Biana POV
I felt as if I were burning, my skin crawling with pain, but I refused to give them the satisfaction of hearing my screams. I bit down on my lip so hard I could taste blood. Dex would be next, he needed to escape.
I tried to look over too him, but my vision was blurring. I could've sworn that he was running towards me. No, it was dangerous.
"Go away," I screamed, letting out all the pain with it. The cloth was dropped next to me, but the heat radiating from it was still enough to slowly start burning the side of my leg.
Dex was fighting the ogres. There were only two now, but they were twice his size. He probably didn't even have a weapon.
I suppose you could say what he did was a surprise attack, so he had the upper hand in the beginning, as he started to punch and kick at them. Or I think that's what he was doing...
But then the ogre sent him back, flying, which a punch to his stomach. For a second I thought I saw blood, but I couldn't tell.
I was in haze, and all that kept me awake was the fact that Dex could die.
I heard something bullets. It must've been his gun. That means he got his weapon from them, that means he could win. Dec had made many custom made weapons, he made a lash kinda chain thingy for me, and I was currently wearing it as a belt. If I took it out it would just look like a typical chain, but I could move this at my free will, and it goes any direction, or any way I think of. Oh, did I mention that it only works for me? It's super cool. He was still working on one for Sophie, though, knowing her she would probably be perfectly fine without a weapon too.
Sophie was the one that gave Dex the ideas, apparently they were ideas from the forbidden cities.
Dex's weapon was the opposite of the shadow sword he made for my brother. His was something that took light energy and formed it into bullets. It literally hit at the speed of light, and if must've hurt a lot.
Dex, do your best, I thought, my eyes closing, and my eyelids heavy. And with the last bit of energy I had, I said, "I love you," quietly.

Dex POV

I didn't stand a chance, honestly. I went at the ogres though, so now I had no choice but to fight. As I kicked up, I purposefully missed so that the gun at the side of his belt would fly up. And by my calculations there was a fifty percent chance that one of us would be hit by the bullet that was caused by the guns fall. I was faster than them, and I was able to get to my weapon. Maybe I'm not gonna lose so badly.
I shot my gun at one of them just as a trial, and he dodged it with a quick slide to the right. One came up and was trying to punch me. Close combat isn't good when your opponent has a gun. So as I steadied the pistol looking thing, it was suddenly slapped out of my hand with an ogre who was behind me. Shoot.
Quick. Get out of here. Quick please get away, I heard a faint voice in my head. It wasn't my own, yet it wasn't Biana's, my head started to spin and I obeyed. Without thinking I made the worst choice of my life. I ran. I betrayed her. I left her. Never will I forgive myself never shall anything pay for the crime I had committed, and after I realized what was to come I was in tears. For that was the last time I knew I would see her.

Super short chapter, I'm really sorry for how bad it is. But this story isn't going to be ending soon cuz I have writers block and I don't want to write a second book. It's been a bit over a year since I've read the books so I barely remember anything about them and yeah. The school year is coming to an end so I'm going to be pausing on this story for a while, and I'll pick back up in the summer. Thank you all for reading, and thank you all for your support!!!!!
