//Chapter Three//

Celestia was back in her classroom; Mrs Tay's loud high-pitched voice broke her daze and brought her back to reality. She looked around, everyone was eerily still, and no one moved a muscle.

She blinked a couple of times then looked at Mrs Tay, now she was dead still, mid-way of saying something. Celestia was confused, she remembered being told to get out of this class from her apparent 'misbehaviour' and running out crying. Then being in the arms of Matthew and almost… Matthew! She bolted up from her seat, then dashing down the steps and paused. A chill ran up her spine as she turned slowly to see that Mrs Tay was no longer on the other side of the room but right in front of her.

But what was terrifying was that she had no face, just a blank canvas with no signs of features. Her hands lifted up to reach towards Celestia, spider fingers etching closer and closer. Celestia screamed and backed up and ran out of the classroom, running down a never-ending hallway.

She glanced back and saw darkness racing behind her, grotesque arms reaching to her as screams of tortured souls surrounded her. She found the door she ran into before and dived in. She expected something hard connecting with her shoulder, but felt only the light prickle of grass and the smell of flowers. She slowly pushed herself up with her hands and glanced around.

She was in a meadow on a hill. Exotic flowers were in bloom, beautiful and colourful butterflies delicately landed on the flowers to collect its pollen. She scrambled to her feet, and looked behind. A forest was lining the edge of the meadow, but it didn’t look welcoming so she turned away and trudged up the somewhat steep hill. She came to the top and gasped, the hill ended of a cliff edge. And below was just white fog like clouds. And the sky was filled with large and small floating islands that had the occasional waterfall that fell into the white abyss. She could see huge distant mountains with gigantic trees covering them, overgrown vegetation coating the forest floor. It was so magical, so… surreal. And very beautiful.

"Its lovely… Isn't it?" A voice came from behind her, she jumped and turned. Combed back blond hair, and ocean blue eyes looked at her with longing, "Matthew…" She breathed out as she ran into his open arms, "My darling…" he whispered into her hair as the two locked into a tight embrace. "Where are we?" She asked into his white flimsy shirt, "A place where only the very special people go…" he said pulling back to look at her.

"Special people?" she asked, tilting her head to the side in confusion, "Yes, but I cant tell you all the details, its to early." He said, placing a finger on her lips before she could say anything, "Shh, no questions. Lets just sit and relax…" He said pulling her down as he sat, her straddling his lap. "I never got to tell you this… But… You’re beautiful… So, so beautiful… And I'm glad that I got to meet you…" their foreheads pressed against each other. Her heart leaped at his words, she didn’t know what it meant this feeling but it felt good.

"And your so, so handsome… I'm glad I met you!" she giggled a little as he hugged her closer so there was no space between there bodies. "Ah…" she gave a small surprised gasp, "Don’t like being this close, darling?" he asked, their noses brushing against each other now, "N-No… I like it… I just… never done this kind of thing before…" she said, blushing shyly, he laughed lightly, "I know, I just hope I'm not making you uncomfortable," his lips kissed her warm cheek. "Your… not…" she whispered as his lips moved closer and closer to hers. Before she knew it, they were in a passionate but slow kiss; somehow she knew what she was doing for her first time. But something seemed off, as if this wasn’t real in someway. His voiced didn’t make her feel all giddy and happy. He was to… ridged. Like he was taught to say these kinds of things. Even the kiss was wasn’t genuine.

This wasn’t the Matthew she knew. He wouldn’t go this far; he was to shy to even bring up the subject of love. And what really brought her to attention was how dark his eyes were, Matthews eyes were mixed between Pine and Oak green. This… Matthew's eyes was like a dark, dark mossy green. She pulled away from the kiss, "What is it, baby? Did I do something wrong?" he asked, his tone laced with hurt. "Your not real." she said, pulling away but his embrace was like iron. He held her in place.

"I am real. Every inch of me is real. Don’t do this baby… I love you," her brows furrowed, "No, you don’t. You wouldn’t go this far, your to shy to even speak of love." she hissed, "Who the hell are you?" she asked more angrily, but she was frightened as well. What did they do to the Matthew she knew? Where was she? Who are these 'special people'? Questions came out of nowhere and she needed answers. She squirmed in his grip but he held her still, "Don’t leave me baby, I need you." he said, emphasizing each word with a harsh and icy tone. His arms wrapped around her even tighter, "N-No… Ouch… Your hurting me…" she dug her nails into his wrists but felt only a hard material which was cold.

"Don’t… Leave… Me…" his voiced changed to more like water was filling his esophagus as black liquid poured out of his mouth. "Let me go! LET ME GO!!" She screamed as she leaned back to try and be away from his nearing face. His eyes sizzled into black pits as little black spiders spilled out. "Oh god! Help! Someone help! No! Please!" she begged as his skin peeled away and rotted, little white maggots crawled out of the falling off bits of skin.  The worms went on her arms and began to tear into her flesh and crawl in. She screamed and screamed; as she could feel the maggots eat away her insides. The meadow fell away as she was surrounded by darkness, the same grotesque hands grabbing her, ripping her already torn flesh.

She thrashed about as the hands held her down, the reached for her face and started to pull out-

She bolted upright in her bed, her shirt soaked with sweat, her cheeks wet from tears… and her arms covered in blood. She stared at her arms, "Matthew…" she wailed. 10 minutes passed and no one came in to help her. She turned on the gas lamp on her bedside table and stared at her blood soaked nightgown. She got out of bed slowly, her body weak and tired from the blood loss. Celestia moved slowly to the bathroom and stripped naked and started to clean herself from the deep gashes on her forearm. Wrapping her wounds up and grabbing a clean nightgown, she made her way out of the bathroom and started the fire up again. She didn’t want to be in her bed, it was wet from her blood and sweat.

She grabbed a pillow and blanket and lay down in front of the fire, watching as the flames danced. She had no one to comfort her, she knew that for a first, and she was to scared to sleep. But on the end she eventually fell asleep, only to be welcomed by darkness that enveloped her tired mind. Yet, her tears fell freely down her face, as the faint cries of souls in pain could be heard in her darken mind, somehow that was comforting for her and it blocked out any unwelcome memories.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

She woke up the next day, her back and side in pain from sleeping all night on one side. Slowly, yet surely, she got up on numb legs. She then went over to her window and looked out through the bars that caged her in. She could see the 'playground' for the other occupants.

She rested her forehead against the window and could see the glass fog up, she pulled back and placed her hand on her forehead, "Oh." she said simply, she had a fever. She knew this was normal for her after a bad nightmare. She went to her bed and stopped, she could see the now dried blood on the bed sheets. Last night events flew into her dizzy mind and she had to catch herself on the bedside table. But she had tripped and fell on to her side, hitting her head on the floorboards. Just then the door opened and she could see figures surround her and pick her up. And again blackness greeted her confused and tired mind.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"She is stable."

"Yes, yes, I can see that her heart is beating at a normal pace."

"I wonder why she reacted like this."

"What caused this…?"

"God knows, but her brain is working overtime, see?"

Voices echoed in and out, flashes of light shined in her eyes occasionally. Eventually, the voices stopped and she was now surrounded by silence. Her eyes fluttered open and she noticed she was in a bare room, laid on a metal bed and a large light hovering over her.

She sat up slowly, and feeling the same feeling of needles in her skin and tubes coming out from her arms as well. Beside the bed was a glass panel that had a shape of a heart with bars next to it going up and down, and the soft sound of a beep that indicated her heart beat. She followed where the clear plastic tubes went and saw a white box under the bed. The weird word and substance she came to known and recognise were her energy and strength was coming from. She felt strong and pulled the needles out and winced slightly at the pain and turned of the heart monitor off. The door opened as she just swung her legs over the edge, scientists in their white lab coats walked in, followed by Ja'ob.

Her heart sank at the sight of him as she remembered what he had done to her, "I want to see Matthew," she said instantly, he only grinned, "Sorry, my dear, you cannot." he said with no emotion. "Why?" she questioned, narrowing her eyes as she stared at the scientists that surrounded her and stared at her like she was some kind of rare antique. "He… is busy. Next time he will come and see you," Ja'ob said turning the glass panel towards him and started to press buttons and type in codes. Windows of pictures and writings popped up and she saw a profile with her picture, "What is that?" she asked, staring at the panel then at Ja'ob, "Didn’t Matthew tell you about the equipment we have here? Tsk, what a silly boy, lucky we have a better mentor for you who will teach you everything." He pulled the panel off and tucked it into his coat, "Matthew was a good mentor! He just wanted to take things easy and to make sure I was understanding the information he was telling me!" she raised her voice, about to get of the table but was shoved back on by one of the scientists. She growled angrily at the man and he jumped back frightened.

Ja'ob sighed with annoyance, "You don’t need to be taught slowly, and your brain is made to absorb information quickly. That’s why your brain overworked and tired you out instantly," he said, but he had to use false claims to cover up the damage he had done to her. He couldn’t let the light blow away from him, he was too popular. He was known to be the greatest and smartest mind in Dyngarmor, and the most powerful Head Scientist ever. "I don’t think that’s true! What of these nightmares? I thought I was never to get them!" she said, gripping the edge of the table tightly, almost bending it. "We didn’t just give you supernatural aspects, we also gave you human aspects as well. We were told to do so." He lied, what was his true (sort of) intentions was to see if a powerful being of another world could be mixed with human aspects. And he succeeded in making a being that had both the foreign sides level with the human side.

Celestia was his tool, his strength, to play around and to test her limits. So far, her limits are still unknown, but the weariness loomed over Ja'ob's mind and prayed that he wasn’t damaging her to the point where he couldn’t heal the wounds anymore and had to have a defective tool.

"My parents…?" she asked in a soft voice, "Yes, do not forget that I have been given a list on what to add and do with you. I am simply following your parents wishes." He replied, now looking at her with slight sympathy, "So my parents told you to resign Matthew of teaching me…? Is that why… why you gave me another mentor?" she asked, "Yes." he lied again, but had no choice. But he loved the power he had over this small girl, she could be easily manipulated. He smiled mentally, then said; "Anyways, enough with a depressing topic, time to meet your new mentor." He said and stepped back as a tall and buff-ish man came in.

He had spiky, bright green hair; his clothing was made out of entirely black leather that hugged his body. He had multiple piercings on his face; his eyes were the colour of ivory. A collar was around his neck and she could make out that the collar was keeping his head attached to the rest of his body. His hands were webbed; blue veins could be seen in the skin between his skeletal fingers. She stared at him with horror, as she blinked a couple of times she could see the illusion peel away and she could see his true form.

Exactly the same but his skin was sagging, bones could be seen in rips in his skin. "What… the… fuck…" she breathed out, her jaw dropping, "Don’t be so rude!" Ja'ob said glaring at her, "Meet Alijah, he is going to be your mentor." Alijah smiled wickedly, "It’s a pleasure to meet you, princess." He bowed. Bells rang in her mind, who do these people think they are? Are they insane? She instantly wanted to throw up but bit her tongue to hold back the bile that was forming in her stomach. She knew that something bad was going to happen, and she had to prepare herself to defend for her own safety. Lord knows, will she be able to pull through? And she had hardly anyone to tell about her problems… She didn’t want to burden this kind of information on Calvina and Ivory…  She knew that the two girls were highly protective of her and would do anything to keep her safe.

She breathed in a deep breath and hoped for the best. Besides, she had an angry demon in her clawing at the gates that held it back. She knew it wanted to taste blood, to kill, to rip all these scientists apart. All she had to do was wait, and strike at the perfect time. "Oh," she said, smiling, breaking the cold and frightened look on her face, "It is indeed a pleasure to meet you Alijah. I cannot wait to be taught by you." Ja'ob smiled happily, "Great, shall we get started?"
