The Date - Part 2
Noah takes my hand softly as he plants a kiss on my forehead. Though I'm not a girl, he treats me like I'm one. But I don't mind. I'm bulky, but Noah is bulkier, so it's clear than he's the one 'wearing the pants'.
We head to the kitchen area, where Mom and Richard are. When we get there, they are lovey-dovey with each other. Richard is planting kisses all over my mom's face. I resist the urge to gag, because it'd be rude. Noah grimaces and rolls his eyes at them.
"Mom, Dad, we're going to go." Noah says nonchalantly.
Richard eyes us, and a smile tugs on his lips. This man really looks like his son. They are very much same. Richard is just the older version of Noah.
"I'm happy you guys are getting along so well now," he says as he gives as a thumbs up.
"Oh, my sons dressed so well," says Mom teasingly as she grabs something in her pocket. A cellphone. "Let me take a picture!"
Noah immediately drapes his arm over my shoulders and pushes me to his side, squeezing me as he grins at the camera. I smile, too, ignoring Noah's grip.
The flash of the camera lights up, then the cellphone makes a 'snap' sound, indicating the picture of is grinning is now taken.
"Well, have fun, guys! Don't drink too much alcohol!" Genny scolds us, her tone is firm and demanding, but it's also soft. With care. With love.
"Don't worry, mom, we won't." Noah says as he grabs my hand, which makes my skin burn with tingling sensation as our skins make contact.
He leads me to his car. I get in the passenger's seat and he gets in the driver's seat. Noah puts the key in the ignition, and the car roars to life, purring a soft purr as the light inside his car goes on. He gives me a stunning smile as he grabs the clutch and pulls off the driveway. And in a mtter of minutes, we're on the dim-lit road, R5's Here Comes Forever blasting through the looking-luxurious speakers.
Absentmindedly, as if our hands have their minds of its own, our fingers twitch, and slowly getting tangled from each other. Noah's hand is warm, and I can feel the heat of it passing through our entwined hands, to me.
A smile tugs on my lips as I look outside, the trees and houses become a blur as it passes us, caused by Noah's driving speed.
"This will be the best date I will ever have," says Noah softly. I nod at him, smiling like a little kid.
Noah can be a total mushy sometimes. I'm glad that I'm the only one who can bring that side out of him. Chelsie just used - uses - Noah for sex. But I know that she's really in love with Noah. But she's not satisfied, because she cheated on Noah with his best friend Mike. Noah has already forgotten it, about Chelsie cheating on him. If you really love someone, regardless of anything, you'd do anything for it, to be with the person you love. But Chelsie did the complete opposite. She destroyed it. She, somehow, destroyed Noah. But I'm fixing him. If I need to pick the pieces, and place it where it really belongs, I would totally do it without hesitation and doubt. I would do it with care and love. Chelsie is not good for him. I am. I'm really into him. I'd choose him over worst situation. But when it comes to his point of view, would he choose me over whatever reasons or situations?
The blue sky is now transitioning into a fiery one, blazing as the sun goes down. Eventually, moon will come up and eat the fire, replacing it with dark yet beautiful one.
"What are you thinking about?" asks Noah, who's squeezing my hands softly as he turns his gaze from road to me.
"Drive, Noah." I say sternly. "I still want the date to happen."
Noah chuckles at my comment and lifts my hand only to kiss the back of it. The act Noah has pulled makes my the beat of my heart stronger; like a drum banging, like a strong knock, like a volcano ready to erupt.
"Wouldn't want the date not to happen," he chirps, grinning. "I've found the perfect spot for our date. Don't want that effort for nothing."
"So it's only for the efforts?" I ask, crossing my arms over my chest. I don't care if I'm being a kid, but it hits me.
"Woah, babe. Calm down, it's about - " chuckles Noah, but as soon as his phone rings, he frowns. "Hello? Chelsie! Sorry, I can't, Chels. I have important things to do tonight. No. Chelsie, listen. What? No... It's not like that... Chelsie, why would I do such a thing like that? Of course not. Chels - "
"Girlfriend not in the mood?" I say in a sarcastic tone, emphasizing the 'girlfriend' part. "Why is she calling?" I ask him, not in the mood.
"She wanted me to come there, but I refused, told her that I have plans tonight. She just went ballistic and accused me of cheating when, in the first place, she did it. I tried to make a good conversation, but she just hung up. Total bitch. Let's just forget her. She's not part of our date. Tonight is our night and moment. No one has the right to ruin this."
Almost an hour, we are now at the isolated place, where our date will happen. It's beautiful. Dark. It's all dark. I can't practically see a thing, but I can hear the soft flow of the water, the sound of the trees rustling, and the melodic hum of the gushing wind. I feel Noah's hand getting tangled with mine, but my eyes are trained on the dark surroundings around me, now slowly, beautifully and magically, lighting up. The trees have small lanters, lightening up the place. The place suddenly becomes a magical place.
A soft flow of the water can be seen. The water's flow is divided into two; the one is traveling to the left, and the other one is traveling to the right. The water is being seperated by a big flat rock, causing the water to be ripped in halft and travel on either ways.
Noah takes my hand and leads me to the big flat rock, where a table for two is set. The tablecloth is light blue, two plates are on the table, gleaming. Noah pushes the chair backward and and gestures at me to sit on it. I do. Smiling at me, Noah turns on his heels and walks away, leaving me. For a moment, my mind flashes, in big letters, Noah leaving me. But to my relief, he only picks something behind a big tree, a basket, and brings it, placing it underneath the table. Leaning down, he grabs the foods and places them on the table. Fried chicken. Mashed potatoes with lots of gravy. Salad. Sweet and sour fish. They are my favourites! Noah grins at me and I squeak, practically jumping up and down.
We talk as we eat, gesturing, our hands flying at any direction. This is the best date I've ever had. The girls I've dated were a bunch of boring gals. They were all about sex and sexual stuffs. They just wanted sex from me. I haven't had a serious relationship. But that didn't stop me from having sexy with girls. But a date is a date. And a date for me means getting to know each other, turns into a relationship, then bam, a person who will hold your hand until forever.
"What is your favorite song?" Noah asks me out of the blue, his eyes glinting with happiness. "The sappy love song one."
"Hmm, the sappy love song..." I hum, putting a finger underneath my chin as I gaze at the beautiful dark sky. "Forevermore. My father used to sing that to mom. Why?"
"Be prepared then," he says, grinning. "Because I'm about to sing it, and expect this: I will sing it to you everyday."
He chuckles. I roll my eyes playfully at him. Noah clears his throat and begins to tune his voice. I don't know if Noah has a good voice, but if he hasn't, I'd bear with it. Because I love him.
Fucking shit.
I love Noah Gerald Sky?!
"There are times, when I just want to look at your face with the stars in the night. There are times that I just want to feel your embrace in a cold night. I just can't believe that you're mine now.
"You were just a dream that I once knew. I never thought I would be right for you. I can't just compare you with anything in this world. You're all I need to be with forevermore."
Noah's voice is as good as a freaking angel singing a holy song. So good that my mouth hangs open and my eyes nearly pops out of its socket. His voice is sweet and soft, not rough and groggy. This side of Noah, I love it. I freaking love it. I hope Noah has only sung for me. Not for Chelsie. Not for anyone. Just for me.
"All those years, I longed to hold you in my arms. I've been dreaming of you. Every night I've been watching the starts that fall out, wishing you'd be mine. I can't just believe that you're mine now.
"You were just a dream that I once knew. I never thought I would be right for you. I can't just compare you with anything in this world. You're all I need to be with forevermore.
"Time and again, there are these changes that we cannot end. As sure as time keeps going on and one, my love for you will be forevermore.
"Wishing you would be mine. I can't just believe that you were mine now.
"You were just a dream that I once knew. I never thought I would be right for you. I can't just compare you with anything in this world. As endless as forever, our love will stay forever..."
Noah looks at me straight in the eyes and my eyes well up. The lyrics, the words, the emotions through his voice, are enough to make me cry. As he looks at me, he sings softly, "You're all I need to be with forevermore..."
You're all I need to be with forevermore, Noah.
I love you.
