"Natty! Look! Daddy home!" My sister shouted. I walked out of my room to be greeted by our house bot, Noru. "Hello Miss Natty," He said to me in his robotic voice. "Noru you can call me Natty." He laughed, somewhat. "Okay then Natty. Your father is home. I'll be making lunch." I thanked him and walked outside. "There is my big girl!" My dad shouted, who was carrying my little sister, Rosy. I hugged him and smiled. "Hey dad. How was work?" He shrugged. "The usual." My mom then came outside and kissed my dad. "Hey sweetie. Noru was just about to help me with lunch." "Okay. Can you help me unload some things Natty?" I nodded and opened the trunk. Inside I saw a huge coarboard box that said fragile on it. "Don't touch that sweetie," My dad said, walking over and picking it up. I head a few noises inside the box, it sounded like an animal. My dad laughed and rushed inside with the box. I shrugged and grabbed the other things.

After we brought everything inside I sat on the couch. My dad sat next to my right and my mom sat to my left. "What's going on?" I asked. My dad grabbed the box and put it in front of my feet. I saw my mom take out her phone and giggle. I sighed and opened the box. Inside the box was a young German Shepard. It was light brown and dark black. It barked in a playful way. "It's beautiful! How did you know?" I said, picking up the dog and petting it. "I could tell you were getting a bit lonely, so I decided to get you Nikita." "Nikita?" My mom nodded and said, "It's Russian, but I don't know what it means." "Doggy! Doggy!" My sister shouted, grabbing the dog and playing with it on the floor. "But you can change the name," My dad said, rubbing my head. "No,no. It's a beautiful name." My mom and dad smiled at me and hugged me. "Family hugs!" My sister shouted, joining the hug with Nikita. We all hugged until we heard a knock on the door. "Who could that be?" My mom asked, walking to the door. "Oh, can I help you?" She said, motioning for him to come him. He walked in with a huge smile on his face. "Ah! Mr. Flowers! Boy, do I have some news for you!" He shouted, walking over to my dad and shaking his hand. My mom dad got stood up and continued to shake his hand. "Hello there. Is there something I can help you with?" "Yes indeed. May we talk outside?" My dad nodded and walked outside with him. "What's wrong?" I asked, petting Nikita. "I don't know. I'll be in the kitchen with Nuro." She then walked into the kitchen and left me, Rosy, and Nikita alone. "Play! Play!" My sister shouted, grabbing my finger. "Rosy, go to your room, I'll be there in a minute." My sister nodded and ran into her room. Nikita was sniffing at the door, growling. "What's wrong Nikita?" I walked over to the window and listened to their conversation. "So, you know about the nuke thing right?" The man asked my dad. What nuke? My dad sighed and nodded slowly. "And about the vault?" My dad looked shock for a minute and then nodded again, but more happily. "Well, 2 of your family members are invited. That would be you and someone else." "No, I can't leave any of them." The man looked at his clipboard and smiled. "Well, there is room for three more in another vault." "How far would that be from vault 111?" Vault 111? What are they talking about? "From what we can calculate, it would be over 5,000 km apart." "Is there another vault closer?" The man shook his hand and gave him some papers. "Fill these out and I'll pick them up tomorrow." The man walked away to the next house next to ours. My dad walked in and looked at me. "What are you doing?" I quickly started to pet Nikita and smiled. "Just playing with Nikita. I love her!" My dad smiled and walked into the kitchen. Nikita rolled onto her belly and I continued to pet her. My sister then walked out of her room with her favorite teddy bear. "Play! Play!" I rolled my eyes and sighed. "Want to go to the park?" My sister clapped her hands in agreement and went back to her room. I went into the kitchen to find my dad filling out the papers. "Hey dad! What you doing?" I asked, sounding like I didn't know anything. "Just some paperwork." "Can me and Rosy go to the park?" My dad nodded and looked at his watch. "Noru, bring Natty and Rosy back in one hour." Noru nodded and floated next to me. "Is Rosy ready?" He asked. I nodded. "Yeah, just getting somethings." Then, Rosy came out of her room with her favorite purple bag. It had stars and other shiny things on it. "I ready!" She shouted. I grabbed her hand and walked outside with Noru. I then heard Nikita barking. "Okay Nikita! Come here!" She ran up to us and started running up ahead.

Once we were at the park my sister ran straight to the swings with Nikita running with her. I sat on a bench with Noru floating next to me. "Are you going to play with your sister and Nikita?" I shrugged and said, "I just, am not in the mood." "You are always in the mood to play with your sister." "I just, heard something that I didn't know about." Noru did some robot noises, sort of like a sigh. "Where you listening to your father outside?" I nodded slowly and looked at the ground. "What does he mean?" I asked Noru. Noru did some robot noises again and said, "I can only tell you if I am programmed to. So I am sorry, but I can not tell you." "It's fine." We sat there for a few minutes of silence. "Natty, I..." Before Noru finished, I heard an alarm go off. It was very loud, everyone came running out of their houses with nothing in their hands. Noru did a robot sound, but like a startled sound. "We must go Natty." He said. I quickly grabbed my sister off the swings. "What happened?" She asked, holding her bag tightly. I put her on my back and said, "I don't know. Just stay with me okay?" She nodded and held onto me. I whistled for Nikita to come and she did so. I followed Noru back to my parents. "Natty, take these!" My dad yelled, handing me some papers. I took the papers and yelled back, "What are these for?!" "Take them to vault 111. I order you to explain everything to them!" Noru nodded. "Stay with your sister and watch out for her!" My mom yelled, crying. I hugged her and cried. My sister was crying behind my back yelling, "No! No! I no go with out mommy and daddy!" My mom and dad kissed her and hugged me. "Noru will explain! Just go!" Then my parents ran off to the other direction. Some people were going that way too. I didn't move, I just stood still. I was crying harder than I've ever cried. "Come on Natty! We must go!" I hear Noru yell. I nodded and ran next to him with my sister on my back and Nikita barking at the siren. She was crying, holding her bag and her stuff bear. We ran out of town and went over a bridge. I saw some iron fences and some guards guarding it. Noru was in front of us. "What is happening?!" I yelled to Noru. "An unknown corporation launched a nuke on Earth! So, some people were invited into a safe zone called a vault! Your mother and father had to go to vault 77!" We then reached the gate and one of the guards asked for something. I handed him the papers and he motioned for me to go inside. I walked through the gates and noticed the Noru wasn't following me. "Noru!" He shook his head and shouted back, "I must stay! I will live this nuke! But you won't unless you get into that vault!" I nodded and waved good-bye, with more tears in my eyes. He nodded and floated back to our house. I continued to run with Nikita until I saw this iron platform. Many people were on it. Another guard motioned me to go onto the platform and I did so. I placed my sister down and held her hand tightly. "Where....mommy...and daddy?" She asked, crying between words. "We will see them, but for now stay right next to me!" She nodded and hugged my waist and Nikita. I wrapped my arm around her and stood there. The platform started to move down. My sister held me tighter as the platform moved down and Nikita continued to bark louder and louder. When half of my body was below ground I saw a huge explosion. It was red like fire and boomed like a thousand cannons. All the people screamed, especially the ones that were still above ground. The platform moved faster down and a lid closed on top of us. We all screamed, but stayed on the platform. Once the platform stopped in front of some iron doors, they opened. We were greeted by some people that explained some things about the vault. They told us that we were going to be put into vaults that would stop our bodies from decaying until it would open. The thing that scares me is that they don't know when our vaults would open. Some may open before others, so I asked if me and Rosy could share a vault. "Sorry miss. But she is no baby." I knelt down in front of my sister and said, "If your vault opens before mine, I want you to go back to our house. If Noru isn't there, come back and try to find someone else. Okay?" "Okay sissy. But I no leaving you." I nodded and hugged her. We were then taken to the vaults and sorted into one, one by one. Me and my sister were the last ones to be sorted. "If our coding is correct, both of your vaults should open at the same time, in 200 years." I thanked her and watched my sister get put in. "I stay with my stuff?" She asked the lady. She nodded and placed her into the seat. It was like a roller coaster seat, but with no straps. They closed the door and my sister put her hand on the glass. I put my hand on the other side of the glass and lip-talked, "I'll be right here." She smiled and sat back. They clicked a button that let out a huge gas off freezing cold air. I looked through the glass to see my sister frozen in her chair. She was holding her teddy bear and her bag in both hands. "Your turn." They opened they door and I stepped in, holding Nikita in my hands. They closed the door. I looked over at my sister for one last time. Then, a rush of very cold wind hit me. Everything was black. It felt like everything was stopped in time. The only thing I could do now was stay still and wait.
