THE BATTLE INSIDE MY HEAD

my path is a short corner
of wrongs and rights
including dancing figure eights
in the dirty Cleveland snow
and the restless insomniac nights
of a teenagers broken home.
irritated skin and burning
incense, and delicate candle lights
the smallest faint memories
in which I try to repress but
love is an equal sacrifice to
the ones who can't choose
their absolute. I
reprimand, control and dictate
my motives as if it were
written on a biblical scroll
but each path drives away
my long lost sanity and head.
the walks are bittersweet
but my memories are far
from any delicate sweet.
the drives are quick with speed
and my head is pounding in
wicked burn without fleeting.
blame this all on the wicked.
