PROLOGUE PART II

- "why'd you do it?"
- "I was sick."
- "doesn't explain anything. why'd you do it?"
- "I was alone and nobody was there to stop me. It was knotted too, I just couldn't bring the rope around my neck. I wanted to but I shake too much for my own good."
- "stop it, stop changing the subject. why'd you do it?"
- "I felt like people laughed behind my back. I'm a good person why do they laugh, scream and hate me?"
- "I don't hate you."
-"of course you don't. you're supposed to say that.
the thing is if the rope was tied around my neck and I had done it, I wouldn't be here today. I wouldn't see my niece go to head start. I wouldn't see my mom look healthier. I wouldn't see my brother promote. I wouldn't have seen you. I'd be stripping you away of your moments of euphoria."
- "I don't think that would have stopped you.
by the way you answered "why didn't you do it?" not "why'd you do it?"
so what's the truth?"
- " I did it to stop listening to you."
