✿ I guess I am ✿

Another day of school passed and everyone was leaving. I closed my locker, turning around to head for the exit. But then I heard my name being called from a distance.

"Ashlee!!" I whipped my head towards the direction of the voice and saw Luke jogging to me. I smiled turning my full body to his attention.

"What's up?" I asked having to bend my neck a little because he was a head taller than me.

"I need your help." He started as we began walking off campus. Down the street, Luke continued. "You know things about girls right? I mean..." He paused.

I nodded. "Yeah and?" Luke sighed walking beside me.

"Well, what do they like on a date?" He asked.

That question halted me from walking. I thought about the question connecting it towards Francesca. My lips pursed as I started to feel my heart race a little. I glanced up at Luke who was already looking down at me for an answer.

"Well, it depends. Girls are different. We all like different things." I shrugged continuing to walk. Luke nodded following by my side.

"Well, this girl...uhm..." He slowed. I just stared in front of me waiting for his reply.

"What does she like?" I asked hoping for Luke to have an answer already.

"She likes to listen to music and when she does, she looks so peaceful listening to the lyrics..." Luke said dreamily. I looked up at him from the side, my heart beating faster

"A-and I think she loves makeup, because everyday she looks amazing." Luke chuckled looking down. I tried to control my heart rate, I knew who he was talking about.

And it wasn't me, but I'm a friend and I was gonna help him because I want him to be happy.

"Well, maybe make her a music playlist." I shrugged.

"Yeah I was thinking that." Luke grinned. I looked up at him as we came to a corner.

"This is where I turn." I said to Luke telling him I'm almost home.

Luke nodded saying, "Okay, thanks Ashlee. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Okay, bye Luke." I smiled to the tall boy as he took the other turn. As I turned the corner going into my general neighborhood, I fixed up my bag looking down.

Just the thought of Luke and Francesca...I don't feel...happy? I should be happy that he found someone that makes him happy...but why does it break my heart?

'Am I just jealous? Do I actually...like Luke? Whaaaat no. He's a friend, Ashlee. Friends stay friends, unless it's a fairytale and both friends fall in love with each other- ASHLEE NO!! Just friends...'

Yay another day of school!! Note the sarcasm. I usually enjoy school, I mean you get to see your friends everyday and get out of the house, but something felt different. Maybe I'm still caught up about Luke and I's conversation the other day.

Man I gotta let that go.

"Hey Ashlee!" I heard my name. Turning around, I find Calum standing behind me.

"Hey, Cal." I greeted. "What do you need?" I then asked.

"Bailey and I are throwing a party at my place this weekend. Can you come?" Calum asked. I nodded.

"Hell yeah!" I replied. Calum smiled.
The bell rang starting off 1st period.

"I'll see you later, yeah?" Calum said walking away. I waved 'bye' before going into my first class. Yay!!

"Okay so we need plastic cups, drinks, food..." Bailey listed off. Calum, Luke and Bailey are at my house and they're planning the party.

Don't know why they're doing it where I live, but I'm a friend and I have the house that's free. I'm in the kitchen while the three are in my living room. I may or may not be eaves dropping.

"Bailey calm down I'm on the second page of the list!" Calum chuckled. "Okay okay..." Bailey said backing down.

"Who's coming?" Luke asked. I perked my ears. "All of us, plus Ashlee," Calum answered.

"So far." Being in the kitchen for too long, I went back to the living room. I was approaching the couch when Luke started off.

"Can Francesca come?" I almost stopped walking, but luckily I didn't make myself suspicious.

"Francesca?" I asked as if I didn't know her. Luke looked up at me with his blue eyes.

'Of course you know her, Ashlee!! What are you doing?!' I yelled in my thoughts.

"Oh yeah, she's my new girlfriend." Luke said in a 'well you know' tone. I looked down suddenly feeling my face heat up.

"That's why I asked you the other day what do girls like." Luke smiled. I nodded trying my best to look up at him.

I saw in the corner of my eye Calum looking at me. I didn't look back to not make anything awkward.

"New girlfriend?" I asked quietly finally having the courage to bring my face up. I looked over at Bailey who shrugged.

"Yeah, we've been dating for a little more than a week." Luke said grinning. I forced up a smile, trying to cover up my breaking heart.

"That's nice." I muttered before picking up the list of items needed for the party. I did so to break the weird tension I'm feeling.

"So is this all we need?" I asked scanning the page. "Yeah, we just have to buy everything." Bailey nodded.

"This party is gonna be great." Bailey commented after. "Where is it? Cal's house?" I asked sitting up.

"Yup, Saturday that night." I chuckled sitting back on the couch.

"This is gonna be great."
