with Torunn.
"I'll remember this moment as the last I saw James Rogers alive and happy. May his soul rest in peace." he shook his head. Being one of James's best friends was hard, more then 54% of the time it required him covering for the idiot. But what was he going to do? James Rogers might just be the death of him.
