04. The Gleeful Twins are a Handful!

Gideon Pines

"Whoa! The view from your family's factory is nuts!" I exclaimed, putting a hand above my eyes to look at the amazing view in front of me.

Both Mabel and I were now on another evening out, or as I'd like to call it 'a date'.

Ooooh, it makes me feel all tingly inside! I thought dreamily.

We were sitting on the roof of the red bricked factory, where a large chimney in a shape of a cylinder sat not far from us, blowing clouds of smoke as though it were coughing them out.

I don't remember how we got up here, it was all a blur because I had been gawking at Mabel. Don't tell her that, though.

The factory was perched on a small cliff, with a narrow path that lead up to it and the forest in front of it.

The view that we were gazing at was the forest, and the sun was setting, red bleeding out of it onto the blue canvas, also known as the sky.

"Good thing we brought our opera glasses!" we said at the same time.

We both held out golden binoculars held by a golden stick. I grinned at her and she did the same.

I looked through them and so did she, and I looked at her through them and she did the same.

We giggled and our cheeks were flustered. We both looked down at the forest and than she spoke.

"Gideon, when I'm up here looking down them little old people... I feel like I'm Queen of all I see!" she said, passion dancing like a flame in her brown eyes.

"I guess that makes you my King," she said, looking at me and winked.

"W-what?" I said, laughing as my cheeks tinged pink.

I felt as though my face felt like an oven that re-heated itself whenever Mabel was around.

"You are being so nice to me right now, quit it," I mumbled, embarrassment lacing through my words as I lightly punched her arm.

And at that moment, she looked at me, her eyes wide and I looked at her too, my eyes wide too.

"I can't quit it... I am speaking from the heart," she said softly, taking my hand and holding it up to her face.

"From the where now?" I asked goofily.

"Gideon, I've never felt this close with anyone," she confessed, looking at her hands that were now placed in her lap. "So... so close," she whispered, looking up to the now dark sky.

I was at a loss for words.

"W-what about Dipper? A-aren't you  close to him, t-too?" I stuttered with my words, and immediately my face lit up like a flame, burning red.

"Not anymore," she said, turning to look at me with a small, sad smile. My heart clenched with something incomprehensible. I hated seeing her like this, I wanted it to stop.

   "Oh."

     Again. A loss for words.

Pacifica Pines

"Stop following me, for God's sake!" I said in an exasperated tone, fed up with this brown haired mystery.

"I'm not following you," he said, suddenly appearing beside me. I jumped a feet away from him, scared.

"Oh really?" I scoffed, "Hmm... let's count, shall we?" I sneered at him as we walked through the darkening woods.

"Yesterday, you followed me into the Mystery Shack, and then you tried killing me in the kitchen, and then you kind of followed me this morning, and now this! Do you like torturing me?" I asked in an incredulous tone, as I glared daggers at the dark-haired boy.

I guess I'll fill you up on how we're here. I was walking through the woods, trying to figure out the mysteries of 'Reverse Falls'.

There were many rumors and stories that floated through this little town. It held so many secrets and I was desperate for some intel.

It seems that wherever I go, Dipper flipping Gleeful has to be there. With his laid back demeanor, and his hands shoved into his pockets and his oh-so-perfect bedhead.

Oh, and the lopsided smirk that irked me to no end!

It seems that the mentally deranged human, also known as Dipper Gleeful, thought I was gazing 'dreamily' at him. Believe me when I say it, he said that.

"Just a coincidence," he said, shrugging his shoulders nonchalantly, "Now will you stop gawking at me? I know I'm hot, but can you not?" he said in a smug tone as he swept his fingers through his hair.

"What?" I said, not believing a word I just heard. I stopped and looked at him, probably wondering if he actually thought that.

He took a step further to me, and leaned down, his intent gaze pouring into mine.

"I know that you like me, sweetheart," he whispered, his cool breath fanning my face. I immediately blushed by the proximity, but I swear that it wasn't because of him!

     I swear!

"What in the world is wrong with your head? Can't you get it through your thick skull, that I do not like you! I repeat; I do not. Like. You!" I said, stomping my foot on his.

A flash of annoyance bloomed his features as he took his boot in his hands as though he were in immense pain!

"Before you try and fall for me, I hate you and your probably fake blonde hair," he spat at me, anger etched at his features. His once icy blue eyes were now a dark brown, glaring at me ferociously.

     Wait... brown?!

"Why are your eyes brown?" I said in a suspicious tone, narrowing my eyes at him.

"You don't need to know that," his answer was hesitant but quick.

     Hmm.... suspicious.

"Oh really?" I said, a smirk making its way onto my face. I took a step towards him, a devilish grin sprouting on my lips. He took a step back, and I took a step forward. He took another step back but his back hit a tree.

He has nowhere to go, I thought, evilly cackling in my head.

"Now who's the caged bird?" I said in a taunting voice.

"I will destroy you, Pacifica Pines," he spat, but of course he muttered a few colorful string of words before disappearing completely.

"COWARD!" I screamed angrily, stomping my foot on the floor of the forest, where wet, moist leaves lay and secrets floated in the air.

I stomped my way back to the Mystery Shack, and opened the door grumpily.

"Ah, finally she's arrived," I heard a voice. It was Bud.

"Paz, dear, could you come over here?" I followed the voice, it was in the living room. I looked around, there were a lot of people.

The man with the fez was sitting on one of the chairs, and Bud opposite him. Gideon sat on the other, with Mabel across him. Gideon was gazing at Mabel, who was oblivious to it. I almost puked at the sight. Then, there was Satan.

"Why is Satan here?" I said, voicing my thoughts without thinking about it. Satan looked up at me, and gave a tight smile, but his eyes said otherwise.

Oh my God, he's actually going to kill me now.

"Pacifica, dear, please sit down, we're just making a deal with Stan here and his kids," Bud said, gesturing me to sit down on the seat across Satan.

     Oh heck no, I wasn't!

"Please, Pacifica, we wouldn't want you standing up the whole time, now would we, Paz?" Satan himself said in a smug tone.

     "Oh!" everyone chorused.

"Nickname's already?" said Bud, his eyes wide with surprise.

"Oooh, what next? The wedding," Gideon whispered to me. I gaped at him with disgust.

"Oh, thank you for worrying about me, Dipster," I said in a sickly sweet tone, as I sat on the chair and glared at him.

"Alright! To the matter itself! Pacifica, I was thinking about making a deal with Stan here," he gestured to the man in the fez and day old stubble. I nodded my head without thinking.

Then it registered into my brain.

     Wait... what deal!?
