A week passed by.

Avni & Neil started to become friends again as Neil was somewhat distracted from Ashish Mehta. Avni was his distraction. They start living like a normal couple almost. Except their never ending ego clash, bickering, and challenges always stayed in the game.

Avni maintained a distance from Neil, which he hated. He Hasn't touched her for a week. She was really making him suffer by her distance. He craved for her everyday & she kept herself away.

Avni was missing her family. She decided to go visit them. To her surprise Neil also accompanied her along.

"You don't need to come. I know you just want to rub salt on his wounds." She says

"You know me so well now!" Neil says evily.

"Neil please. I just want to spend time with them without your drama." She said

"Okay fine. I'll stay quite." He replies

Avni accidentally cuts her finger while zipping her purse.

"Ouch!" She yelped in pain

Neil saw the blood oozing out of her finger and quickly grabbed her hand & sucked on it to sooth the pain.

She looks on at him innocently as she notices the caring side of Neil.

They both look at each other & have an eye lock which is broken by Avni.

They leave to Ashish mehta's residence.

Ashish Mehta was in a rage when he saw both of them. He told Avni to leave but then stopped when he saw Neil, the new owner of the house.

"Dad. You need to tell me the truth. Is it true? Did you really deceived Neil's father long ago?" Avni asks

Ashish looks at neil shocked and realizes Neil was Prakash's son.

"So this was what it was all about! Oh my god, Neil. I know you think I'm responsible for your father's death but the truth is much more than that." Ashish explains

Neil was starting to rage.

"Yes, I know the truth Ashish Mehta. You took away whatever my dad had breaking his trust!" Neil yells

"No neil! You only know half of the truth! I never wanted to do this! This wasn't my plan! Your father was a great man & I will always regret about breaking his trust Neil." Ashish says.

"Shut up! I'm not here to listen to your rubbish & lies. Your gonna pay for everything." Neil exclaims

"Neil. Please listen. You need to know why all that happened. This happened because of one man. Vidyut." Ashish Says.

"Isn't he some sort of gangster??" Asks Avni

Neil keeps listening, confused to react.

"He's not just a gangster. He's a monster. He kidnapped my wife a long time ago & blackmailed me to deceive Prakash & take over his business." Ashish Says

"I refused him. And he threatened to kill my wife. And also threatened me to not tell anyone the truth & keep living my life normally without telling anyone if I wanted my family alive. He said if I told anyone or even Prakash then he would come back & make my family suffer." Ashish explains, tearing up.

"That man is no human. And he's still out there. I don't know what issues he had with Prakash that he wanted Prakash to be destroyed. He never told me. He only demanded me to do his dirty work. I'm still afraid he would show up again to harm my family. Im so sorry Neil.. I really am...Now I understand why you married Avni. You wanted revenge by hurting me through my daughter. But you shouldn't have done that Neil. Look at her. She has lost her innocence. She's not the same Avni anymore. She has become so bitter because of you. She's become a robot with no emotion. You should have punished me directly Neil." Says ashish.

Neil stood there in silence. He couldn't believe his ears. If there really was a Vidyut then where is he? Why did he want his father to be destroyed? So many questions went through Neil's head.

Ashish hugs Avni apologizing for not listening to her.

"Avni beta. Even though I showed so much hatred towards you, you continued to protect me & my family. Even though your not my real daughter, you have proven today that every daughter should be like you." Ashish says

Neil was in utter shock. He had no words. Avni wasn't even Ashish Mehta own daughter? She was adopted? Why didn't Avni tell me he thought? And he hurt her so much without even thinking, he thought. Here she was protecting her family that rejected her. The family that adopted her. Guilt ran through Neil's body. His eyes softens & turned red at realizing where he went wrong.

"It's okay Dad. It doesn't matter anymore." Avni said in a cold tone.

She turned towards Neil.

"Neil. I know we hate each other but despite our weird relationship, I will help you find Vidyut. That doesn't mean I have feelings for you. I just want your dad to get justice. That's it. After finding Vidyut, we part ways. I don't want to see you after that. I'll pretend you never came in my life. I just want to leave & move on far away from here." Said Avni without breaking

Neil didn't have words. He didn't apologize. But this time it wasn't about his ego. He wasn't even capable of her forgiveness he thought. He didn't hate her, only if he she knew what he felt for her. The thought of her parting ways almost killed him from inside, leaving him blank.

Neil's POV

I will win your trust again Avni. I cannot let you move on & leave. I can't live without you. I'm not use to not having you around & bickering with me all day. I will make up for all the wrong I've done to you, he thinks to himself.
