Summertime

I was walking in the forest by the parks, listening to the happy voices of the people around me, as I was walking I heard someone talking, "Emergency meeting at Sonics... Come on Cream we have to hurry!" I peeked through the shadows to see a two tailed fox talking to a rabbit. I wondered what sort of emergency they were talking about, so I followed them using the trees as a way to shield me. When we arrived at a house I noticed a tree I could hide in and look through the windows at the same time. I climbed the tree and looked through the window inside I could see a blue hedgehog, a white hedgehog, a cat, a bat, the bunny, the fox, and a red echidna. They didn't appear to be discussing anything, they appeared to be waiting, I looked towards the park, and I saw a little pink hedgehog running this way, when she arrived, the blue hedgehog, started the meeting.

The cat said something, and the blue hedgehogs lips read 'Shadow', great more people that hate me. The pink hedgehog stated something that made everyone turn and stare at her, which made her blush and look away. The white hedgehog said something to her and she shook her head, the blue hedgehog said something and looked annoyed, then everyone started to talk to her, I guess they were describing me to her, the blue hedgehog said something, everyone nodded except the little hedgehog, she raised her hand, she stated something that made everyone stare at her again, she said more, hold on it kinda looks like she is... Defending me? The blue hedgehog tossed her a folder full of... My pictures. The blue hedgehog said something to her, she hesitated, then nodded, everybody started to leave, uh oh...

I chaos controlled onto the roof as they walked right under my old hiding spot, the blue hedgehog raced off, while the rest of the people left in twos, one boy, one girl. All that was left was the pink one. She sighed and walked towards the park, I felt like a stalker for following her, but I have to know what happened in there...

When she was halfway through the park she headed right for me in the woods, at first I thought she saw me, I crouched watching her walk right past me. What the???

She kept walking, each step she took was a step of confidence, her head held high. She continued walking like this till she was in a small clearing, with a small waterfall that gurgled into a small stream, everything in this clearing is small, except for a large boulder that sat next to the stream. She climbed onto it and pulled out a small book and a pen. She started to write in it. She must be writing about the group meeting...

I climbed a tree behind her so I could read over her shoulder. She wrote...

Dear diary,

Sonic had a meeting about a hedgehog named Shadow, they said rumors about him and showed me pictures of him, the description of him they gave me matched the pictures, he had a chaos emerald like they said, but the personality they made him seem didn't match the photos. His eyes were so sad... I literally wanted to reach in the photo and hug him, to show him at least one person doesn't think he is evil.

Why does the world do that? Society's made the world have to follow their rules and their morals. They made it seem like that if you think unlike them you aren't part of their democracy. One example is they made Christianity seem weak, that if you follow God you are weak. I met a guy yesterday who was walking out of a church and dang was he buff, he even had an eight pack!

Ok sorry back to the Shadow incident. Anyway I wanted to disagree with my friends be honest with them, but really the only reason I agreed because Sonic asked me. I wish I could understand why he doesn't ask me out, he'd rather eat chilly dogs than hang out with me...

Maybe I'm being childish for chasing after him... But who wouldn't he's SONIC for crying out loud!!! Who wouldn't want him to be your hero, your dream boy...

She put down the book on the rock and laid her head back watching the light dance through the trees. After a while she fell asleep, her light snores mixing with the gurgling of the stream. I jumped down silently next to her, and looked down on her sleeping form. She seemed so peaceful, so carefree. She understood what I was going through. A feeling arouse in my chest... Protection. I wanted to protect her... The only girl who doesn't see me as evil. Amy.

Christmas Eve

I was walking in the park, nobody was out. They were all enjoying themselves at parties or celebrating with friends and family. I was enjoying my freedom of not having to hide myself in the trees. A wind would breeze by every now and then, making little snow whirlwinds, as I was watching I ran into something or rather someone who was holding presents, she stumbled back a little trying to regain her footing as the gifts she was holding tumbled off of her stack that she was holding. I quickly snatched them from hitting the ground.

"Oh my gosh, thank you!" She gasped.

"No problem, I'm sorry I bumped into you." Technically I'm not, it was the same girl from the woods, I'm glad I ran into her. Instead of someone else who would of called for help...

"No I'm the one who should be sorry," She said "I wasn't watching where I was going."

"Neither was I." I chuckled, I noticed her trying to look around the remaining gifts to see me... "Here," I placed the gifts I caught back onto the pile

"Thank you." Amy said with a smile in her voice.

"Welcome, where are you taking all of this?" I asked.

"To my friends Christmas party, where are you going, to your friends and family?"

"No, I don't have any friends... Or family..." That hit me in the gut hard, maybe someday I could have friends like her, but that will probably never happen.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you..." She said with worry.

"It's okay." A not so gentle breeze pushed at Amy and the Shadow, Amy managed to hold all the presents, but her scarf blew away, and Shadow realized that she was shivering.

"Oh no!" Exclaimed Amy. "What am I going to tell Blaze, when I arrive and I'm not wearing her scarf, that she gave me..." I noticed her shivering again, uh oh... I untied my scarf off my neck.

"Oh, here..." I walked around her and placed my scarf around her neck, "Don't want you to catch cold."

"What about you? You need it too." She said as I gently tied it around her neck.

"It's okay, I don't feel the cold as much." What was I supposed to tell her that I am protecting her because she is the only person who thinks I'm not evil? I noticed her trying to look out the corner of her eye to see me again. "Consider it a Christmas gift from the guy who saved your friends presents from falling into the snow." She giggled which made me smile for making her happy, I walked back to Amy's front.

"What's your name?" She asked... Shoot me now please! I can't tell her my full name, maybe I can shorten it?

"Shad." Please work... Please work... Please work...

"Shadow," Oh No! She figured out who I am! "My name is Amy. Oh here my gift to you," Ohhhhhhhh, she said Shad oh, not Shadow, I'm such a dork. She stood on one leg using her knee to hold the gifts up, making her kinda look like one of those pink birds I saw at the zoo, while she reached into a bag near the top.

"I don't need anything. You can keep..." I stopped talking when she brought out a huge cookie. I haven't had one of those in who knows how many years, a little bit of drools started to slide out of my mouth, I wiped it away with the back of my hand.

"Are you sure? I made them myself." She held the cookie out to me... It looks so good...

"I guess I'll take it." I carefully took the cookie out of her small hand.

"You can have more if you want, if you want to go to my friends party with me." I was shocked, she repositioned herself so she was standing again. She wanted me to come with her??? I would have said yes right away, but her friends as I saw in their one get together they didn't like me.

"Na I'm good."

"Are you sure? No one should be alone on Christmas." No one except me...

"I'm sure, thanks for the offer though."

"Your welcome, if you change your mind follow my footsteps."

"Okay goodbye Amy, Merry Christmas."

"Merry Christmas Shad." I watched her walk her away, I hope she makes it to her friends house on time... I walked the way she came thinking of how great it would of been if she didn't have the presents in front of her face, and she showed that much kindness to me... It would never happen... I took a bite of her cookie... WOW!!! This tastes AMAZING! I scarfed down the rest of it savoring the flavor...

I kinda wished I saved that cookie, to savor it longer... Oh well. I continued walking trying to remember every last detail of her, a new feeling arouse in my chest, is this... LOVE????? I can't love her... Love at first sight only exists in fairy tales...right? I'm going to have to find a way to squash this emotion before something bad happens... I continued walking until I saw a green scarf on not so green bush... Amy's scarf... I still might have some time... I snatched it off the bush and ran after her...

Five minutes later I see her kicking a door then entering it... Darn it! Wait? Is this the same house I followed her from? I looked at the tree... It is... I chaos controlled into the tree, what's great about this tree is you can see in both the kitchen and the living room, I watched as they opened gifts one at a time, they laughed at the silver hedgehogs reaction, and I guess they thanked each other every now and then, then this squirrel girl opened a card and hugged a blue hedgehog, who hugged back, everyone looked happy and stared to clap and cheer, everyone that is except Amy... She looked like she was going to cry...

That blue hedgehog must have been Sonic... Everyone continued opening gifts, when Sonic open a gift from Amy I guess, a scarf, when she looked away he stuffed it into the trash pile... That Jerk! He acted like nothing even happened! I should just run in there and smack him in the face! But I can't... After a while and everyone had finished opening gifts, it looked like they were playing a game, a little bunny got up and quickly picked up trash and ran it outside, after she did that I found the scarf, time for a little fun... I was nearly caught when the white hedgehog threw the red echidna out. He ran back in, I went back in the tree. Sonic and squirrel girl left the room, a minute or two later they came back embarrassed.

Sonic looked at Amy, then everyone gasped... What is happening! She reached into one of her bags, then got up and left, she returned wearing a bikini... Then she exited the house and sat in the snow, while Sonic evilly smirked, he closed the doors then drew the curtains, she brought her knees into her chest and warped her arms around them, she shivered, about five minutes later she was still sitting there, her shivering nonstop...

I can't take it anymore!!! I silently chaos controlled next to her, she didn't even flinch, I unzipped my coat and zipped it up around her small frame, then I took out her scarf out of the coat pocket and tied it loosely around her neck, her ears quivered from the cold so I took off my hat and carefully placed it on her head. Her shivering lessened.

I sat down in the snow beside her and warped my arms around her in a warm embrace. It was partly to keep her warm, and partly to keep me from freezing. A short while later I heard someone from inside in a muffled voice say "Time!" Uh oh... I quickly went back into my tree as Sonic exited and said "Alright Amy times up, how..." He paused, "You cheated!" Oh dear... What am I going to do?
