13. Grocery Store Trip
◄ Pacifica Pines ►
"Pacifica, Gideon, Deuce, Wendy and Robbie... Robbie! Take those headphones off, and listen to me, you bloody skunk," yelled Bud, wagging a finger at Robbie who was rocking his head to the music he was listening to.
"Yeah?" asked Robbie, cluelessly as he took off one earbud and looked at us with an eyebrow raised.
I had woken up this morning to a Bud banging on my door and yelling both Gideon and I to get up. I woke up and dragged myself to the bathroom to freshen up, only to finally realize yesterday's events.
I had gone downstairs with a red, embarrassed face and ate my breakfast quietly. Which raised quite an uproar because I'm usually the one who's groaning and complaining every morning, and I keep yapping and I can't keep my mouth shut.
And it's worse that I had a flustered face.
"I need you, Wendy and Deuce to take care of the Shack. I'm going to go somewhere, and we need groceries! So, Gideon and Pacifica will be going to the big mall, which is just a walking distance from here, so go get the..."
Bud glanced at the list he had, and than rubbed his chin, "Milk, juice and... ehh.... and the bread. Yes, the yellow bread, okay? It has a yellow packaging, alright?"
Everyone muttered a 'yessir' and both Gideon and I marched out, with my phone and wallet in hand. Gideon glanced at me and raised a pale eyebrow.
"You alright, Paz? You look like you're burning up," he said, stopping to put a hand on my forehead. "Man, you're warm, are you sure you want to come? We can stay back," he murmured, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Nah, I'm fine," I said, shaking my head, patting my cheeks to make them colder. I walked on, with Gideon behind me.
Soft, warm lips.
Brown hair.
Dark eyes.
Argh! Forget him! He probably won't even care if you're alive! He's a murderer, a cocky one!
"Hey, Paz, we're here! Watch out, you might hit that pole!" cried Gideon, as I was about to walk into the pole he was talking about.
"Oh God, he's taking up most of my mind, I have to get him off of my - IS THAT FREE FOOD?" I muttered angrily, massaging my forehead only to widen my eyes at the free food stall that was giving out samples.
We got inside and I immediately went to the stall, like a fly attracted to a light. The guy giving them out was really... attractive.
He had red hair that was up in a quiff, and his eyes were a stormy grey, and he had bushy eyebrows that were sort of defined. Instead of asking him for a sample for Gideon and I, I had to blurt my loud mouth.
"Do you get your eyebrows done?"
The guy, who looked my age, turned around and raised an eyebrow, grinning at me.
"Yeah," he said, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Oh, cool," I said, swallowing and nodding my head. I was about to say something when an arm snaked around my waist and tingles exploded at my waist. I whipped my head to the right, about to blow up at the person.
"Hey, sugar," purred Dipper, smirking at me, tightening his arms around my waist as he stared at the boy at the stall tauntingly.
"Get off, Gleeful," I shoved him off, and surprisingly he didn't resist. I glanced back only to see Mabel grabbing Gideon's arm and Gideon panicking but going with her anyway.
I thought about going to help him, but then I let it be. I took one of the samples of the small cut pieces of chocolate KitKat, and flashed a polite grin to the attractive guy at the stall.
"Wait up, sweetheart," said Dipper, grabbing my hand (which sent even more tingles up my arm and my face flushed red). I was about to let go of his hand but then he muttered into my ear, "Did you like that guy?"
"What guy?"
"That guy."
"You're being awfully specific," I sarcastically said.
"You know," he muttered angrily, squeezing my hand the slightest bit. I can't deny that it sent sparks up my arm and made me flush even redder.
"Yeah, he's nice," I said, my voice an octave higher than before. I could hear my heart thundering loudly, fluttering every time tingles were sent up my arm.
"You barely know him! And I'm nice too, y'know," whined Dipper, as we walking towards the milk aisle.
"I don't mind, we can become friends and no, you're not," I deadpanned as I grabbed a milk and eggs, and put them in a basket. I took a left and searched for the bread with the yellow packaging.
"Oh, dearest, look! Young love!" an old lady shrieked, grabbing a hold of her clueless husbands hands as she looked at us. I glanced at our intertwined hands and quickly took my hand away from Dipper's.
He looked at me with an eyebrow raised as he put his hands in his pockets and waited for me to take the bread.
"No, um, we're not... um.. together," I whispered in a hushed tone to the lady and went back to the Bread Search with a flaming, red face. I grabbed it and ran for the cashier immediately, feeling as though my cheeks were on fire.
"Cupcake, wait up!" shouted Dipper, as I hurried over to a free line and quickly paid for my items and ran out of the grocery store as soon as I could with the bag in my hand. I stopped finally, and turned around only to meet the chest of Dipper flipping Gleeful.
"Why'd you run away?" he murmured, putting his head on my shoulder and hugging me. I could feel whales in my stomach, not butterflies, but whales.
"Gleeful, get off of me, we're not even together," I shoved him off and blurted out. I covered my mouth, embarrassed. His once lopsided smirk was now pulled into a frown and irritated face.
"Right," he said, his lips in a grim line. I could almost hear the hurt in his voice, but I quickly shook that out of my head.

"Gideon, we got to go," I said in a sing song voice, grabbing Gideon's plump arm and dragging him away from a messy Mabel. Her mascara was running down her face, but she looked gorgeous as ever.
"Gideon, I hope I see you again," cried Mabel in a love stricken voice. Gideon recoiled away from her and scurried to my side, as we walked towards the path to the Mystery Shack.
I was about to say something but then I saw something I should have prepared myself for. Dipper Gleeful flirting with another girl, who had long black hair, and long eyelashes and pretty eyes and gorgeous glasses.
My eyes stung as he turned around and gave me a cold smirk, that didn't reach up to his eyes.
"We're not together, right, Pines?" he sneered, grabbing a hold of the pretty asian girl and holding her hands.
The asian girl was Candy. Candy Chiu.
