It is a beautiful night in Vampdom. In the library Poppy is busy putting some books away. Peppy hadn't told Poppy about the new developments in the village. The mother felt it would be better for him not to know til he comes back home. Shadow and Candy walk over to him to see what he is doing. The spy smiles at the little harmless vampires. Candy grabs a piece of his clothing and pull on it making Poppy look at her.

" Why aren't you and Queen Branch a couple?",Candy asks.

The Spy almost drops the book in his hand as a surprised look appears on his face. The question had completely taken him off guard! Candy and Shadow just look up at Poppy ready to hear the answer. The little girl had let go of Poppy's clothes.

" Why aren't you dating Queen Branch?", Shadow asks.

The adult quickly puts the book down the shelf thinking about how he is going to answer them. Poppy wouldn't deny the fact that he did want to be with Branch but, they can't be together... The spy gets onto his knees bringing himself to Candy and Shadow's level. There is pure innocence in their eyes.

" It's... really complicated. Me and Branch, we can't just be together.", Poppy tries to explain.

" But,don't you love her?",Candy asks confused.

Poppy knew in his heart he is in love with Branch but,it is still felt early to say the L - word. Poppy has known Branch for about almost eight months by now. It is early November now. The spy would still dream about just spending alone time with Branch  most nights. In those dreams he was free and could be just be with her but, wasn't the reality he would wake up to.

" Maybe I do but, having a relationship like that won't make it less complicated. I don't think I can actully be with her. ", Poppy explains.

" Why can't it be more simple? Can't you make it simple?", Shadow asks confused.

" Why do you seem scared about being the Queen's boyfriend? My daddy said he thinks your "hesitant to try" whatever that means. ", Candy says honestly and confused.

In that moment Poppy starts to flashback to a time before he had left his village. Hearing the word "Hesitant" triggered something. A memory conversation. A promise he made to his friends and himself.

Poppy's flashback; two years earlier... Poppy is in a bar cause of Barb. He hanging with a bunch of his friends;Barb , Trollex, Trollbeca, Darnell and Daniel Dawn. They all work in The Strings and are team leaders. Poppy and his fellow leaders are sitting at a random booth. Each of them has a drink. Poppy's glass is the only glass still fill.

Barb is a Hard Rock troll and the leader of "Rocking Rollers".  He has a short red molehawk,pink eyes,dull light pink nose,very dull skin, a damage ear missing a part of it. He is wearing a white tank top that's a little torn,black  torn jeans, a black vest with collar and two black bracelets with spikes.

Daniel Dawn is the leader of "Race Horses." He has orange skin,white fur,big dark pink hair,light pink nose,blue eyes, a big blue horsetail. He is wearing a plad shirt, a small white cowboy and grey horse shoes.

Darnell is the leader of  " Funky Mushroom" and Coop's twin sister. She is a Hip Pop troll. She has short blue hair, light pink skin,light blue legs,dark pink nose,blue eyes, dark pink;light pink and gold fur covering the rest of her body and round ears and gold. The leader is the wearing a good star earring in his right ear and some gold in his hair.

Trollex has dark blue skin with multi - coloured little squares and pink lining on the edge on her tail. Her arms change colour from lighter dark blue to pink to red to orange to yellow to light green but, his hands are dark blue. Her ears are fin like,fish eyes are green,the inside of her mouth is light green while his teeth seem to be a bright yellow,her eyebrow is purple and her thin strands of hair is light green tied with a beaded band. She has a pink Techno heart on her chest and some light blue freckles on his cheeks. She is the leader of "Beat Drop".

Trollbeca is the leader of "Classic Masterpiece" and is a Classical troll. She has gold glittery skin,yellow gem bellybutton,big blonde hair,orange eyes, light orange nose and Classical troll wings. She is wearing  a fancy conductor's jacket.

Poppy didn't feel thirsty since he isn't exactly feeling good right now. Trollbeca takes a sip of her drink slowly. Barb,Trollbeca,Trollex, Daniel and Darnell are looking at Poppy. They know what is going on. Poppy is hestiant to give himself into a relationship.

" Dude,she was hot and clearly into you! Why didn't you ask her out?", Barb says blankly.

" I don't know... I guess I didn't like her as much. ", Poppy says unhappily.

" Ever since that Gold digger left and betrayed us ya you been acting a little different.", Daniel says honestly.

" No, I don't... It's nothing really. ", Poppy denies softly.

" No,Pop troll. Whenever it comes to dating it's like your almost scared of something... your - ",Darnell states honestly and caringly.

Darnell gets cut off by Trollbeca near the end of her sentence. The Classical troll says the word that the Hip Pop troll was going to say. It was like she was thinking the same thing.

" Hestiant... ", Trollbeca says seriously and softly.

" Your hesitant because, you don't want get your heart broken again. Aren't you?", Trollex says softly and caringly.

Poppy is silent for a brief moment and it was Trollex's answer. The Pink troll has good and understandable reason to be hesitant. It happens to trolls sometimes after they get heartbroken. Trollex frowns sadly as she puts down her glass of water. Everyone else at the table frowns too.

" I know and understand how bad heartbreak hurts but, you can't let that stop you from having love. ", Darnell says concerned and caringly.

" What if you find the right girl and you allow yourself to be so hestiant that you don't tell her how you feel? You'll lose your chance at true love. ", Trollex says caringly and softly.

Poppy let's out a small sigh with a sad look in his eyes. Trollex and Darnell are right and he knows that. He just can't stop himself from being hestiant. It's hard to ignore that fear of getting hurt again inside him.

" I know...It's hard to forget sometimes...", Poppy says sadly and softly.

" You can't be hestiant all the time. It won't help y'all ...",Daniel says caringly and seriously.

" I guess I just need to work on it...",Poppy says sadly.

" You definitely do. ", Barb says blankly.

Trollbeca frowns sadly as she looks at Poppy. Barb does care. He just isn't the type to talk about feelings. He calls them "puke".  Poppy gently scratches his left arm unhappily with head hanging low. Then he looks at up at Trollbeca when she starts talking again.

" You need something to help you push you to get over your fear... Like a promise! ", Trollbeca says thinking out loud softly.

" Yeah... Trollbeca is right. ",Daniel comments.

" Promise to ,us and especially to yourself, when you find a girl that you truly fallen in love with and want to be with you won't allow your hesitantence to stop from telling her how you feel. If she is truly worth it you will take the leap and ask her out. ",Trollex says happily.

Poppy pauses for a brief moment before saying that he makes the promise. He did it for himself. That promise was a promise he hoped he could up hold to. Then the flashback ends...

Poppy looks at the two innocent vampire children. The flashback was only a few minutes but, felt longer. In that moment Poppy wonders if maybe he was overthinking about his and Branch's relationship. Maybe he should think about this more... Shadow and Candy wait for the adult to say something quietly. Then finally the spy speaks softly and quietly again.

" Hm... Don't worry about it. I'm okay. How about you both pick a book and I'll read it while we wait for your parents and sitter to finish talking?", Poppy says softly and kindly.

Candy and Shadow happily smile at Poppy. They happily nod their heads adorably making Poppy laugh softly. Then the two adorable vampires grab his hands and pulls him both up and back into the children section happily.
