14| its over
I still can't believe it's over. It's been a couple of days since Evie broke up with me. My family all went back home already. I can't tell Shawn about this, I can't. Knowing him, he'll immediately feel terrible and think it's all his fault.
I must play it cool, act like nothing happened. He won't even notice.
I decide to open musical.ly, because I know that watching some of Shawn's will cheer me up. I stalk his page, smiling at how bad he is, but he looks cute doing it.
There is only 3 weeks until the tour. I can't wait. But I still feel sad knowing that because of this, Evie broke up with me.
I decide to go for a walk to Shawn's house. It's about a 20 minute walk, so it should clear my head a bit.
"Mom, I'm walking to Shawns!"
"Ok sweetie, are you sure you don't want a drive?"
"No, mom, I need to clear my head. Thanks anyways."
"Is everything okay?" She asks, worriedly. That's when I realize that I haven't told her yet. I start to feel tears well up in my eyes.
"No, mom. Everything is not okay. Everything is terrible." I cry into her shoulder. "Evie broke up with me."
"What?" She gasps. "Why?"
"She says... that... that I spend too much time with S-shawn and until I l-learn how to make my b-bestfriend just as important as my boyfriend, we c-can't be f-friends. It was after I told her about the t-tour, and she got m-mad because I didn't tell her sooner and she will be all alone when I'm away."
"Aw, it's okay. You don't deserve this. You are new to this whole boyfriend thing, and it will take you some time to figure it out."
"Yeah."
"Well you go have a good time at Shawn's. Get this off your mind."
"Thanks mom."
Once I arrive at Shawn's house, I knock, and Aaliyah opens the door.
"Hi Aaliyah!" I say excitedly. "Is Shawn here?"
"Yes, he's upstairs, Allie. Come on in!"
"Thank you!"
I take off my coat and my uggs and walk upstairs to his room. The door is closed, but on the door is a piece of paper that says:
Do not enter, recording in progress.
(unless you're Allie)
Awe! I get special permission! That's so sweet. I knock on the door.
"Read the sign!!!" Shawn shouts from inside.
"Um, I did."
He opens the door. "Oh, Allie it's you! Sorry baby girl."
"No probkem." I laugh. "I get special permission?"
"Well, um, yeah. I can't pass up a perfect opportunity to see you!"
"Aw, babe that's so sweet."
"So what's up?"
"I just wanted to see you, is that a problem?" I question with a giggle.
"Definitely not." He pokes me in the stomach.
"You turd!" I laugh, slapping his hand and poking him back.
He laughs. "So how are you and your friend? Evelyn, is it? You haven't talked much lately, is everything okay?"
Why did he have to ask this? He never asks about her. I feel the tears coming once again.
"Baby girl, what's wrong? What happened? Do I need to beat someone up?"
I giggle through the tears. "No, um, I wasn't going to tell you, but..."
"You know you can tell me anything. Come here." He says, sitting on his bed and holding out his arms. I walk over and he pulls me up onto his lap sideways, my head rests on his chest.
"It's just, well... She broke up with me." I say, as tears continue to spill out. "She said that I spend too much time with you, and she said that until I learn to make her just as important as you, we aren't friends anymore."
"Oh no, baby girl, I never meant for this to happen. I'm so sorry, this is all my fault." He says, intertwining our fingers. I can hear the hurt in his voice, too. "I can't believe I was so selfish as to stop you from spending time with your best friend."
"No, Shawn, stop. This is not your fault. She made her own decision, and I have been busy. Between Christmas, and my family, and Justine, it's my fault for not telling her everything right away. I should've seen this coming."
"You really don't deserve this. She should stop being so selfish and try to see things from your point of view. Can I ask how it happened?"
"After you were at my house the other day, I called her because I wanted to talk to her about christmas, and the tour, and stuff. When I told her about the tour, she got all hurt and offended saying that she'll miss me so much then she just... broke up with me."
"That's terrible. I'm so so sorry this happened." He says, stroking my hair. "Is there something I can do to repay you?"
"Always." I giggle. "But I told you, this isn't your-"
Suddenly, his lips are on mine in a deep, passionate kiss.

After watching Netflix for hours in his room and throwing popcorn into each other's mouths, we start talking about how much fun this tour will be. We are both ecstatic, I have never seen him perform before.
"That reminds me, I, um, you know how I was writing before?" He asks shyly.
"Yes, of course."
"Well, I was actually writing a song for you." He smiles, that utterly adorable smile that I can't get enough of. "I had just finished it before you came. Would you like to hear it?"
"Are you kidding? I'd love to hear it, Mendes." I smile.
"Okay."
He grabs his guitar from its stand where it sits, and he sits beside me on the bed.
"This song is called A Little Too Much."
And then he starts singing.
"She would not show that she was afraid,
but being and feeling alone was too much to face,
though everyone said that she was so strong,
what they didn't know was that she could barely carry on."
I feel the tears prick my eyes again, except this time, in a happy sense. His voice sounds like an angel. The way he sings it with such passion, and the way he looks up at me with such sincerity in his eyes is too much to handle. The tears are running down my face now.
"But she knew that she would be okay,
so she didn't let it get in her way.
Sometimes it all gets a little too much,
but you've gotta realize that soon the fog will clear up.
And you don't have to be afraid,
because we're all the same,
and we know that sometimes it all gets a little too much.
She would always tell herself she could do this,
she would use no help, it would be just fine.
But when it got hard she would lose her focus,
so take my hand, it will be alright.
And she knew that she would be okay,
so she didn't let it get in her way.
Sometimes it all gets a little too much,
but you've gotta realize that soon the fog will clear up,
and you don't have to be afraid, because we're all the same,
and we know that sometimes it all gets a little too much, yeah.
A little too much, I said a little too much, woah.
Sometimes it all gets a little too much,
but you've gotta realize that soon the fog will clear up,
and you don't have to be afraid, because we're all the same,
and we know that sometimes it all gets a little too much, yeah.
Sometimes it all gets a little too much,
but you've gotta realize that soon the fog will clear up,
and you don't have to be afraid, because we're all the same,
and we know that sometimes it all gets a little too much."
He knows that I have been crying, as he kept looking at me flirtatiously throughout the song.
"Come here, baby girl." He takes off his guitar and pulls me in against his chest. He kisses the top of my head. "So you like it?" he laughs.
I laugh as well, and nod my head."Yes, thank you, thank you, thank you! It's so beautiful, I love it so so much."
"And I love you."
I pull away slowly, a shocked but happy expression on my face. "I love you too, Shawn."
And we kiss. He has mended me, fixed all of the broken parts inside of me, and made me whole again.
