Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.
Captain America, Black Widow, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Thor, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Hulk, are all the people that will be in your history books. You know the story, heroes protecting the earth, bringing a balance of peace and love to a corrupted world. Who doesn't know about them?
Kids and adults around the world grow up believing in heroes, believing that no matter what happens they'd be protected. But what happens when the world no longer needs protecting?
After they defeated the evil titan Thanos, Tony Stark and Bruce Banner used a group of stones called the infinity stones, to create a protective layer around the world, protecting it from unwanted visitors and also improving environmental problems. Only a select few have the ability to go through the portal. Protects more people that way.
From the outside they were protected by the Guardians of the Galaxy, the group the often showed up to Earth sharing news of the events all over the Galaxy. Eventually, however, Earth's problems began to wither down.
The world no longer needed this group to protect them anymore, they didn't need a group to be at their beck and call. So with no other choice, and no will to proceed the heroes settled down and started something many of them never had. A family.
While you learn about these heroes in history, these kids learned all they need to know at home.
Life was surely an adventure for these kids, but it wasn't all great all the time. The not so regular teenagers have grown accustomed to the world asking for photos or asking how their parents were, but what they weren't used to, now that they were growing up, was the one question everyone asked them.
"So what next?" James Rogers sat idly in his school counselor's office staring at her blankly as she asked him about his future plans. James Rogers the son of Natasha Romanoff and Steve Rogers. Yeah yeah, he's heard it all before about what an honor it is and how he is going to be exactly like his father, and do great things. But it couldn't be farther from the truth.
"Mrs. Mclever, I don't even know what I am going to have for lunch today." James was not looking to grow up, and as everyone liked to point out, he was not his father. He didn't have a hidden talent, he had no need to do anything. For crying out loud he was a sophomore in high school.
"Listen James, you are growing up quick, and while I'm not telling you to have to come up with a job right now, it's good to have plans, it's good to goals."
"Goals often lead to disappointment."
"Not if you work for them." She said before sighing. "Tell you what James, you take this packet, and you come back to me when you find a job the piques your interest. There is no pressure."
"But there is, you don't understand, no matter what I do people are always gonna be disappointed that I am not him," He sighed.
"No one is asking for you to be your father James." She said. "It's your life, not theirs."
"It's my life until I mess up."
"Don't put too much pressure on yourself. Come back when you are ready okay?" She said James nodded before grabbing his backpack and heading out of her office. He sighed in annoyance. Why did he have to think about life after high school?
He walked over to his locker and shoved his backpack in it before he grabbed his lunch, he groaned when he looked down at the bag. On the bag was a smile doodle and a little note from his mother saying she loved him, he couldn't help but laugh slightly.
"Aww, how cute," A mocking voice broke out behind him and James quickly through his bag in his locker and slammed it shut. He turned to see his best friend laughing.
"It wasn't what you think." He said quickly.
"Right because I didn't just see an adorable note written by your mommy," She smirked.
"You better not tell anyone Morgan." Morgan H. Stark. Daughter of the one and only Tony Stark and Pepper Potts, you know the Millionaires who basically own the world, go on date nights in their iron man suits, and own at least five private islands because why not? She's practically the smartest person in the world.
"Oh I won't... for a price of course, because that is too funny. I should post this."
"No no don't you dare." He didn't understand Morgan's need to tease him all the time, she found too much humor in it for his liking. He and Morgan had been friends since birth, and he could practically write a book on her life.
"You know what dancer boy?" Gosh, you dance one dance with your mother when you're six and suddenly labeled for life. "I won't say a thing. Because I'm just nice like that."
"What Morgan Stark being nice?" Another voice came into play. This was Miles Pym Lang. Son of Hope Van Dyne and Scott Lang, younger brother to Cassie Lang, one of the worlds leading scientists at the moment. She was smart, but not to toot his own horn, he was smarter. Not in that nerdy quantum physics stuff his sister is working on, in hope of recreating a time machine, no he was mechanic. His sister may do the science, but without his design of the machine, she'd be nowhere. But they were a team, completed each other. She was not his rival, his rival was morgan Stark, the only person in the world to match and surpass his level of intelligence. "I must be in some alternate world."
"Well if you were smart enough to create the damn machine you could be... but I did." That's right Morgan recreated a smaller version of the device, told no one and used it to retrieve a stuffed animal she got when she was three. Then destroyed in front of everyone when she returned.
"One of these days stark you're going to regret your words. One day my name will be known all over the world."
"Mine already is," She smirked.
"So is mine," James grunted.
"Not everyone's parents came out of ice for 70 years, created a multi-million-"
"Billion." Morgan smiled.
"Billion." Miles rolled his eyes. "Company." Miles was a jokester in the heart of heart but around Morgan, that's when his competitive side rolled out, that's what he gets from his mother.
"Ahh just the group I've been waiting to see," They turned to see, Nate Francis Barton walked toward them with a smile. Nate Francis Barton is the son of Clint Barton and Laura Barton, unlike his perfect older sibling, Nate like to break the rules and have fun, but if you know him well he's the worlds sweetest guy, not that he'd ever admit it. "Guy's you won't believe who I just met."
"Was it the ghost of death telling you your time is up?" Morgan smiled.
"I once knew a guy, who's best friend's cousin's sister's neighbor's younger brother's best friend's cousin-in law's mother's mother's brother who claimed he met the ghost of death and-"
"I really don't have time for this Lang," Nate stated. "There's a party tonight. Everyone will be there which means we have to be there."
"Can't," James said.
"Why not? James don't you understand this is a once in the lifetime opportunity."
"You say that about everything," Morgan said.
"Everything in life is a once in a lifetime opportunity Morgan, once it's gone you can't get it back it will never be the same again." They all stared at him for a moment.
"Wow, that was deep," Miles stated and applauded him. "Wow that was great you should write a book."
"Fuck off." He rolled his eyes. "Look there are Willa and Nicole, bet they would want to go."
Willa Maximoff Barnes, daughter of Wanda Maximoff and James Barnes. Her parents known across the world, maybe for things they aren't so proud of but they can't change the past. Willa was always down for a party and trouble, which often caused a lot of worry from her parents. But so what? These were the years you don't get back. What's a little grounding gonna do?
Nicole Marie Wilson, daughter of Maria Hill and Sam Wilson. Aka the most boring people on mother earth in her mind. Maria had retired from shield shortly after discovering that she was pregnant. Sam Wilson was the falcon, doing the coolest stunts in the world, that was of course until her mother comment how dangerous it was, so he traded the wings for a boring old car. They didn't understand Nicole's outgoing and devious personality... for the most part. She didn't care what they said, she would not live life on the slow lane.
"Nice try Barton, but just getting Willa and Nicole to go means NOTHING. Those two are partying in the middle of history class."
"Did someone say party?" Nicole asked walking up with a smile lacing her face.
"No." James and Morgan said simultaneously than James continued on. "Beside none of us can go. We have a family dinner."
"You mean snooze fest?" Nate groaned having forgotten about that.
"If our parents want to get together they shouldn't force us to go along with them. This is every week, it's madness. Why can't they be more like other parents and their friends who don't see each other for months at a time." Willa complained. "I say we ditch."
"I am in!" Nicole followed.
"No, I don't need another lecture from my father about how I am turning into him," Morgan said. "Sorry, guys I'm out."
"Me too, my parents are scary when they are mad and I really don't want want to see my father's look of disappointment," James said.
"Unfortunately I am out too," Nate said. "I may not be scared of my parents, but my godmother, on the other hand, is scary AF."
"Your godmother is my mother," James said.
"She you agree with me? she's scary."
"Fine we will go to the stupid dinner," Willa sighed. "don't expect us to enjoy it."
"I guess that means we are all going, even if I was totally down and ready to ditch with you all," Miles said. "Oh darn what a shame."
"We can still ditch if you want to Miles," Nicole said pushing Miles.
"No, we wouldn't want Nate here to be yelled at." He responded quickly, Nick smirked and spoke next.
"No no Lang, if you want to skip out on the dinner let's skip it." He said. "We rarely ever do what you want."
"I know you guys are messing with me and I have to say it's not nice and you guys are fucking jerks."
"James he said a bad language word." Morgan started and James groaned in annoyance.
"Really? Ever since our parents told that story I've been labeled with that?"
"Yep." She answered popping the P. "Now let's go get lunch, I am STARVING."

"You know Dad, think of this as an early step in my future." Sarah Maggie Rogers, James's younger sister, who took a little too much of his mother's personality, and a dab of her fathers. Sarah was old fashion, loved dresses, something he only sees his mother in when they went out, she completed the look with sass and wit. Perfect blend of both of his parents.
"Sarah. You are 10, you don't need to buy a home." He said. "Why would you think about that right now?" Her father, Steve Rogers, of course, had just picked his youngest up from school and was walking with her inside.
"Well I am not saying for you to buy me a house," she stated as a matter of fact.
"Oh yeah? Who's gonna buy it for you." He asked opening the front door for her to walk in.
"Elliot, he said as I will be his wife he is going to spoil me now." She said.
"Wife? What!" he asked. "You are not becoming anyone's wife until you are thirty." He closed the door.
"Steve is that you?" Natasha yelled.
"Yeah it's me, come here and listen to what Sarah is claiming." He said.
"Father I don't know why are against the idea."
"Because you're not getting married to this boy," he said.
"Who's getting married?" Natasha came walking into the living room wearing black jeans and Steve's shirt, she was in the midst of curling her hair for dinner.
"No one," He quickly said.
"I am," Sarah said at the same time.
"I am lost." Natasha said. "take it back and explain."
"Elliot is gifting me, his future wife a house and has promised to support me in every way possible for the rest of my life."
"Wait I thought you liked Hugh."
"I do," She said. "But Hugh isn't gifting me the house."
"That's called gold-digging." James's voice rang out, having returned from school only moments before.
"No. This is what's going to happen. Elliot and I will marry, he will supply me with everything I so care for, but then one tragic day my dear husband goes missing. No clues and no trace of him. The only thing left is a memory." Her parents were watching her confused. "I wait five years to pronounce him dead, that way not to raise suspicion. I remarried two years later."
"I don't even know what to say," Steve said.
"I'd say she's got it all figured out." Natasha was nodding in approval.
"Natasha!" Steve scolded.
"Lighten up babe, she's ten, when she grows up she'll learn from her lesson besides it's funny watching Tony squirm when Elliot promises her stuff." She said. Elliot was Morgan's little brother and Hugh was Nicole's little brother.
"That's mainly why I do it." Sarah laughed. "I don't even want the house Elliot's offering, it's on the ocean and I am not going to die today."
"I'm glad you know not to accept it," Steve said.
"Lighten up dad," She turned to her mother, "Can you curl my hair?"
"Of course." She smiled. "James dress nice will ya?"
"Whatever," James mumbled and walked upstairs.
"go get ready Steve," Natasha said.
"Nat, I am a grown man, I don't need you telling me when I need to get ready."
"Steve." She glared.
"But you know what? I am going to go get ready now." She nodded at her husband who trotted up stairs. When did life get so simple?
