Chapter 34

Day: Still Sunday.

( Drew's POV )

I stopped the motor, and took off my helmet. "We're here."I said confident. I remembered my first time being here. It wasn't a very nice place to go to, and I didn't really wanted to come here. But when you had problems or just needed to get your mind off of something, this was the best place to go to.

"So the only thing you told me was that Harley works here, it a good place is for when you're depressed, and that Solidad hates it here."Ash said curiously.

"That's all you need to know." Ash growled at the vague response. We came inside. I saw Ash becoming smaller every step he took. It was dark inside with only a few lights, mostly shining on the stage. The tables were dark, and the bar in the back had just enough light.

"Drew!"I heard someone yell. I sweat dropped, and turned around. "Long time no see. How is it with you and your parents? Oh, and I see you brought a friend."

"Good afternoon, Harley."I said annoyed. "Yes, this is Ash. He wants to get his mind off of something, whatever that is. So I brought him here."

"Hello, Ash."Harley said, shaking Ash's hand. "If you want to get your mind off of something, you found the right place. I'm Harley, as you probably already knew. Drewy here must've told you everything about me."

"Actually only that you're annoying."Ash said. Harley glared at me. "And that you're practically married with Solidad." Now Harley got annoyed.

"I'm not married with Solidad!"he snapped. "Drew, learn manners." I rose an eyebrow.

"Look, if you can't help me, then I see no reason to stay."Ash said annoyed. I grinned. Finally, Harley would do something besides embarrassing me, or himself. He walked away, gesturing we should follow him. Ash almost tripped over someone's shoe, while walking through the crowd.

"Here."Harley said as he gave Ash a drink.

"Alcohol?"Ash asked. I nodded.

"This is the only place where they don't ask for your ID."I said proud. I knew it was illegal, but they never got caught. "You don't want it?"

"No, no, it's okay."Ash said quickly, looking at the drink. I could see he never drunk before. "How much does it cost?" Harley smiled at how fast Ash wanted to pay.

"Don't worry 'bout that, Ash."I said, grinning. "I'll pay."

"I didn't know you were such a great friend, Drewy."Harley teased. I smiled at him, not taking it as an insult.

"Oh, you'd be surprised Harley."I said and I gave him the money. Harley smiled.

"Drink up, Ashy."Harley said. Ash was just staring at the drink, deciding if he would drink it or not. "Otherwise Drewy will drink it. And you don't want to miss your one shot at free alcohol, do you?" Ash looked at me, as if I needed to confirm that it was all okay. So I nodded. Then Ash tilted the glass, so that it would touch his lips, and drunk half of the glass in less than a minute.

"You sure that was your first time drinking, Ash?"I asked, grinning. Ash smiled.

"This stuff, is awful."he said. I patted him.

"Dude,"I said intrigued. "That's the whole idea."

( Ash's POV )

I slowly opened my eyes, stretching out. Until I realized I punched someone with stretching out. I felt bad. As in sick. I was still seeing vague, even though I had opened my eyes for a few seconds already. When I blinked a few times, I could see clearer. Next to me lay someone I didn't even know. And he didn't wake up, even with the punch I gave him. Drew lay on the ground, cuddling a fallen chair.

"What happened last night?"I asked, to no one, since nobody was awake yet.

"You drank, danced with girls you didn't even know and then slept on the podium of the pub."a voice said. I turned around just so I could confirm what I already thought.

"I hope I didn't dance with you."I said disgusted.

"You kissed me, that's all."Ursula said. I immediately searched for something to clean my tongue with. "Oh, don't be a kid." I glared at her. "You had fun, for once in your life."

"I was drunk."

"And when you're drunk, you can't have fun?"Ursula asked, pretending to be confused. "I don't know what Misty is gonna think of you, now, but don't you think you deserve some fun."

"This wasn't fun at all."I said angrily. I was gonna wake up Drew, and leave here, for good. "And Misty already thinks bad of me. I didn't do anything wrong." Ursula nodded walking to Drew, to wake him up. "Could you please leave?"

"Fine." Ursula walked away, while Drew slowly woke up.

"Hello Tinkerbell, I didn't know you lost your unicorn."Drew said when he saw me. I frowned. "If I find bread, can I go for a ride on it."

"What?"I whispered. I took Drew with me to the motorcycle, but realized I couldn't ride it. "Hey Drew." Drew made a weird movement and fell on the ground. "Drew, snap out of it! You want to ride your unicorn, ride it."

Drew's eyes lit up. "You mean it?" I rolled my eyes, but nodded. "I'm coming Dodo!"

"Eh..." I called Gary.

"You couldn't have picked a worse time, Ketchum."Gary growled. "You better have a great reason, 'cause I'm busy."

"I think we have a slight problem."I said, and I looked at Drew. "Make that a big problem."

"What did you do?"Gary asked.

"Well, this time, I didn't particularly do anything."I said. Drew made pirouettes now, and I laughed nervously. "But Drew may or may not be super drunk." Gary screamed some things I tried to ignore. "Ehehe..."

"I'm coming right away."Gary said and he hung up.

Drew came to me and said some nonsense, while calling me 'Tinkerbell'. I took him by his shirt and dragged him with me. "Shut up, Drew."

( May's POV )

"WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?!"I screamed. Drew didn't really look in the mood to have this conversation with me, but I didn't care. "ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!"

"I just..." He made himself ready to puke, again. I gave him a bag to puke in.

"DON'T YOU HAVE ANY SELF CONTROL?!" No answer. "AND WHY DID YOU TAKE ASH WITH YOU?! HE DOESN'T NEED TO BE A VICTIM OF YOUR RECKLESSNESS!!" Drew puked. I waited annoyed, and gave him a handkerchief to clean his mouth. "You are so unbelievable."

"Actually, Ash was the one who came to me."Drew said, with a lot of effort.

"Why would Ash want to drink? Ash doesn't have a reason to drink? Misty will stop him from drinking. Now I'm thinking about it, where is she? You didn't take her with you too, right?"

"No."Drew said, and he puked again. "They broke up."

"They did?" I looked at Ash's dorm. I thought he locked himself in there, because he was ashamed of drinking, while he was underaged. But now it all made sense. Why he drunk in the first place, why he hadn't said a word to me, and why he even asked Pikachu to just go away.

The door opened. "What's going on?"Paul asked as he came in, his hands in his pockets.

"Drew and Ash thought it was a good idea to get drunk."I said, glaring at Drew. Paul blinked once before walking to the kitchen. "Where's Gary?"I asked to Drew. Gary was here just a few minutes ago, if I remembered correctly.

"I don't know, he ditched us."Drew said, shrugging.

"He ditched you, not me."I said grim. Drew didn't really look impressed. Paul came back and hopped on the couch, not caring about us at all. "Paul?" Paul didn't look at me. "Paul, aren't you gonna say anything to them. Maybe go to Ash to talk to him." Now Paul looked at me.

"Why would I talk to anyone?"he said calmly.

"Because you're their friend, and you need to tell them when they're being stupid."I snapped. Why was Dawn dating this guy? They weren't very alike. In fact, they weren't at all alike! Dawn was happy, but Paul only showed one emotion, and I'm not even sure if it is an emotion. Dawn is pretty, this guy has purple hair. Dawn had a future, Paul would end up in prison, at least in my opinion

"My friends are always stupid."Paul said. I sighed.

"Fine, be like that." Drew grinned a bit, but I didn't feel like glaring. I was tired and had used all my energy in screaming at Drew. Then the bell rang. "Drew?"I asked, he looked up at me raising an eyebrow. "What day is it?"

"Monday, why?"he asked.

"Damnit!"I yelled and I ran to my bag. "Drew, I will tell that you and Ash are sick, but Paul has to work!" Paul looked at me with that weird look in his eyes.

"I have a free period."he growled. I glared at him. I laughed a fake laugh.

"We have the same class, brainiac." Paul wanted to say something, but picked up his bag and followed me to theatre class.

( Misty's POV )

I slowly walked in the classroom. May wasn't here yet, neither was Paul. I had slept in the hospital with Serena there to comfort me. There was some truth in what Ash said. I always took Serena's side. And I guess that was because I felt responsible for everything that happened to Serena. If it wasn't for me, she wouldn't have done a suicide attempt. Maybe Serena wasn't entirely right, but I couldn't let Serena down. She needed me having her back.

May and Paul ran in the classroom. The teacher looked at them with a sharp look. May looked in a hurry, and Paul had the same expressionless face as always. He sat next to Gary.

"What do you think you're doing?"the teacher said, mainly to Paul.

"I'm sitting down, so that you can start talking."Paul explained. May was still standing, and the teacher didn't really look happy. I looked at Paul again. He didn't look like he was gonna apologize anytime soon.

"How many times have you been too late now, Paul?"the teacher asked.

"This is my first time ma'am."

"And you, May?" May looked up, a little embarrassed. How many times had May been too late for theatre. I bit my lip, this wouldn't end good. Just at the moment I wanted to talk to her. Just at the moment I needed her. Not to look things up about Sky, but to listen to me. About Ash. Would she know already? I looked at her, hoping she could lie without anyone noticing.

"Four times."May said softly. The teacher sighed.

"I'm sorry May, but you know three times is the limit. May nodded. "I'll say you better go to the principal." Well, I hadn't heard about the principal for quite some time.

"I'll go with her."I said quickly. I needed to talk to May. "I needed to talk to the principal anyway." And our teacher bought the lie.

"Sure, as long as you both come back soon." I nodded and walked before May to the principal's office, but as soon as the door behind May shut, I turned around. May gave me a questionable look. I tried my best to guess what May tried to ask but I only came up with, "Isn't the weather fine today?" Even though it was still raining.

"May, I need to talk to you."I said, ignoring May's unspoken question.

"So that's why you came with me, or do you really need to talk to the principal?"May asked me curiously.

"I don't particularly need to talk to the principal, but I got asked to come by some time."I said, and I started walking. "So this was an opportunity for me."

"Aha."May said. "I thought it was something like that. You hate the principal's office."

"I do?"I asked, and then I remembered the first time I was in the principal's office. Ash had been there. It was where I met Ash. There were plants everywhere, with creepy, tickly bugs crawling on those plants. A Spinarak had gotten on my arm. I had screamed extremely loud, and that was when Ash came in. I had tried to hide my embarrassment and lied about there being a Gyarados outside. "I do."I mumbled, more confident.

"Misty, I know what's wrong with you, so there's no point in asking."May said casually. "But I do want to ask if you could just stop with the mumbling."

"I don't think you know what's wrong with me."I muttered. "Just yesterday, when I was at the hospital, visiting Serena, Ash and I got into a fight. And..."

"He broke up with you."May finished my sentence. What? How did she know? Had she talked with Ash? Oh, maybe she knew how he felt about all of this. "I know, Drew told me." Oh... So Drew knew about it. I tried to think about something else.

"So, how is Drew?"

"He's currently sick in bed, because he drank too much last night."May said casually, as if it was the most normal thing in the world. "Ash locked himself up in his room. I just hope they didn't do anything even more stupid than getting themselves drunk the last day of the weekend."

"Wait, Ash was drunk too."

"Gary said he was less drunk than Drew, but he wasn't able to ride a bike properly." I somehow felt a little relieved. So Ash did care. He had a different way of processing what happened, but mostly alcohol was to get your mind off of things like a breakup.

"Ash got drunk?!"I asked, pretending not to believe a word of it. May nodded. Then we stopped before the principal's office. "Come on, we have to report that you're late."

"That's all Drew's fault."May muttered annoyed, but she did enter the bug filled room. I immediately looked out of the window, at the small lake from the gardens. I told Ash I saw a Gyarados in there. During lunch break he had walked up to me, angrily. He was angry because there hadn't been a Gyarados. I guess his naive behavior was something I liked in him. He always believed every word I said. He always saw the best in people. Even people like me.

"Hello, can I help you?"the principal said, looking up from her work.

"Yes, you can."May said softly. "I have been too late for four times now." The principal smiled, and picked up a notebook.

"What's your name?"

"May Maple."

"And you?"the principal asked me.

"Me? Oh, no wasn't late."I said quickly, waving my hands in a weird way. Maybe the bugs around me were finally bugging me. "I just came by, like you asked me to."

"Oh, good."she said with a smile. "How are you?"

"Honestly, scared."I said sighing. "The murders and all. It's all a lot to take in. I just expected something else, I guess." The principal nodded in understanding, but worried. I thought about how many students had left to another school because of the murderer. This woman before me could lose her job because of someone else's deeds. "But I have great friends, and I don't think I can ever find a school like this."I added.

"It's okay, Misty."the principal said with a smile. "It's understandable that you're scared. Honestly, I am too. I live here now for already a long time, and I never heard about even one murder." She coughed. "But I can't leave like the students. Let's just hope this'll be over soon."

May and I nodded and left. On the halls May suddenly burst out in tears. "May, what's wrong?"I asked, letting my hand rest on her shoulder. "May?"

"It's nothing."May said, trying to shake off my hand. Then she walked forward. I tried to catch up with her, but she walked faster and faster.

"I can see you're upset, May. What is it?" May didn't answer and wiped away her tears. "May you're going the wrong way!"I yelled, but she didn't listen to me. May bumped into somebody, but ran away without saying sorry.

"Sorry, she's... Rudy?" Rudy looked at me.

"Misty!"Rudy called out, and he smiled. I remembered the last time Ash and I were in a fight. Arceus, everyone was just trying to make me think about Ash! I looked at May. She was already at the end of the hall, and went left.

"I'm sorry, Rudy, but I have to go."I said, and I followed May. I soon caught up with her, and grabbed her arm to prevent her from running away. "May, what the hell!"

"I'm sorry, I..."

"We need to go back first, otherwise Sabrina won't go easy on us."I said, pulling May with me. She continued wiping away her tears, while walking. She opened the door of the classroom. Her tears had dried up a bit, only her eyes looked a little red. But nobody noticed it. I wondered what was wrong with May, but I didn't get the chance to think about it.

________________________________________________________________________________

I made this chapter. I deleted half of it, and I wrote it again. I just didn't feel like what I wrote was good, and I am kinda happy with this. Kinda.

I'm sorry, but my inspiration is a little gone lately. It took longer than a week to publish this, and I feel bad for that. I just kinda don't know what to write anymore. And what I write isn't any good. I may or may not quit writing False Hope for a while, until I get my inspiration back. But maybe that's sooner than I think. I just... I get all these ideas for other stories, but never ideas for this one. And now I just don't think I make good enough chapters. Sorry.
