//Chapter One//
"Experiment 8694, born on the 7th of September, year 1089,is functioning perfectly." The old man stated to his fellow companions. The group watched the large tube filled with water, a figure with tubes attached to its back and head, floated. Its black wings were somewhat folded behind its back, "Its our most finest creation, and our very first request from the King and Queen of the city Alyeena." The man continued, smiling as he watched the group write down the information into their electronic devices, which were made out of glass. "We have also added some perks to this special specimen, that were safely taken from the downworlders who happily obliged to give us a sample of their DNA." His dull green eyes turned to stare at the tube. "We will soon see the full detail of Experiment 8694, its files are still being processed and transferred into the main computer. Shall we go see some other experiments?" The man said and the group smiled and nodded eagerly. He nodded to the large metal doors that slid open as they left the room which were littered in high tech computers and empty tubes. The scientists milled about, staring at their screens with wide ecstatic eyes that glowed from the screens of the glass computers.
Oh, where am I? What… What is this weird feeling? Why can I hear myself in my head…? So dark… Where is the light? Someone jumped from his or her seat and gasped, the female called over her friends, "Guys look! The heart monitor is going finally! It's going to wake up! Call Ja'ob!" Someone ran out and went to fetch some named Ja'ob. The old man came back, the group following him, chattering quickly like hype up children. "Well, I must say, this is quite a rare occasion to happen!" Ja'ob exclaimed to his group of young people. "8694 is the 10th successful experiment!"
Who is that? What is it? Why does that make such a horrid sound? I still can’t see… I can’t move… The glass tube had cleared from the fogginess to show a naked figure, mid length hair, the colour of red wine, skin so smooth and perfect with no hairs or blemishes, slender and petit, "A perfect being for a perfect plan." Ja'ob said, staring up at the winged creature with delight. 8694 opens its eyes; gorgeous gold pools gazed out of the glass, staring right at Ja'ob, What on earth is that… It’s hideous! Disgusting… "Its heart is now functioning on its own, the machine has turned off, I think its ready for it to face the real world." The female said, who was the one that noticed the change in 8694. "Indeed its time. Drain the water!" Ja'ob said, as someone pushed a button and the water slowly started to drain out of the tube. Wha… What's going on? Why are these things coming closer, and what is that they are pulling? The computers started to make wailing sounds as people ran about, trying to fix the problem. "The information is coming into fast! Shit!!" Sounds of clicking could be heard as the people typed in codes and whatnot to calm the thoughts of the experiment but it was no use. The water was almost drained, the experiment held up by rope around its arms, the tubes had been already pulled away from its back, but had left some transmitters still attached on 8694 back. The computers blew up from the huge amounts of power and energy was being taken in.
Everything settled, eventually. Smoke came from the tube that was now lifted up and the creature on its knees, hunched over. "Someone get it down, but be gentle!" Ja'ob said to one of his workers and the man hurried of, pulling on some clothes since the scientists didn’t know if the creature carried a disease or something. Ah, I feel so… Weird… Down… At a loss… The worker climbed up to where the creature was, then transported it to someone at the bottom who caught the body gently. They had a metal table that came over and they set 8694 down on it.
This feels even weirder now… Why are these creatures so close to me that I can feel them? "Well, now since 8694 is out, I can give you a back story of why and some other details about," Ja'ob turned to the group, "I will put the file up on the screen behind you." The group turned and gazed up the now lit screen, it read:
Name: Celestia Zuri
Age: 17
DOB: 7th September 1089
Sex: Female
Race: Hybrid Angel and Demon
Perks: Vampire Abilities, Shape shifting
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 130Ilbs
Allergies: UNKNOWN
Diseases: UNKNOWN
"I can tell you are all wanting to ask questions. I know one that is very common, 'how is she born as a fully grown human?' Well, she may look like she is ready to face the true world. But she isn't, she is just like a newborn baby, she needs to be fed, clothed, taught how to walk and speak et cetra et cetra. Next, she is immortal, but she does have a weakness, which I will not say. As you can see, she is a hybrid of angel and demon, and I'm guessing you are all thinking, 'Impossible! The angel cannot withstand the evil and darkness that the demon has!'
'The girl will die,' and so on. While we watched her grow, we saw something different and never seen before. Both her demon and angel are at the same level, they are not fighting back for dominance. This isn't affected from the other perks she has, which I will explain now. I ask you now, do not go and tell your family and friends outside of this organisation, not even the king and queen. This information is top secret and for our use only." Ja'ob paused and the group nodded, "Good, now, we have included some other genetic material for her. She has the perks of a vampire, and a shape shifter. Pretty much her shape shifter is the dominant one out of the other two perks since she can, hopefully, turn into whatever she wishes. I hope I have answered most of your questions,” the group nodded at his small speech.
“Great!” he said clasping his hands before him. He turned to the girl, who stared up at him wide-eyed and curious. He knelt before her and she shrunk back a little, “Hey… I wont hurt you… I’m here to help you.” He said kindly to her, giving her a warm and welcoming smile. She still hugged her knees close to her chest, quite frightened since she didn’t know her environment or know why she was even here.
“Well, you may not know how to communicate yet. We must teach you how to speak, walk and so forth. You are just like a new born baby, just in a teenagers body.” Ja’ob said standing up, nodding to someone to bring over a wheelchair so she could sit in it.
She glanced around, staring at the people who glanced at her. She let her fingers run along the cool armrest of the wheelchair.
As they wheeled her to another room, it was more exotic. What she noticed first was the large bed, her head tilted to the side as if she was confused. In such a dull looking place, why is this room so… Bright? She thought, taking in the light brown painted walls, a wardrobe next to the bed, bookshelves lined the left and side of the walls, something across the room, crackled. She saw it was some light with colours of red and orange and yellow.
The man who was pushing her said, “That’s a fireplace, it will keep you warm.” She looked up at the man who smiled so kindly to her, better than the Ja’ob man. The man explained a bit more of the items in the room, and Celestia kind of got what he meant. She still had to learn in much greater detail later. Ja’ob had left them alone and will come back in an hour’s time. God knows what that meant.
The male who smiled so kindly to her pulled out something from the wardrobe. He walked over to her and knelt before her, “This is a dress, and it will cover your body so you are not naked.” He talked slowly for her so she could somewhat understand. She nodded slowly as he pulled it over her head and pulled her arms out gently.
She glanced down at it and touched it, soft and smooth against her fingers. She blinked a couple of times and looked mesmerized by the material. The man laughed, what a joyful sound, she thought smiling up at him. It felt weird to smile; he laughed again, “We gotta help you smile properly.” He said grabbing something that was oval shaped and had a handle and little black things protruding out of it, “This is a comb that brushes your hair from the knots and tangles it has.” He said walking back to her and going behind her and started to comb her hair.
It hurt at first but then it was nice and relaxing as he ran his fingers through her hair as well. The man had an oval face, a straight nose, and dark forest green eyes with shoulder length blond hair that was tied in a small bun. His skin had small little scars, especially on his face around his jaw.
Celestia couldn’t stop staring at him, oh wow, what a perfect looking person, I wished I could speak, she sighed, oh well, all I can do is talk to myself. She was now dressed, shoes on her feet, her red hair fell around her in waves. His green eyes met hers, and she felt a warm sensation on her cheeks. "Blushing? I wonder why." he smiled at her and patted her head gently before he pulled out his bun and ran his fingers through his wavy blond hair.
“Well, since we have a bit of time, why don’t I give you a short tour around the vicinity?” He said and she simply nodded, agreeing silently.
//After the Tour//
She had learned how to smile in that time, and the male, whose name was Matthew, thought it was beautiful. She had blushed again at his comment, looking away. "Its amazing how quickly you pick up things," he said to her, she glanced up at him and nodded in agreement, Yes, that’s how my mind works, I must pick up things quick so I can be sent to my parents, she thought. She hadn't even thought about her parents, or even know how they looked.
"Your parents are so ethereal, I've never been so close to a power demon and a powerful arch-angel in my life. And they look so perfect…” he said, almost dreamily. Your perfect, she wanted to say to him. He had showed her to the other occupants like her who stayed here, a vampire and a witch. Waa… They are so kind… She thought smiling to herself at the thought.
Matthew showed her the other testing labs and the ‘playground’ for the other Occupants, or experiments, which could go in this indoor backyard, Matthew had stated. She gazed out the window and had seen others with wings as arms, faces of scary looking creatures. But what really caught her eye that they didn’t care how they looked. They played with each other, chasing, talking and the like. She wanted to go there and play, but Matthew had said not yet. They had come back to her room, Ja’ob waiting looking impatient. “There you are!” he said rushing over to Celestia but she shrank back as much as she could in the wheelchair.
“I was wondering where you two went.” He added, Matthew just smiled, “I was just showing her around, Doc.”
“Ah, no worries then. I had thought you ran of.” He said, now knelt before her, pale green eyes alit with excitement. “We have breakfast now, I wish to show you around to some of the other occupants here,” he said, but Matthew cut in, “She has met most of them, especially that other successful group you have.” Ja’ob looked up, “Oh, well great! She then can settle down easier now.” He nodded and got up, “Since you have swiftly done most of the things I was going to do, I would like you to keep going. It would be a great help for me.” Ja’ob said to Matthew, whose eyes widen in shock.
“O-oh! Yes! I would gladly continue on! It would help me as well in becoming a instructor.” Matthew said, beaming a little. Ja’ob nodded in appreciation, “Yes. Indeed, if you do need help, don’t hesitate to ask. I will come in 3 days time to check on how you are going.” The older male said before smiling at Celestia and left the pair alone once again.
Matthew grinned childishly, “Awesome! I cannot wait till we get into teaching you!” he said kneeling before her and holding her hands. She grinned like he did.
They eventually came to breakfast; she felt extremely shy and kept her eyes down, not meeting the Occupants eyes. She could feel some pressure in her head building from the looks that she got. They weren’t bad looks, just… So claustrophobic. Matthew introduced her to some people, well, majority of them. She felt instantly tired after smiling and nodding to almost 100+ people she guessed. But she wouldn’t of known since she had passed out by the time they came to a small group.
She woken up by a worried look hovering over her. She got startled and head-butted the person, hearing a very familiar voice. “Ouch!” Matthew cried, falling back and pressing a hand to his forehead. She held her palm to her head and pouted, a tear rolled down her cheek. Ouch, that hurt so badly… she thought biting her lip to prevent her from crying. If she had to be taught how to withstand pain, she had to start now even though that was later.
Matthew got up and came to her side, “I’m sorry, Tia. I didn’t mean to startle you like that.” He said, placing a hand on her cheek to wipe away the single tear that fell. She inclined her head into his hand to show that it was all right.
He nodded and kissed her forehead, the action made her cheeks flush tomato red. “I hope your fine… You scared me when you passed out.” He said, his face gone serious, “I think it was to much for you, seeing all those people. I should of waited… god I’m stupid.” He said, shaking his head in disappointment. Your not stupid, Matthew, its quite alright, she thought, hoping he got it when she laid her head on his shoulder.
She felt his fine blond hair tickle her nose and she sneezed, jumping back a bit from it. It brought a smile to Matthews used to-be-serious face. “How cute…” he whispered. She yawned a little, “Tired?” she nodded. “Well, lay back and sleep until you are 100%,” she reached for his hand and held it, “I’ll stay, don’t worry.” He said kissing her nose.
Her grip loosened as she sank down into the covers and he tucked her in. She stared up at him as he started to sing:
The Evening is coming the sun sinks to rest,
The crows are all flying straight home to their nest,
Caw says the crow as he flies overhead,
Its time little people were going to bed,
The flowers are closing the daisy asleep,
The primrose is buried in slumber so deep,
Closed for the night are the roses so red,
Its time little people were going to bed,
The butterfly drowsy has folded its wings,
The bee are returning no more the birds sing,
The labor is over the nestlings are fed,
Its time little people were going to bed.
His voice had soothed her mind, it was so beautiful. Her eyes closed shut slowly, and soon fell into a dreamless sleep. Matthew stayed by her side for a while, watching her. “She’s so beautiful,” he said to himself quietly. He got up and left her room, glancing over his shoulder at her sleeping form and left her room eventually.
