Keefe POV
Why were they dead? Was Sophie back already? Why was I even seeing this? I couldn't open my eyes, and the image wouldn't leave my sight. Why? was I dreaming? Was I alive, even? Heck, what was even happening?
The image caused me to panic, and I told myself that it wasn't real. I didn't believe me though, and I continued the racing thoughts and questions going through my mind.
I felt a sharp pain in my arms I tried to move and I instantly moved back to my regular position. Voices started to slowly fade into my senses, as I was able to reach my bearings.
"His heartbeat, it's changing. He's waking up."
"He still can't understand us, though," am I correct?" A deep, rough man's voice stated.
"Yes, I suppose," another replied.
"Stab the needle in him though to make sure. We don't need any interferences."
What?
"Now hand me the chip."
Chip?
A burning sensation started to overcome me beginning at the side of my neck. It was as if my skin had been torn open, and it took my every ounce of will to keep my hand from moving to the pain.
I felt hands brush near the area where there was a lot of pain, and something cold touched my skin. More pain. I felt a needle stab me on my arm, as the pain, and my consciousness both faded away.
There was only one thing I could catch before that though. "His new power...think he can handle it?"
Fitz POV
Where are they? Where's Biana? Where's Dex? I couldn't let myself think the worst. The ogres couldn't have gotten to them, they couldn't die. No. They're both strong, they can handle themselves.
I didn't believe any of that though. I looked over to see everyone huddling in different places not dating to breathe, hiding from the knocks that were being heard from the metal door.
They're here.
It wasn't really knocking, it was more like they were trying to pound the door open, and I had a strong urge to use telepathy. Even if I were to, though, the ogres would tell that someone was invading their mind and our locations would be given away.
I felt weak and powerless as I moved closer to the wall, and I was scared. Sophie, please. If you hear me, answer. We need you.
A louder push came, and the door came slamming down. No one dared to take even a single breath, including myself, as we watched intently from our hiding spots, our eyes glued.
The ogres came rushing in. Two, four, no six. Six ogres looked around the area in search for us. One started to approach the area with tons of children including Dex's siblings, and I, without thinking of course, made the slightest amount of noise. It was enough to gain they're attention though, and I readied my weapon. It looked like a sword, but it fed off of, and was powered by shadows, weird right? But Dex made all these different types of weapons and whatnot, so.
My sword was black, and it was jeweled with teal stones, and a metal hilt painted silver. I carved my name into it in my free time, and the sheath was metal with a black outer fabric made of leather. There was another row of teal stones at the top of it, and the sword was truly a masterpiece. I mean, I did help make it, so of course I would be proud. The blade on the other hand, displayed a dark, gloomy aura and it gave off a black mist. Not too much, but it was noticeable. It could also pretty much cut through anything, and I was confident in defeating the ogres with it. They were close, they were super close.
And they attacked me.
***
I wasn't the one found. A few minutes later while I was fighting the ogre that attacked me, multiple elves were found and currently chaos had started rising. Bloody mess, and Linh kept on trying to flood the area as Tam had to hold her back. Flooding an underground area wasn't the best choice after all. I had cut through two goblins, by the time I heard children's screams, and I had rushed over to them. An ogre that had a weapon...
"Run," I yelled at the kids, as my sword deflected the goblin stars he was aiming at the children. "Don't look over there, your fight is with me."
I looked into the ogres eye and I realized one thing. This wasn't just any ogre... I was fighting the ogre King.
