Act One;
In which Amelie Salazar learns Love Island comes with all kinds of other things besides love, like pain, anger, and friendship.

                         Amelie's Introduction Interview

Alienated by Zayn Malik played as Amelie entered the room walking with purpose and no hint of insecurity or fear. She sat down and spoke into the camera, "Hi I'm Amelie Salazar. I'm 26. I grew up in Tomelloso which is a small town in Spain. I moved to Hattiesburg, Mississippi when I was 14 and I've lived there since. I am in my second year of my surgical residency. I intend to go into neurosurgery. I blame that on my intense love of Grey's Anatomy character Amelia Shepherd and die to the fact our names are so similar. I also design clothing in my free time."

Amelie's comment earned a laugh from one of the producers as she continued, "I'm the oldest of 5 kids. My youngest sister just turned 19 and she's engaged. My second youngest sibling is 20 and married. The twins are 24 and both engaged or married. So I'm the oldest and last to get settled down. My mom says it's because I'm so picky but really it's because I've been more focused on my career."

Amelie laughed as she appeared deep in thought, "I've been single for a good 2 years now. The last relationship I was in ended in a marriage ultimatum. And I'm a person who goes at my own pace. Kinda like a venomous snake when I feel threatened I attack. Basically meaning when I feel pressured or coerced or like I'm being issued an ultimatum I will walk away. I don't let people walk all over me, I don't sit back and let people treat me like dirt."

Amelie hummed, "I would say my type is someone who can handle my attitude. I'm not a super sensitive person and I rarely cry when I'm sad. But I get annoyed and irritated so fast. And if I'm frustrated enough I will start crying. I don't want my emotions and my mood swings to affect my connection with a partner. I'd be lying if I said looks don't matter, of course personality matters and that's what draws a connection yes. But if I'm not even a little bit attracted to you I won't want to pursue you and get to know your personality. For me height doesn't matter. I'm 5'7 and in heels I can be around 6'0 and I want a man who's secure in his height when I'm wearing heels."

Amelie but her lower lip, "I'm a huge fan of tattoos. I think if you have tattoos that automatically makes you 10 times hotter in my eyes. I'm here to find my guy. The guy to take home to Spain and meet my parents and be my plus one to my sister's wedding!"

                            Miles Introduction Interview

IDGAF by Drake and Yeat played as Miles entered the narrow hallway with a walk as if he was walking down a red carpet. He plopped down in front of the camera, "What's up y'all! I'm Miles Warren! I'm 22 and from Seattle, Washington born and raised. I work as a private chef. I desperately want to be a tattoo artist but I have to make money before I can venture out there. I'm an only child. My parents split when I was a kid."

Miles continued as a producer nodded, "I'd definitely say that I'm pretty in touch with my emotions. I'm not scared to cry in front of my girl or anyone really. I think there's such a negative stigma around men being emotional and I try to do my best to break that. I'm a really romantic cheesy guy."

He ran a hand through his hair, "I've never been a guy to not romance the shit out of my girl. If I'm with you and you're special to me I'm gonna make sure you know that and feel that way." A producer off screen asked him what his type is, "Man honestly I'm into it all. I like a girl with a good smile. I like to think I'm pretty funny so I like a lady with a good laugh. I typically go for a darker haired girl but I'm really open to anything and anyone. If we vibe we do. Looks don't matter to me that much."

Miles grinned sheepishly, "Honestly my friend signed me up jokingly. I tend to believe reality dating shows don't work. But look at me now. I'm here trying to find my lady. But honestly I don't see myself making it to the very end but I'm gonna cherish my time in the villa regardless."
