Chapter 2
Thanks SO much for reading my last chapter and still continuing. Please let me know what you think!! I forgot Tam and Linh in the last chapter, but they'll be here now. So I hope you like this chapter! ;)
Keefe POV
Why couldn't she just see it? I was making it obvious on purpose. I loved her. I tried so hard to forget her for so long, but I just couldn't. She was so special, unique and mysterious...
I didn't know I she felt the same way though. I should know, with being and empath and all, but sometimes I get those vibes that make me feel like she likes me, other times, it's like she loves me as a friend. I could settle for both, but sometimes I really just want her to know. Four years. And I've crushed on her hard every single day.
Three days ago, Sophie and Biana had called me, and we decided to get our Match Making scrolls.
I couldn't help but think to myself that I wanted Sophie on my list.
Sophie seemed to like Fitz though. When we were both near my best friend, I could always feel the awe and jumble of emotions from her, and I knew she liked him more than she liked me.
Another thing I knew because of my ability, is that Fitz didn't see Sophie the same way, he thought of her as a little sister.
I heard a knock, and Sophie's voice.
"Keefe, can I come in?" I just realized that I had to get dressed, and replied no. She waited outside for a while, and I changed extra slow, just to see if she would wait for me. "Are you sure this isn't a prank?"
"I'm changing, gosh, Foster. I didn't know you wanted to see me that bad."
I could tell she was blushing, and I could feel her impatience growing. I moved to the door and swung it open.
"What took you so long?"
"What, you think I wake up with this perfection of hair?" I saw her blush, and I felt a wave of emotions. She was staring and quickly glanced away when I caught her. Oh, shoot. I didn't realize that I didn't have a tunic on.
"One sec..." I replied running to my closet, scurrying through my clothes.
I returned and still found her staring. "Foster, it's rude to stare. Unless it's me, if I were you, I couldn't help myself either."
Her face heated up, the color of Crimson, as red as the tunic she was wearing. Wow, she looked so pretty in red. "Well why are you here? Other than for the wonderfulness of my presence."
She rolled her eyes, "Well, everyone else is busy, and Biana won't stop talking about the scrolls, and it's becoming sorta annoying"
"So you are here for me," I said with a smirk.
"I guess."
"So what do you wanna do?"
"Do you want to go somewhere?"
"Did Foster just as me out on a date?"
She blushed again, and let out an exasperated sigh. "No, I want to just hang out with you."
I'm good at lying and hiding my feelings, so I swallowed my disappointment.
"Want to go see Tam and Linh?"
"Bangs Boy, and that pretty girl?" I asked. The guy was annoying, but his sister wasn't that bad...
I felt a wave of emotions from Sophie, and jealousy was one of them. All the ladies love the Keefster. He thought to himself.
Then he turned around. Maybe that jealousy wasn't targeted at him. He saw Fitz walking with Lihn, but Sophie hadn't seemed to notice. Maybe she already did, and just decided to look away.
She deserved to know anyways, so I tapped her shoulder and pointed towards Fitz.
She turned around, and her eyes widened in surprise, I could feel the shock radiating from her, soon replaced with jealousy and anger.
"So that's why he was too busy," she muttered.
We were still watching them, as Lihn stood on her toes and kissed his cheek. She left, and Fitz turned our direction as we quickly turned away.
"Hey, Sophie, Keefe, what are you doing together here? Am I interrupting anything, umm, important?"
I could tell he meant romantic, not important by the way he said it.
"No! Why does everyone thing that?" Sophie asked.
"Maybe because you two are alone walking around?" Fitz suggested, which made Sophie blush. She was cute when she blushed.
"So want to go to Everglen?"
"Yeah," Sophie replied. I wanted to go, but I had a question first. I put a hand on Fitz shoulder waiting to get a reaction as I said, "so you and Lihn?"
He seemed surprised then I honestly don't know what feeling.
"We're just friends, like you and Sophie."
Wow. Dude, that sorta hit hard. He knew I liked her. So does that mean he likes Lihn? Or does he like Sophie...
When we got to Everglen, I saw that Biana was back, from wherever she went.
"Hey, guys, Keefe," she said sweetly. She was a cute girl. "So wanna go apply for our Match Making scrolls?"
We all agreed, and Sophie impartered Dex, telling him to come to Everglen.
We waited for him, and right when he came in, I saw Biana blushing, and Dex looking at Sophie. In love with his own cousin, poor boy.
We leaped to the place where you apply for your scrolls and stood at the back of the line. Match Making was popular today.
I also noticed that Sophie was at the front, followed by Dex, followed by Fitz, then me then Biana.
I tried to ignore it, but I always felt those vibes that made me look at her with different eyes. She was a pretty, smart, precious girl, and sometimes I felt that little flutter in my stomach, like the one I have every time I see Sophie.
She noticed me staring, and a look of pride fell on her face, as I turned away, slowly, but not without showing her my 'trademark smirk' as they say.
It was finally our turn and it felt like FORVER, but one by one, we all applied.
I knew we all had that one person in mind we wanted, though.
"You will get your lists sometime next week," he had said.
Biana let the groan that the rest of us held in. A week? Well that's where my patience comes in... Well all the patience I have, which is not a lot, by the way.
I couldn't help but keep my fingers crossed, and I bet I could say the same for the others. We were slowly walking back when I felt a tap on my shoulder.
I looked around and Fitz pulled me aside.
"We need to talk. Spend the night at Everglen. Please?" He asked, his real eyes shining.
"Okay," I said, curious about what would make Fitz so desperate to talk to me.
That night when Fitz and I were alone in his room he asked, "You love her don't you."
It wasn't a question. It was a statement. "Who?"
"Sophie. I thought you were joking that one day. Now I see you really love her."
Was that remorse coming from him?
"Yeah, I guess."
"What about my sister?"
"Biana? She's sweet and all-"
I was cut of by the squeaking of the door, as it opened. Oh, no. She heard us.
So that's the end of chapter 2! There's going to be increasing drama, and I can't wait to bring Tam in, but first I have a little contest.
Well, since we're all KOTLC fans, I know that you all must have that one favorite boy from this series.
So pick either Dex, Fitz, Keefe, or Tam, and comment them, a name you want to go by , and a number 10-49. So thanks for reading and I hoped you liked it!!
