"Hey Mama."
14 year old Peter said when he walked inside their apartment.

"Hey baby, how was school?"
Wanda asked, putting a plaster on a bleeding cut on her arm.

"It was good. We're going on a trip to Oscorp."
Peter said.

Ever since his best friend MJ got adopted and moved away when he was 6, Peter hadn't been the same. He stopped wanting to go round to the tower to see the Avengers and he didn't eat a lot of Bucky's cookies.

"I'm sure it'll be fun. Remember tomorrow, I'll be going to visit the headteacher at the new school."

"Yeah I know Mama."
Peter got a scholarship to MidTown Tech, a great science school that was very expensive.

"Bucky made some cookies."

"What kind?"

"Just plain chocolate chip cookies."
Bucky didn't forget about Peter like the rest did, he still asked Wanda how Peter was doing, same with Loki.

"Ok."

"Hello Miss Maximoff, I'm the headteacher, Mr Morita."
Mr Morita held his hand out and Wanda shook it.

"Nice to meet you Mr Morita."

"Now I understand that due to your job that your son will be having a fake last name, is that correct?"
Over the years, Wanda got more recognition and the scholarship came at a good time when most teenagers were connecting the dots.

"Yes. Our neighbours kindly let Peter take their last name, Parker."

"Ok. And what are their first names so that we have it on record and only me and you know Peter's real last name."

"May and Ben Parker."

"Ok. Thank you Miss Maximoff. We'll be happy to have your son next week. I have his timetable and locker number here and on Monday, if you can, tell him to go straight to the reception where his buddy will meet him there."

"Ok. Thank you Mr Morita."

"You're welcome Miss Maximoff."
The two shook hands and Wanda left the school, trying to not run into anyone.

"And here we have the radioactive spiders. There are sixteen of them."
The tour guide said.

"There are only fifteen Miss."
A girl called Mary Jane said.

"Oh, well one of the scientists must have taken one out for experiments. Let's carry on."

Peter felt a small prick on his hand but didn't think anything off it.

"Hey Mama."

"Hey Peter. How was the trip?"
Wanda asked.

"It was alright."
Peter paled before running to the bathroom and proceeding to vomit into the toilet.

"Peter? Are you ok?"
Wanda asked outside of the door.

"I don't know what's happening Mama."
Peter said.

Wanda opened the door and crouched down next to Peter.

"Just let it all out, it'll be fine."
Wanda ran her hand up and down Peter's back.

She got a cloth and wetted it and wiped Peter's face after he stopped spewing.

"You feeling better?"
Wanda asked and Peter nodded.

"Can you stand up?"
Wanda asked and Peter slowly stood up, his legs shaking.

"Have a warm bath and brush your teeth. I'll get some warm jammies and a cup of tea. And maybe something sweet."
Wanda said and Peter nodded.

After making sure that Peter was stable, Wanda left to get some jammies and a fluffy towel.

Peter walked out of the bathroom half an hour later, with a blanket draped over him.

He sat down and cuddled into Wanda.

"Here's your tea and a cookie."
Wanda handed them over to Peter.

"Thank you Mama."
Peter said, taking a sip of the tea.

When Peter woke up the next morning, he had a splitting headache.

Wanda came into his room to see how he was getting on.

"Are you feeling any better?"
Wanda asked softly.

"I've got a headache Mama. It hurts."
Peter moaned.

"I know it does baby. I'll go get some painkillers and a glass of water."
Wanda left the room and her phone started ringing.

"Hey witch. You've missed training. Where are you?"
Stark said.

"I'm at my house Stark. Something came up."
Wanda said, opening up the cupboard where the medicine was kept.

"Yeah well something came up here. We need you."

"I can't leave Stark."

"You have to Maximoff."
Stark said.

"I said I can't."

"Look Wanda, just come over and I won't send an Iron Man suit over to yours."
Wanda rolled her eyes and hanged up.

She filled a glass up with water and took it back through to Peter.

"Go to the tower Mama."
Peter said after swallowing the tablets.

"How did you hear my conversation?"
Wanda asked.

"I don't know Mama."
Peter said.

"Just go."

"I can't leave you here by yourself."
Wanda said.

"I'll be fine Mama."
Peter croaked.

"Just wait a minute."
Wanda said and left the apartment.

She knocked on May and Bens door and May opened it.

"Hey Wanda. How are you?"

"I'm good but Peter isn't. Stark phoned me saying that something came up and I can't leave Peter alone."

"Of course, I don't mind looking after Peter."
May said.

"Thank you so much."
Wanda said, hugging May.

"You're very welcome. You and Peter are like family."
May said.

"What was so important that you had to call me?"
Wanda asked after arriving at the tower.

"Meeting."

"A meeting? A bloody meeting?"
Wanda asked, getting angrier by the second and Loki and Bucky noticed.

"Stark you're gonna need to run."
Loki said.

"Why?"
Stark asked.

"Just run!"
Bucky shouted, holding Wanda back.

Stark finally listened and ran away.

"Wanda calm down. Just calm down."
Bucky said.

Wanda finally calmed down.

"Is something wrong?"
Loki asked.

"It's Peter. He's sick and I had to leave him with May because of Stark."

"How badly?"
Bucky asked.

"He spewed last night and he complained of a headache this morning."
Wanda said.

"Go back, we'll tell you if anything important is being said."
Loki said.

Wanda nodded and left the tower.

When Wanda arrived at the apartment block, there were police cars and an ambulance.

She looked around to try to find May and Peter and she found May talking to a police officer.

"What happened?"
Wanda asked a nearby officer.

"A shooting. Only one person was killed."
The officer said and Wanda went pale.

She looked around for Peter and couldn't find him anywhere.

May spotted Wanda looking around frantically and she went up to her.

"Wanda calm down. Peter isn't hurt."
May said.

"Where is he?"

"The paramedic is checking him over. He's safe, he didn't get hurt."
May said.

"Who did?"
Wanda asked, noticing Mays sad face.

"Ben."

"Oh god."
Wanda hugged May tightly.

"I'm so sorry."
Wanda said.

"It's not your fault."
May said.

"I should have been here."
Wanda said.

"It's not your fault. It's not anyone's fault apart from the shooter. Do not blame yourself."
May said.

BuckyBarnes: Is everything good?

WandaMaximoff: No. There was a shooting

BuckyBarnes: Is Peter ok?

WandaMaximoff: Yeah but Ben died.

BuckyBarnes: Your neighbour?

WandaMaximoff: Yeah.

BuckyBarnes: Did the police catch the person who did it?

WandaMaximoff: Yeah. They caught him trying to leave the city.

BuckyBarnes: Good. Tell Peter I've made some cookies.

WandaMaximoff: Will do. Bye Barnes.

BuckyBarnes: Bye Maximoff.

"Peter? Are you feeling any better?"
Wanda asked, opening Peter's door slightly.

"A bit Mama."

"Do you still have a headache?"

"No Mama."

"That's good. Bucky made some more cookies. He's wondering if he can come over and I'm sure Loki will tag along with him."

"Ok Mama."

"I'll tell him then. You just rest now."
Wanda closed the door.

WandaMaximoff: Peter's doing better but he's still not himself. And he said that you can come over with the cookies.

BuckyBarnes: Loki saw my texts and is wondering if he can come over as well.

WandaMaximoff: That's fine. I told Peter that Loki might be tagging along.

BuckyBarnes: Ok. We'll be over in about twenty minutes.

A knock was heard on the door and Wanda answered if.

"Hey guys. Come in. Peter's still sleeping but he'll wake up soon."
Wanda said, letting the two in.

"Is he doing any better?"
Bucky asked.

"He doesn't have a temperature any more which is good and he's stopped spewing which is also good. But something else has been happening."
Wanda said.

"What is it?"
Loki asked.

"He heard my conversation with Stark on the phone yesterday. I wasn't even in the same room and I was whispering. It's like he's somehow got superhearing."
Wanda said.

"Me and Steve got better senses after getting the serum."
Bucky said.

"When did he start to feel poorly?"
Bucky asked.

"The day of his trip to Oscorp. He left the house in perfect health but when he came home he spewed."

"Oscorps is working on radioactive spiders. Maybe Peter got bit by one of them?"
Loki asked.

"How do you know?"
Wanda asked.

"I overhear Starks conversations with the guy who runs Oscorps."
Loki simply said, plopping himself on the sofa.

"Oh yeah, you guys can sit down."
Wanda said and her and Bucky sat down next to Loki.

Peter came wandering in a minute later with his quilt wrapped around himself.

"Hey Peter."
Wanda said.

"Hi Mama."

"We think we might know what's wrong with you."
Wanda said.

"We?"

"Bucky and Loki are here."
Peter finally spotted the two men.

"Oh. Hi."
Peter said and sat down next to Wanda.

"How many spiders were on show Peter?"
Bucky asked.

"On show where?"

"At Oscorps."

"Sixteen. But one wasn't there."

"Did you feel anything sharp after or before that? It's very important that you tell us."
Loki said.

"After I felt something sharp bite me."
Peter said.

"We think you might have been bitten by the spider."
Wanda said.

There was silence for about a minute.

"What?"
Peter broke the silence.
