Chapter 4

Tim takes a couple of heavy drags from the marijuana cigarette.

"Careful now." Nate chuckles. "You're just wanting to numb the pain not get stoned."

"Who says I don't." Tim laughs as he blows the smoke into the air.

"Because if this works, we need to break it to the others gently." Nate says as he takes the joint away from the hitman. "You don't need to go out there higher than a kite."

"Yeah, I guess you're right." Tim says as he leans back in his chair and closes his eyes.

"So? How are you feeling?" Nate asks after several minutes.

"You know...." Tim says as he rubs his shoulder. "I think it's actually going to work. I feel calm, my shoulder is not hurting. The nausea is gone. I feel better than I have in months."

"Welp, that's what we were hoping for." Nate smiles.

"You're a genius, Doc." Tim chuckles as he stands from his desk.

~~

"So this order should be here tomorrow right?" Esther asks.

"Yep, it's being shipped overnight." Kirstie answers as she puts away her laptop.

"Now if we could just find out when we're leaving." Adam says.

"Soon I hope. I wanna get out of this place for awhile." Avi replies just as Tim and Nate walk back into the room.

"Well?" Tim says with a smile, rubbing his hands together. "Y'all ain't packing yet?"

Adam eyes his husband suspiciously. Something was different.

"When are we leaving?" Austin asks.

"The day after tomorrow. Is that soon enough for y'all?" Tim asks.

"Hell yeah!" Avi chuckles. "Let's get to packing."

He jumps up, grabbing his wife by the hand and practically drags her upstairs.

"Shall we start packing, my dear?" Tim smiles as he holds his hand down to Adam. He was trying to avoid direct eye contact because he wasn't for sure how bloodshot his eyes were or how dilated they were from the pot.

Everyone, excited to get started, jumps up from where they were sitting and makes a dash for the stairs. Laughing and giggling like a bunch of school kids.

"How long are we staying?" Adam asks as he comes out of his closet with some suitcases.

"Two weeks for sure maybe a little longer." Tim answers from his closet as he searches through his tee shirts. He begins to sing softly to himself.

Adam stops and looks around at Tim's closet. Something strange was definitely going on with his husband. He hadn't seen him this cheery in a long time.

"Are you alright?" Adam asks as Tim comes out carrying several tee shirts.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Why do you ask?" Tim asks as he begins to fold his shirts.

"You're just acting a little weird." Adam says.

Tim only chuckles as he continues to pack.

"Okay, Foust. Freeze." Adam says as he crosses his arms over his chest.

Tim stops right in the middle of folding a shirt. Completely frozen like a statue.

"Are you going to tell me what's going on or do I have to beat it out of you?" Adam asks with raised brows.

"Can I move?" Tim asks with a smirk.

"Honey, I'm serious." Adam says.

"Me too. My arms are getting tired." Tim chuckles.

"Yes, you can move but please tell me." Adam says with a pleading look as he sits down on the bed.

"Okay." Tim sighs as he lays the shirt into the suitcase. He sits down next to his husband. "Nate has found something that helps with my shoulder pain and with my pill addiction."

"Oh, my God. That's great." Adam smiles.

"I feel better right now than I have in a very long time." Tim says as he nervously takes Adam by the hand.

"I'm so happy to hear that. I can definitely tell the difference." Adam says. "What is this miracle drug?"

"Uh, marijuana." Tim says quietly.

"So. That's why you're all happy and stuff? You're stoned?" Adam asks.

"No, I'm not stoned. I just take a couple of drags from a joint and it numbs the pain." Tim answers. "I've lived so long in pain it feels good not to hurt for a little while."

"I can imagine." Adam says softly as he runs a hand through his husband's hair. "I must say, it's good to see you smiling again."

Tim smiles as he leans over, kissing Adam softly.

"Wait. Why did Nate have marijuana and where did he get it?" Adam asks.

"Believe it or not, he said he smokes it every now and then." Tim chuckles. "And he got it from Rob."

"Rob? Wow, he's turning out to be quite a surprise." Adam laughs and then bites his bottom lip. "If I remember correctly, Mr. Foust, we had some pretty awesome sex when we were smoking."

"Oh, I remember." Tim nods with a smile. "I'll share it with you."

~~

"Are you going to leave me any room to pack some of my stuff?" Avi asks as he sees the suitcase almost full.

"There's your suitcase over there, Silly." Kirstie giggles as she points to another suitcase.

"Oh." Avi chuckles as he walks over and picks up the other luggage. "I'm so glad you got some new luggage."

"Why? Did you not like my purple luggage?" Kirstie smiles as she packs some shorts.

"Not in particular." Avi laughs. "It was just a tad embarrassing."

"Well, I did buy it before we met." Kirstie says.

"Man. I can't wait to get to Belize." Avi says as he falls back on the bed.

"Me too. And those cottages that Tim found are perfect." Kirstie says.

"Aren't they though. We're all together but yet we'll still have our privacy." Avi chuckles.

"This must be costing Tim a fortune." Kirstie says as she shakes her head. "You know, renting out all five of those cottages for no telling how long couldn't have come cheap."

"True. But Timbo can afford it." Avi says.

"Just how rich is this man?" Kirstie asks as she continues to pack.

"No one knows." Avi shrugs.

"Not even Adam?" Kirstie asks.

"Probably not." Avi answers.

"So being a hired hitman must really pay out the butt." Kirstie laughs.

"Oh, I don't think he did it for the pay. I think he did it for the excitement. He just got bored." Avi chuckles.

"He couldn't find a different hobby?" Kirstie asks with a grin.

"It was the adrenaline rush that he loved." Avi says. "All I know is that he was an only child. Spoiled rotten. And his dad was a very smart businessman with a shady side. So when his dad passed away, I'm sure Tim was left his entire fortune. Just how much? I don't know."

"He doesn't volunteer any information about his life, does he." Kirstie states.

"None what so ever." Avi replies as he puts his arms behind his head. "Especially his money situation."

"Uh, can I ask you something?" Kirstie asks, raising a brow at her husband.

"Sure." Avi answers.

"Are you gonna pack?" Kirstie asks.

"Oh, yeah." Avi chuckles as he gets up from the bed. He walks over to the dresser and picks up a snapback. He lays it in the empty suitcase. "Done."
