ABILITIES

Hellhound control- any dog born of fire or hell is under her control, and they are her guardians. There are four she keeps closest, that she practically grew up with, named Hypnos, Lyssa, Thanatos, and Nemesis. This is her strongest power.

Demonic fire- she can control and produce hellish fire that burns through purities and cannot be put out by any force but her own.

Shadow travel- she is able to disappear into shadows, and travel between them quickly.

Demon form- this form gives her enhanced speed and strength, but is also so gruesome and divine that it rips apart the soul of any human who sets eyes on it. It takes a lot of energy and fury to transform, and when she is full demon, she has a one-track mind to commit as many sins as possible. It's unstable, and so rarely used.

Resistance to any sort of mind control- such as compulsion, charm speak, or anything else that tries to get into her head. This is a hereditary trait that must manifest in any prince or princess, and is her claim to the throne.

PERSONALITY

Vicious, cold, and out for blood, she's the thing that goes bump in the night, the demon they warn you about in church. She laughs at the misery of others and orchestrates pain with all the reverence of a composer- this is the Neoma that was forged in hellfire, the result of a lifetime of loneliness and pain and so much fear. She's learned that it hurts much more to be the weakling being tortured than the torturer of the weak, so Neo never lets her tears fall or her anguish be shown.

The anger and bitterness never need to be faked, they come to her in droves. The only thing stronger than her fear is her rage, and she's allowed it to shape her into a hot-headed, sarcastic Princess who controls her subjects with an iron fist, like her father before her. It is only thanks to her inner strength and resilience that she hadn't cracked long ago, that she's able to drown out the voice crying out that this wasn't who she was. There's no room for her sensitivity in hell.

Neo only ever functions independently- she has learned to trust no one, and it is her most important lesson. Whatever she has, she has had to fight for, and Neoma is nothing if not adaptable and determined- determined to destroy her final shreds of humanity and prove that she deserves the throne of hell. She puts herself front and center to prevent herself from disappearing, as she fears she will should she fail.

She has studied and learned and developed a gift for leadership- she has the intelligence for strategy, plans with more solidity than simple chaos. Neo's ideas are generally dismissed (it's hard to live down being the weak child) and her intelligence is typically underestimated. She has learned command well, and manages to be both authoritative and persuasive- if it weren't demons she were commanding, she would easily inspire loyalty. Neo's kind of demonic seduction is making a person believe that they want what she wants.

Neo sows chaos wherever she goes, and wishes it would make her feel less broken and lost. Far away from any prying eyes, she finds joy in the smallest of things- she loves being on Earth, and she hates herself for that. Neoma is incredibly insecure about acting too human, and is anxious about giving too much away- she overcompensates in arrogance and taunting. She's at her cruelest when backed into a corner.

HISTORY

Demons rarely reproduce with each other, but sought to spread the corruption of souls as far as they could reach. Neo's father, formerly Prince Asmodeus, was no exception. He found a human woman named Mallory Blackburn, who sought rebellion and pain, who was lost in sin and craved more. She had been a foster child who never got adopted or properly loved, and the first time she had ever felt wanted was when a mysterious man chose her. Mallory didn't care to look for the warning signs- he thrilled her and he looked at her like she was the only one (which was never true). Her heart broke and she raged when he left, determined to get rid of the baby he gave her- but no matter what she did, the baby never died. She grew more and more desperate as the months wore on, injuring herself more than her demonic baby, and escaped her fear through drugs and alcohol. Her body grew weak, and the birth in an alleyway had killed her. No one held Neo when she came screeching into the world.

Maybe it was the human in her, but Neo spent her childhood desperately terrified. She would go searching for love or affection only to find manipulation and torture in its place, and learned quickly how to hide her yearning for connection. Her father's acknowledgment was the closest thing she could get to love, and so began working hard to be the demon he wanted. To her brother it came naturally, but Neo had to fight hard in shoving her humanity so deep down that it would be lost to her darkness. There was no trust in a world where loyalty was a flaw, and with only one throne between two siblings, she vowed she would prove herself ruler. 

the inferno

Neo has become the perfect little demon- she's killed when told, put her own spin on torture, and shown defiance when it could be praised. She's faked bloodthirstiness for so long that you'd think it would sink into her nature, but she still gets nauseous every time she takes a life. Finally she has proven herself corrupt enough to be put in the field, to spread corruption in her father's name on Earth.

DO THEY REMEMBER ANYTHING?

Neo knows she was born of Chaos, but takes it for its metaphorical rather than literal sense. She feels comfort and power in the night, but assumes it has more to do with her demon lineage. Her inclination for mischief and destruction, although she is unaware, spurs from Nyx. Sometimes she dreams of a vast expanse, of emptiness beyond anything mortal, and a firm determination to fill it as she pleases- she always wakes up from these crying, so she hates them more than any other.
