Wanda's POV

A few days passed and I was starting getting used to the new life; being in the middle of nowhere was amazing, I didn't have to hide who I really was and no one was around screaming because they were scared of me.

I decided to start gardening too, plant some fruits and vegetables so I could avoid to go to town the most as possible. Yes, there was a little town near where I was, I went there a couple of times to buy necessaries like food and clothes, but only for a couple of hours.

No one knew who I was, knew what I did, they all thought I was a normal person and that was a good feeling, not being hated for once.

I was sat on the sofa, watching sitcoms on tv, when I heard a noise from outside and then footsteps as if someone was running.

I looked at the window and I saw a deer running while a few seconds later I saw someone running too but it was too fast for a normal person.

The person stopped and looked at me: he was tall, blonde and seemed young too. He didn't look too tired even if he was running that fast and I could see from his face that he was panicking a little, maybe he didn't notice someone was looking at him.

We stared for a few seconds until I decided to move and exit the house. He didn't move at all but when he saw me approaching he smiled.

-I didn't know someone lived here- he said -I apologize if I made noises-.

-It's ok don't worry and I just moved here a few days ago- I said, trying to hide my hands in the shirt sleeves so he didn't see the dark fingers.

-Oh well welcome then! What's your name?- he asked.

-I'm Wanda, and you?-.

-I'm Jasper, nice to meet you- he said -Where are you from?-.

Well... Another universe? Do you know about multiverse? I knew that Sokovia existed in this universe too but I couldn't risk that he found out I wasn't human so I decided to lie.

-New York- I said, living there with the Avengers I soon learnt the accent so people didn't understand I was from another country -You?-.

-Texas- he said -A big change right?-.

-Yeah- I said smiling -Why moving this far?-.

-Family, you?- he asked smiling too.

-Bad things happened and I couldn't stay there anymore-.

-Oh yeah I understand- he said and then noticed me keeping hiding my hands in the sleeves -Are you cold?-.

-It's the wind, it is a bit fresh- I said lying -I think it is going to rain again-.

-Yeah, it rains a lot here- he said -Well I have to go now, I'll see you around I guess?-.

I nodded smiling. -I was nice to meet you-.

-Same here, see you!- he said and started walking.

I looked at him until he left my sight and then went back inside my house.

I tried to read his mind while he was there but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't hear anything.

While he was there with me I felt so calm, for a few minutes all the pain was gone and it seemed as if I could breathe.

Suddenly I felt the same pain again in my heart and I fell on the ground; even though I destroyed the Darkhold, dark magic was still inside me and slowly killing me.

I thought about my kids, about Vision, I had to be strong for them but I didn't kniw how much time I had left.

And now this guy, Jasper, was in my life too and I had a feeling that we would have met again.
