Chapter 17

Can I just say, thank you all for reading my story even though it's so horrible!!

Thanks again, I hope you like this horrible unplanned out story so far. I really should change the title.

Dex's POV

"We should head back," I hear Biana say.
"Yeah," I replied, my head swimming with thoughts. Right now I had just thought that I had heard a child's yell. I looked at Biana, and judging by her look she hadn't heard it. Maybe I was imagining things...
"Dex." I heard, as I sharply turned around. "Dex, what are you doing?"
It was just Biana. Maybe I just need sleep?
"I don't know," I replied slowly. "I thought I heard something." It was like those earth people's horror movies where you knew there was some bugs monster and there was that ominous tone to the wind, the kind that send shivers down your spine.
Then I suddenly felt hot breath at my ear, and I jumped, ready to scream as I heard a soft voice say, "boo," then break out laughing.
"Biana!" I yelled, my heart pounding fast.
She was still laughing, and I couldn't help but smile. If only we could stay a couple...
"Biana, there's something I need to tell you." She started to calm down, but still randomly bursting in laughter.
"What is it?"
"About the scrolls," I paused not knowing how to word it. But just as if it were on cue, just like those horror movies, I heard the scream again. "Those screams..." Biana started. I nodded.
"You go back I'll see what it is," I said not willing to let her risk anything.
"What? No, I'm the vanisher here," she replied a slight determination built in her voice as if she was ready to start an argument.
"Biana, it's dangerous here."
"You wanna fight me?" She asked, but then a deep blush appearing on her face. Oh, I forgot. She was copying her favorite elf, Keefe Sencen. I wonder where he was but I bet he was alright. He was on "his Foster's" trail after all.
"So are we going or..." Biana asked, and it looked as if she was dismissing current thoughts, I didn't need to be s telepath to know that it was probably around the same as mine.
We heard the screams again and started racing.
It was probably around a ten minute run, and by the time we got there, there was no one. Nothing but a small splatter of blood across the grass and what looked like a bone. That's disturbing...
"Biana," I whispered. "Vanish. Now."
"What?" She questioned.
But instead of answering I ran and hid near a bush, big enough to hide me, as Biana turned invisible.
Maybe I was wrong, maybe I wasn't but better safe then sorry, because I though I heard the slightest sound of footsteps. Heavy footsteps.
"Dex," Biana whispered from behind, startling me.
"Shh," I whispered back as the footsteps got closer. A twig broke and I felt her hand on my arm tighten. I was worried, for her, for me, for the elves. Ogres were stronger than we were, and we didn't have our strongest elves. So I did the most I could do, put a reassuring pat on Biana's hand and pull out the solar powered light gun I had. Sophie said it would be a good thing to make after the Neverseen event incase something worse could happen, and who thought this would be the case?
The Black Swan, the people who taught us so much, the people we know so little about.
A large beast shaped shadow appeared and out of it the ogres appeared. They had horrible sight, but great sense of smell, which I had temporarily forgot during this oh so lovely crisis. Go me.
Do you ever look back at yourself and think 'was a really like that' and cringe?  Well I do.
Okay, now's not the time, I know. Back to topic...
Well for one thing my heart started beating super fast, and I'm pretty sure Biana cut the blood circulation off my arm, but that was the least of our problems. The ogres were here, they were going to find us, we were going to die. In the quietness even my breath was too loud and and I tried to be even quieter.
"Mayte, they're over there," he said point to a bush.
Shoot.
"Biana, run."
"No!"
"Please, Biana, if one of us makes it it's going to be you. I can keep them long enough for you to run."
She lightly hit me on the backside of my head and said "it's too late now."
I turned around to see an ogre looming over me. They need breath mints, honestly.
I was grabbed, before I could react, and thrown to the other ogre. I got punched in my stomach quite hard and it took all my energy not to pass out. I might have vomited just a bit though...
"Dex!" Biana screamed. Internal facepalm. I did love her, but that wasn't the umm, smartest move.
The ogre came at her, and she turned visible again, running towards me.
I heard her curse, and the ogre caught her.
*****
I was let alone, and told that if I moved Biana and I would get killed. My light gun had been taken away from me, and I was weaponless.
Biana on the other hand was tied to a table turned sideways, arms and legs apart.
I didn't know much on how to speak ogre, but I was recently studying, and what I heard I did not like.
They pushed up her shirt slightly revealing a bit of skin up until her belly button.
"Don't you dare touch her," I threatened them.
And what I saw next still scares me, a black cloth. A simple black cloth, and what it did was something not written in my studies. They placed it on her skin and she let out a terrifying scream. It was removed and I saw a red mark on her stomach as if she had been burned. They placed it again, and I heard louder screaming. No. No. No. I wasn't going to let this happen. I don't want this. Sophie... It was like when they had tortured her and I had to watch her scream. The screams I can't forget to this day. I don't want it to happen again.
And what I did next was probably the stupidest thing in my life. I charged at the ogre, with all I had.

So this is important:

The title of this book will change. I will be changing the cover and the title soon, so it's the same book just a different title and cover.

Well the reason I'm changing the title is because, okay so I originally wanted a single book about scrolls and drama. But the thing is I can't write like that, so I'm planning to finish my first book soon. I will have a sequel to this book and it will be called Scroll Chaos. I hope it's not too confusing but it will focus more on scrolls.

If everything goes as planned this book will be done at chapter 23, but as you can see, nothing ever goes as planned for me.

Thanks for reading you're all great! bye!!!
