I take my bed lamp in my hand to bash who ever is here to rob. This is my time to play the movie hero. I turn around in a stance read to throw the lamp but there is Liam standing with a horrified look on his face. I keep lamp feeling completely embarrassed at my antics. I open the window for him and he climbs in, keeping his had on my forehead and I swat it away.

"I thought you were some robber"

"Yes, your robber would knock on your window asking for him to let you in so he can rob you"

"Shut up. What are you doing here at 1 at night on your birthday?"

"Well I read your message and I thought why not say I love you back in presence", I feel heat rise to my cheeks as he says this. Why am I embarrassed?

"Then say it and leave because everyone is sleeping"

"I remember having this same conversation some months back as well"

"Don't change the topic. Say it"

"I thought I would be embarrassing you and but its the opposite that's happening", I just look at him, "Yes, I love you too Nyra Sharma. Now would you care and come out for a walk with me?"

"Are you out of your mind? Now?",I ask in horror.

"Yess....that's the fun. Would you not this for the birthday boy?", such a manipulator! I roll my eyes and put a pair of my joggers and walk towards the door. He yanks me back by my arm.

"What?", I yell in a hushed voice.

"Wouldn't they wake up if we left by the door? Window it is"

"What no, I am not going down through there! I don't wanna die"

"Such an over actor. You trust me right?", I nod my head.

"I won't let you 'die'", he gets down first and guides me how to slide down the pipe and as soon as I am in his reach, he lifts me and puts me down.

"My night in shining armour...", I say sarcasm dripping in my voice.

"Full of sarcasm even this late...Feisty"

"Tell me again why we are going for a walk so late when we could be both be sleeping peacefully"

"I don't mind sleeping if we sleep in the same bed.....but well we would be doing more than that"

"Who's feisty now? Seems someone is getting more and more confident each day talking about this", I tease and he gives me a fake grin. He takes my hand in his and pulls me closer to him.

"I wanted to feel this peace that you cannot feel at any other time and I wanted to this with you", this is the best thing anyone has ever said to me and I cannot hold back my smile. I pull back him from his T-shirt and kiss him and he immediately lifts me in the air. I run my through his soft and shaggy locks and he runs his thumb through my cheekbone. I pull back to look at his face and he smiles looking down at me. We continue walking down the empty streets. This is the most peaceful time, it is in total contrast to the chaos in my head. I try to focus on the gale around us, I try to catch the lightest of sounds which is only our feet. I feel Liam's eyes on the side of my head.

"What?"

"Everything", he answers simply.

"Huh?"

"You know like when people are caught staring at an empty space they say nothing, I am looking at someone who is my everything", my heart literally melts into a puddle and it goes awwwwww.

"I wanna cry. Looks like we just hit a new milestone in our relationship"

"I think we did...I am full of love. So tell me, it's been almost a year since you came here, what are you missing the most about India"

"Definitely the food and the festivals. Like every festival is full of colour and joy and they just have a different vibe celebrating them with your family"

"Give me some examples of those festivals ",he asks with such curiosity that I get excited to tell him.

"Well there is navratri I have already told you about. Then there is Ganesh Chaturathi where we worship lord Ganesh. We worship him and the best is when we bid him good-bye into the waters. It's sad but then there is a lot of dancing with with loud music with dhols . "

"No doubt you love it, there is dancing."

"Well spotted. There is also Diwali which is celebrated like 4th July with firecrackers but the reason for its celebration is different", we go on and on about all the different and crazy festivals we celebrate in India. Before we know we have already been walking for 1 and 1/2 hour talking about so many things. I never know how time passes by so quickly when I am with him.

"You are coming home tomorrow for my birthday right?"

"I thought you would want to celebrate it tomorrow with your family, so I told everyone not to go over tomorrow and I made plans with my family", his face literally drops when I say this.

"Yea cool, I want to celebrate it with them anyways. Let's go back...its too late now"

"You are not angry right?", I ask even though I know he is, "I can't cancel my plans with them at the last moment, you know how pissed my mum gets when I do that"

"Yea I know. I am not angry", we only walk 2 mins before we reach the house.

"Window again?",  I ask. I definitely didn't think this through. Getting down was so much easier, how the fuck will I climb up? I just stare at him as he tries to give me the best technique to climb up, completely clueless.

"Got it?", I still just stare at him. He pulls my hand and literally guides my legs a little up. I stand on the platform which is there midway.

"Wait, why don't you climb to the top and then I'll earn.", I whisper to him.

"Then who will catch you when you fall down?"

"I love the confidence you have in my me"

"Anytime". Dick.

I slowly try copying what I just did to get on the first platform and almost slip but I reach there without breaking a bone. And very slowly I reach the my first level and get inside my bedroom. I peep down to look at Liam if he is following me up, but he is already in his car and drives off the moment he sees me safe.

Is he pissed at me?
