Chapter 40
"Happy Wedding Day!"
Shrieking at the top of my lungs, I tumble out of bed and crash into the floor in an array of pillows and bedsheets with wide eyes and my jaw nearly hitting the ground. A nervous giggle leaving my lips as I slowly peer over my bed to look toward Fuyumi and Rumi who grin happily toward me holding my breakfast while Rei instantly rushes to my side to help me up. The women giggling to themselves as I rub the back of my neck sheepishly, my cheeks flushing an embarrassed red colour as we all head down the stairs to the dining room.
It was as if overnight my whole downstairs living area had become some sort of beauty salon. On the coffee table sat a huge makeup set up. Lipsticks of all shades on one side. Eyeshadows palettes stacked on top of each other. Foundations and bronzers waiting to be opened. Eyebrow pencils and eyeliners lined up to be used. Liquid and pencil alike. Skincare and face masks were sitting on the table to do before applying the makeup making my stomach churn nervously at the sheer amount of makeup just sitting on the table.
On the dining table it looked like a hairdressing clinic exploded. Hair ties and hair clips were sitting in an array with countless cans of hairspray and mousse and gel. God this seemed like overkill...
Sitting amongst the buttload of hair products and hair accessories, sat Eri with Aizawa. The little girl happily waving toward me as her father figure brushes her hair back to put it into two twin ponytails. Her soft red eyes shimmering with excitement as she playfully wiggles in her fathers lap making him chuckle and shake his head with a smile with a hair tie in between his teeth. Shota sends me a smile as I walk in and sit down to eat my pancakes.
"Morning (Y/n)," Shota hums with a smile, the male keeping Eri in place as he ties her hair into the twin bunches, the girl giggling to me as I stick my tongue out toward her, "Excited?"
"Yeah, I am... I've been waiting for this day ever since I found out he was alive," I reply with a giggle, taking a mouthful of pancake with a smile and happily chowing down on the sweet batter coated with my favourite pancake toppings, "Hello Eri, sweetie, you excited for today? Ready to show me your princess dress?"
"Yeah! Daddy and I picked it up before we came here!" Eri says excited, wiggling off Shota's lap once he lets her go to dart toward me and climb into my lap making me giggle as I pick her up, the girl snuggling into me as I hold her close as I eat, "It's got a pretty flower on the top bit! It's really pretty!"
"Awww, well I can't wait to see it," I hum, running my fingers through her ponytails, swallowing down my pancakes with a smile as she pulls funny faces toward Shota who sticks his tongue out and yawns, "Tired?"
"I'm always tired," Shota hums chuckling softly, running his fingers over his eyes to try and force himself to be awake making me smile, the long black haired male swallowing down his coffee with a groan, "Your dad not coming then?"
"No... managed to convince Izuku not to come either, turns out he's dating his mom," I explain with a small scoff, shaking my head with a bittersweet smile as Shota sends me a reassuring one, "But it's fine, if my dad doesn't want to be a part of my big day then that's his problem,"
"It's okay (Y/n)! You can share my daddy!" Eri squeals happily making me coo toward her and kiss her forehead gently. God she's adorable! Why is she so cute?! A giggle leaves my lips as I shake my head, "No?"
"It's okay sweetie, I'll be okay," I tell her, giggling as she holds her pinkie toward me as if to tell me I need to promise that I'll be okay, after wrapping my pinkie around hers she smiles, "Now why don't you go off and play for a bit? Maybe draw a picture while we get me ready yeah?"
"Yeah!" Eri says happily and wriggles off my lap, pressing a kiss to Shota's cheek before skipping toward the playroom to be out of the way of the mayhem about to pursue. Knowing how hectic that a wedding day can be, I thought it would be best that Eri stays out of the way so she doesn't get yelled at by Rei or knocks something over. I'm pretty sure Enji was keeping Hiro entertained while Natsuo gets Toya ready for the day.
As soon as Eri's out of the room and my breakfast is finished, Rei is on my life a predator on prey. Rei now on momzilla mode now that the child is out of the way. The white haired woman pulling me chair to make me face her as she begins to make a start on my makeup making me giggle gently. Being less stressed and more relaxed, Rumi skips up behind me and begins to make a start on my hair. The brush begins to tug on my hair and yanking on my knots making me wince gently as Rei holds her cheeks to keep me in place as she applies the foundation.
"So is everything sorted out?" I ask through squished cheeks, looking toward Rei as she blends in the foundation with a makeup sponge, her grey eyes flooded with focus, "Nothing is unfinished?"
"Everything is sorted out, we have everything under control," Rei reassures me, sending me a reassuring smile as she pulls away to assess the foundation on my face, the woman holding my chin and moving my head every which way to make sure it's blended in properly, "Only thing we need to worry about right now is who's going to walk you down the aisle now that your father has rudely dropped out,"
Biting back a laugh, I groan as my head is pulled back as Rumi brushes my hair and pins it into a ponytail. The rabbit quirked female being quite vigorous when brushing my hair, giggling when I send her a curt glare to tell her to stop being violent while brushing her hair. I haven't had my hair brushed like that in ages! Gran Torino used to brush my hair like that and I thought I was gonna go bald! The old man never had sympathy when it came to brushing my hair!
As Rumi grabs hairspray to bash down the stray hairs, the front door is pushed open and Mina comes rushing in with Momo, Ochaco, Tsuyu, Hagakura and Jiro. Each of the girls were more excited than ever to come to the wedding. Bright smiles play on their lips as they waltz in, waving toward Eri before heading into the main room. The girls squeal happily toward me as I wave at them with a giggle, all of them already clad in their dresses for the day.
And god... they were beautiful!
Momo, beautiful as always, stood in the doorway wearing a beautiful lime green dress that accentuated everything about her. Her hair in her signature ponytail with a little flower clip in her hair to keep her fringe out of her face. Beside her, stood Jiro, the girl clad in a black dress with fingerless fishnet gloves on her hands with a matching hair clip in her fringe. Ochaco was in sheer awe at the sight of the amount of make up and things we had, her eyes shimmering in utter excitement as she looks toward my wedding dress, the girl clad in a soft pink dress while Tsuyu skips in clad in a beautiful deep green dress. A giggle leaving my lips as Mina waltzes in, in a deep red dress with Hagakure close behind in another pink dress.
"You guys look great," I tell them with a smile, giggling as they all gush at my dress making me giggle, "Thank you girls for coming today, I really appreciate it,"
"Of course! We wouldn't miss it for the world!" Mina squeals happily, waving toward Shota who tiredly waves back and pushes himself up, Mina gawking at his lazy attire, "You are not wearing that, sir, surely!"
"Of course I'm not," Shota says shaking his head as he stretches his arms over his head with a clear of his throat, the male gesturing to a suit hanging up in the living room, "I have a suit ready to wear,"
Giggling, the girl sit down on the couch and continue to gossip amongst each other. Shota sends me a reassuring smile as he leaves the dining room to get changed into his suit and help Eri get changed into her little dress. Meanwhile, Rei finishes up on my eye makeup, making sure they the eyeliner is as amazing as it can be and then applying lipstick to my lips with a smile while Rumi finishes placing pearls and diamond hair clips into my hairstyle. The girl smiling to herself as she pulls away.
"There we go," Rei hums, pulling away gently, looking over my makeup with a smile before nodding to herself making herself sniffle gently as tears begin to crowd in her eyes, "God..."
"Are you okay, Ma?" I ask worried, looking toward her with a small smile as I take her hands into my own, watching her shake her head gently and sniffling gently to try and prevent herself from crying, "Whats wrong?..."
"You're just so beautiful... I can't believe you're marrying my baby..." Rei sobs gently, taking the handkerchief from me as she dabs at her eyes, "Look at me... not even three hours into the day and I'm already a mess..."
"Ma, we're not even at the venue yet," I hum gently with a soft giggle, trying not to get myself choked up knowing that she'd deck me if I ruined my makeup, "Don't cry,"
"I'm trying not to," Rei says with a soft laugh, taking a deep breath as she wipes her eyes and shakes her head, setting herself back on course with a hum, "Right, lets get you in your dress and then head to the venue. Toya's already there, Natsuo's just text Fuyumi,"
"Okay," I hum gently, taking a deep breath as I head toward my room, Rei and Fuyumi close behind with the dress, "Okay,"
Taking a deep breath, I close my eyes and ready myself for this, a smile on my lips as I open my eyes and look toward the two Todoroki women who send me a soft smiles. While Fuyumi sorts my wedding dress out, I shimmy out of my night clothes while making sure that I don't ruin the makeup or the hair, a giggle leaving my lips as Rei tucks a strand of hair behind my ear after I pull the garter onto my thigh with a giggle.
Then, after hyping myself up for it, I step into the wedding dress and let Fuyumi pull it up. I close my eyes, wanting to see the finished product as it were. Both Rei and Fuyumi sorting out the back of the dress, making sure that the clasps were up to standard and that my dress wasn't going to fall down and expose myself. A smile couldn't help but etch across my lips as I hear Rei choke back another sob while Fuyumi sorts out the skirt of the dress.
"Okay, you can open your eyes,"
Slowly, I allow my eyes to flutter open before gasping gently at my reflection. Finally feeling like a bride, I gently brush my hands down my dress and hum. A giggle leaving my lips as I look toward Fuyumi and Rei who happily smile my way, Rei trying so hard not to burst into tears. The woman dabbing at her eyes sniffling.
"Wow..." Rei hums gently, sniffling as she wipes her tears away, "Go downstairs and show the others,"
"Rei, you girls still here?" We hear Enji call from downstairs, Rei giggling gently as I smile toward her nervously, "Is (Y/n) ready yet?"
"Yeah, we're coming down," I call down, taking one more look toward my reflection with a smile before leaving my bedroom and heading downstairs to see Enji, the male holding Hiro who gawks toward me, "Hi,"
Enji smiles gently toward me as he sets Hiro down, the little boy darting toward me in his little suit and making grabby hands toward me. Happily, I pull him into my arms, kissing his forehead gently with a giggle as he plays with my dress. My father - in - law smiles as I look toward him, the male coughing gently trying to hide, what I think, was a small sob.
"You okay Enji?" I ask, tilting my head with a smile as Hiro snuggles into me with a hum, the boy kissing my cheek gently with a giggle, "What's up with papa?"
"He cried when daddy got into his suit," Hiro says with a giggle, watching as Enji chuckles gently and pushes himself to the kitchen to grab himself a handkerchief making me smile, "You're really pretty mama! Like a princess!"
"Thank you sweetie," I coo kissing his forehead before placing him on the floor, ruffling his hair before walking to the kitchen where Enji is, giggling as I find him wiping his eyes while clearing his throat, "I don't think I've ever seen you cry... not going soft on us are you?"
"That's because I try not to let myself be so vulnerable, (Y/n)," Enji hums gently, clearing his throat as he wipes his eyes and takes a deep breath to try and control himself before smiling softly as I walk toward him, "Look at you... it's a shame your father can't come..."
"Yeah... I know... but if anything you've been more of a father figure than he has to me," I reply with a soft giggle, thinking about how ironic that is, the man beside me chuckling gently, "How was Hiro overnight?"
"He was fine, he slept in my room with me," Enji explains, nodding to himself as he dabs at his eyes again and clears his throat, "Said you came and popped by to give Toya cuddles,"
"Little shit," I mumble under my breath, shaking my head with a smile making Enji chuckle and squeeze my good shoulder gently, "Look T —"
"I know, I did the same for Rei before our wedding day," Enji explains, smiling toward me as I giggle gently and play with the silk of my wedding dress while he rubs my back, "I just want to say to you that I'm glad it's you that's marrying him and no one else... I believe he couldn't have anyone better,"
"What about when you called me a slut?" I ask arching a brow, giggling as he rubs the back of his neck and sighs gently, "Or a whore? Or telling me that I should have —"
"Yeah... I know what I said... and I definitely know it was out of line," he begins, looking toward me as I rest my hands on my hips and look toward him, "I just... everything was just so... hectic... and stressful and I took that out on you when I shouldn't have..."
"Has Toya forgiven you yet?" I ask, watching as his shoulders relax gently, smiling to himself as he nods gently, "Then I forgive you as well and I am grateful for what you've done for me and Hiro over the past few years... even if you've been a bit of a handful,"
"Thank you," Enji hums, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me into a tight hug making me giggle gently and hug him back with a smile, "We better get you to the venue before Toya thinks something's happened,"
"Of course... and Enji," I call out, watching him begin to leave the kitchen before stopping in his tracks to turn toward me, arching a brow as I take a deep breath and fiddle with my hands gently, "Could you... uh... walk me down... the aisle?..."
"I would love to," He reassures me, sending me a smile before leaving the kitchen and heading out the door. Leaving me alone in my house, leaving me with my thoughts as I slowly make my way to the front door.
The closer I become to the front door, the more nervous I become. My stomach slowly twisting and tying into knots as I grab the door handle. My palms sweaty. My head spinning as I slowly push down the handle to open the door. My legs feeling like jelly. My breath catching in my throat as I look down at my dress. God... why am I so nervous?... I've got nothing to worry about... I'm going to be marrying the love of my life. I'm finally going to be happy.
Taking one last look toward my living room, my eyes slowly falling onto the picture sitting on the counter as you walk into the home that holds the keys. A picture of Toya and I when we first met. The pair of us leaning into each other as we lean back against one of the cherry blossom trees in the Todoroki garden. Must have been a year or so before he left. Before I fell pregnant. Smiling toward the picture, I press a kiss against my middle and forefinger before pressing it against my boyfriends face on the glass before nodding to myself.
I can do this. I got this.
Opening the door, I smile toward Enji and Rei who are waiting outside the car with a smile. Hiro sitting in the back seat waving toward me and dancing excitedly in his car seat as I walk toward the car and sit down in the front seat beside the driver. Enji taking his place in the drivers seat while Rei sits with Hiro in the back while Fuyumi hitches a ride with Rumi. Enji then starts the car and begins to drive toward the venue with a smile.
"You have your vows sorted?" Enji asks as he drives down the motorway, checking the rear view mirror every so often to look at Rei who giggles and smiles toward him, "Know what you're going to say?"
"Yeah, I'm ready," I reply with a smile, giggling as I turn around in my see to check on my son, the little boy giggling happily as he looks toward me, "Ready to give mama and daddy our wedding rings?"
"Yeah! Uncle Natsuo has them at the moment," Hiro chirps, moving his head to the song playing in the car while clapping his hands, "Uncle Sho didn't feel very well this morning,"
"What happened?" Rei asks worried looking toward Enji who chuckles and smiles, Rei arching a brow, "Enji? What did you do?"
"I may have let Shoto had some alcohol last night, I didn't let him go overboard, he just had three glasses of wine," Enji says and laughs as Rei hits his arm as best she can from the back seat of the car, "Oh Rei, shush, I was with him the whole time to make sure he didn't get sick, he was fine,"
"Great, we have a drunk Shoto," I hum with a laugh, giggling as Rei mutters under her breath and going through her phone to text scold Shoto, "How was Toya this morning?"
"He's excited... after throwing his nerves up," Enji informs me making me gawk at him with wide eyes, watching as Enji sends me a reassuring smile, "He's okay, he just had some pre - wedding jitters and he couldn't hold his breakfast down. He's okay now, Natsuo managed to get some food into him before we left and Touya is fine, trust me,"
"As long as he's okay," I tell him, sending him smile as he pulls the car up to where Shoto and Natsuo are standing, the pair of them waving happily toward me before helping me out the car, "Hi you two!"
"God, look at you gorgeous,"
Giggling gently, I turn around to see Keigo. The winged male grinning playfully toward me as he wraps an arm around my shoulder and pulls me into his chest making me roll my eyes and flick his forehead making him whine. Keigo was clad in his red and black suit, a white rose in his breast pocket. He had to be presentable, of course.
Being my boyfriends best man and everything.
"Hey Keigo, how's worry warts doing?" I ask with a giggle, pulling away from him to let Shoto pull me into a hug, the male smiling as I run my fingers through his hair, "He doing okay?"
"Oh he's fine, he's going over his vows in the little canopy bit," Keigo explains with a smile, chuckling to himself, "I tried putting a little edit in there for him, wanting him to talk about your ass but he signed my wings and kicked me out,"
"You're unbelievable," I hum rolling my eyes as I shake my head with a giggle, ruffling Shoto's hair before pulling away and smiling, "Okay! Let's do this!"
Within the buzz and excitement, Rei pulls me through the venue and toward a room to the side. The woman opening up the little case that Enji had followed her in with before pulling out a tiara and veil. This was Rei's veil. The very veil she wore at her own wedding. As she pins it into place, making sure that it won't fall out in the middle of the ceremony, she pushes the tiara into my hair and smiles as she pulls away. Happy with her work, Rei pulls my hands into hers and squeezes them gently.
Shoto then opens the door, clearing his throat and nodding toward my mother who nods and hurries him out the room before turning to me.
"Looks like they're ready for you sweetie," Rei says gently, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear before kissing my forehead and clearing her throat, "I'll see you out the — wait! Who's walking you down the aisle?"
"Enji is," I explain, giggling as her eyes widen and a soft smile etched across her lips before pressing a kiss to her husbands cheek who chuckles and kisses her forehead, "You go take your place, ma"
"Good luck honey... and congratulations," she hums, sending me a reassuring smile before turning on her heels and leaving the room to go into the main room where the ceremony was being held, "Enji! Don't trip down the aisle!"
Enji chuckles to himself as he shuts the door behind her, letting me get to grips with everything before I finally go out there to get married. To become a Todoroki. To become Toya's wife. To become (Y/n) Todoroki. My heart beats a mile a minute as I lean against the chair in the room and take a deep breath, closing my eyes to try and ground myself. Squeezing the head of the chair, I rest my forehead against the backs of my hands. A sigh leaving my lips as I stand back up and look toward the wall with a hum.
I can do this. I've waiting all my life to do this.
Psyching myself up, I turn toward Enji who sends me a reassuring smile and pulls my hands into his own larger ones. I harshly squeezing his hands, giggling when I notice him wince before pulling away and nodding toward him.
"Ready?" He asks, resting a hand on my shoulder as I take another deep breath, closing my eyes again before opening them up, "You okay?"
"Yeah, I'm okay," I tell him, nodding in confidence, grabbing the bouquet of flowers from Enji. Finally quenching the nervousness in my stomach, I grab the handle and push it open, hearing the organ play the cliché wedding march, "I'm ready,"
No turning back now...
As I take Enji's arm, he opens up the doors and helps me through into the main ceremony. My eyes widen at the sheer amount of decor and people inside as I slowly step one foot in front of the other. My heart beating in my ears as I look around to see the beautiful arrangements of flowers dotted around the room. Beautiful silk banners hanging by the windows and cinched together with bows. Tons of candles group together in certain areas, lit up with the flames dancing in a mesmerising fashion.
Standing from their seats, my eyes widen as I see everyone. Seeing most of the kids from 1A. Seeing the girls giving me big thumbs up with bright smiles. Seeing a handful of the boys that Shoto dragged to the wedding among the crowd who smile toward me and wave happily toward me. Kirishima giving me a tooth smile. As I look more, my eyes widen. Is that Uncle David?! When did he get there?... And... oh my god... Gran Torino is there?! A giggle leaves my lips as I wave toward my cousin Melissa who jumps slightly up and down and waves excitedly.
Then I turn my attention to the alter.
And my heart skips a beat.
There, standing tall, albeit nervously, was Toya. The male gently rolling on his feet as he takes a deep breath and looks toward me. A smile on his lips. A genuine smile. His nervousness suddenly evaporating in thin air as his eyes land on me. Clad in a beautiful crisp black suit. My favourite flower in his breast pocket. His eyes full of nothing but love and adoration as I gently walk down the aisle toward him. The veil in front of me unable to stop him from seeing the bright smile on my lips as I kiss Enji's cheek gently before standing opposite my fiancé and utterly relaxing.
"You're beautiful..." he mutters, winking toward me as he pushes the veil from my face and chuckling gently when I stick my tongue out toward him, "I'm so lucky..."
"Shall we begin?" The vicar asks, smiling toward us as we nod, "Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to witness the betrothal of Mr. Toya Todoroki and Miss (Y/n) (L/n). If you could do your vows,"
Smiling gently, I watch as Toya turns toward Keigo who hands him a slip of paper, winking toward him before Toya turns his attention back to me and clears his throat. The male taking a deep breath before looking toward me and smiling gently.
"When... when I first met you, I couldn't believe my luck when you agreed to go out with me," Toya begins, his hands slightly shaking as he looks toward his piece of paper from time to time to make sure he's going along the right lines, "I didn't necessarily have the best childhood and having you suddenly come into my life was more than I could have asked for... you're beautiful, you're sweet, you're so kind and you're one of the strongest women that I know. Having you in my life is the best thing that ever happened to be and knowing that I have you forever is like a dream come true... you make me so happy and you make me realise that I'm more than just staples and scars... I love you so much, babe"
"And Miss (L/n),"
"Growing up... I didn't exactly have what you call a stable relationship with anyone. My father would go out to work and leave me with anyone that could look after me," I begin, taking a deep breath as I look toward him, suddenly relaxing as he flashes me a smile, "I thought that I'd never be able to find someone that sees me for me... that I'd never find my soulmate. But that day... when you asked me out... I knew that you were special. I knew that we would be more than just dates and stolen kisses...
When I fell pregnant and I found out you left... it felt like a part of me went missing. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't forget you. I couldn't get you out of my head. So when you suddenly popped out of nowhere, I thought that my life would finally click back into place. Toya, I love you so much... you've given me everything I've ever wanted. You've given me my baby boy, you've loved every part of me no matter what I think about it and you've always been so supportive. I love you so much and I can't wait for what's to come for us... you're my soulmate..."
"Could we have the rings?" The vicar asks, the whole room cooing toward Hiro as he toddles toward us both and hands us each a ring, the boy kissing our cheeks gently as we kneel down before skipping back to Rei who pulls him into her lap and showers him in kisses, "Now, do you, Toya Todoroki, take Miss (Y/n) (L/n) as your lawfully wedded wife, in sickness and health til death do you part?"
"I do," Toya hums, sliding the ring onto my finger making me smile and cough back a sob as I look toward him with a giggle, "More than anything..."
"And Miss (Y/n)," The vicar asks looking toward me as I clear my throat and smile, "Do you take Mr. Toya Todoroki to be your lawfully wedded husband, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?"
"I do," I reply, taking the ring and pushing it onto his finger with a smile, giggling as Toya coughs gently and sniffles, "I really do..."
"If anyone against this marriage, speak now or forever hold your peace," The vicar calls out, looking toward our audience. Toya and I look toward everyone and eye them to make them shut up just in case anyone did try before giggling between us, "Well, by the power invested in me, I pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride,"
Giggling gently, I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him down for a kiss before he can even comprehend anything. The male smirks against my lips as he pulls me into him by my hips and returns the kiss before pulling away as everyone stands up and claps for us. Some cheering and some whistling. Hiro squeals happily and runs toward us, jumping into Toya's arms and pulling us into a tight cuddle. The little boy kissing our cheeks.
"You're such a sap," Dabi teases, squeezing my ass gently without anyone knowing making me gawk toward him with a giggle, hitting his chest playfully as he teases me, "Outdoing me, how dare you,"
"Mama?" Hiro asks, gently patting my cheek gently to catch my attention before looking toward Toya to try and catch his attention too, "Can I ask something?"
"Of course baby, what is it?" I ask, running my fingers through his hair as he snuggles into us with a giggle, "Is everything okay?"
"C — can... can I... maybe," Hiro begins, stuttering gently as he plays with my bouquet of flowers shyly, pouting to himself as he mills over his question, "Can I... uh... um..."
"Hiro, what's up?" I ask gently, tilting my head at his rather shh demeanour, arching a brow toward Toya who shrugs gently and looks toward him, waiting for an answer, "What's your question?"
"Can I have a baby brother or sister please? I only want one! Pretty please with a cherry on top! I'll eat all my veggies and I'll be a good boy! I just wanna play with them!"...
"Well, I suppose we can sweetie, you'll just h— Toya!"...
"Daddy! Don't fall asleep! Get up! I asked you a question!"...
