I was new to the wasteland. I just got out of a vault. I was stuck in the pods for 200 years.....according to this pipboy I found.
I couldn't find a good place to stay. The houses are destroyed too much to fix. Hostile people taken over the town near a place called "sanctuary".
I was hopeless. It was around 4:00 ( I think... my pipboy could be off by an hour) I had to find a place to stay. I noticed in sanctuary a broken Bridge leads to a gas station. The station looked safer than any were else at the time. I soon reached the station " red rocket" it said. I looked inside. I found a medic kit, some comics to pass the time, and food but I wasn't tempted to eat it anytime soon. I hear barking outside. Without thinking I go outside to see a German Shepherd. It seemed to smile at my presence.

"Hey there" I reach my hand out to pet the dog. It seemed very friendly. After I was done petting it the dog would not leave my side.
Guess I have a new friend I think.
"........I'll name you....dogmeat"
Dogmeat seemed to bark in approval. I felt connected with the stray. But I knew we were going to be best friends.
