20 | Shirtless

I was ready in my work attire and all my bags were packed. I grabbed my phone and walked out. Yesterday I could barely sleep after that little stunt Nicholas pulled on me. It was partly my fault I kissed him first. I don't know how these five days are going to go by. I told Violet I was going to be gone and she was more than happy not to come here.

I walked out and grabbed my bags, opening the door only to find Nicholas ready to knock. I smiled, "Good morning," I said. "Morning," he muttered, grabbing my bags. "Didn't sleep last night did you?" I asked as we walked into the elevator. He just grumbled. "Why didn't you call me?" I asked. "I disturb you almost every night," he said. "Well, me being disturbed is better than having you move around like a zombie," I said as we walked to his car.

"Stop by the Starbucks on our way," I said. He smiled. "So, how are Xavier and Robert?" I asked. "Dad's fine. He joined a golf club a few months ago so he has been going out with his friends every weekend. Xavier had the best time on the trip, but I haven't seen him since I picked him up," he said. He had the best time? Then what was wrong with Vi?

He parked the car and we both walked out. "Bella!" I looked up to find Alex. "Hi!" I said smiling. I didn't have to pick up the coffee in the morning so I rarely saw him. "Long time no see," he chuckled. "I know, please make my regular two," I said. "Hi," he said to Nicholas before going inside. Nicholas stood there glaring at me. "Who is that?" he asked. "Oh he is a friend, Alex, he owns this branch," I said.

"Why did he call you Bella?" he asked. "Nicholas, don't be childish," I said as Alex walked out with the two cups. "Thank you," I said. "Anytime," he smiled. Nicholas took out some cash and handed it to him. "See you soon," I said walking out. Nicholas placed a hand on my lower back and I looked at him but he was looking straight ahead.

We both got in and I handed him his coffee. The drive to the airport was silent and I needed that since I had to plan out his schedule. We reached the airport at 6:30 and we got out. Eric walked to us handing me the documents. "Thank you," I said, taking them from him. "Whatever," he muttered. "If you would like to keep your job, you better be polite to her," Nicholas snapped at him.

He turned around angrily, "The pleasure is all mine, Isabella," he said sarcastically. Nicholas was about to say something when I grabbed his hand. "Let's go, we have meetings to attend," I said as we walked to his jet. I remember traveling in this a hundred times. But I always used to sit in my designated seat. I had never exactly seen his entire jet.

We walked up the stairs and the pilot and Air hostess greeted us. The hostess smiled sweetly at Nicholas. "Welcome back sir," she said, almost purring. Does she know what she is doing? And that she is way too old for him? I was frozen looking at her but we were still holding each other's hands so Nicholas pulled me with him when he walked ahead.

She glared at me to which I just rolled my eyes. We sat on the large sofa seats. As the pilot made the arrangements to take off. "So this is your schedule for tomorrow once we reach," I said. Today was a Tuesday and the whole day was going to be wasted on traveling. The flight was 10 hours long and due to the time difference when we were going to reach there it was already going to be around 1 am.

I explained to him all about the investors and businessmen that were likely to attend the party. The next two hours were spent talking about what our strategy would be. "Kevin is going to be there?" I asked, looking at the name on the list. "Unfortunately," Nicholas muttered. "Rude, he is your best friend," I said. "I don't care, he is a pain in the ass," he said, yawning. "You should get some sleep," I said, getting up to grab our laptops.

When the air hostess came in. "Would you like something to eat?" she asked. Not me, she asked Nicholas. "Isabella," he said, massaging his head without even looking at her. She handed me the menu, glaring at me. "He will have um, pancakes with honey and some waffles, actually make those two," I said, handing her the card back. She nodded leaving.

"Nicholas, get some sleep after eating," I said as he scrunched his forehead trying to focus. "I have too much work pending." "I will do it," I said, walking behind his seat. I gently removed his hands from his forehead. "What are you doing?" he asked. "Shh, close your eyes for just five minutes," I said. I started massaging his head. A trick mom had taught me. Dad had frequent headaches due to his migraine. I felt him relax a little as his eyes which were closed tightly softened.

I continued massaging and he let out a breath. After a few minutes, I pulled my hands away only for him to grab them. "You know there is magic in these?" he said as he pulled me to sit beside him. "Why, thank you," I said, showing my British accent. He groaned. "Please don't use your accent," he said. I raised my eyebrows. I looked down, blushing. Then the lady brought us our food.

And we both immediately dug in. Once we were done we went back to work. We both were sitting on the seat and working when I felt him dozing off. His head fell onto my shoulder and there were goosebumps all over my body. I gently placed his laptop away. And I continued working. I called the lady and her eyes widened when she saw Nicholas. She was about to say something when I placed my finger on my lips. "Get a blanket," I whispered slowly. She nodded, walked away, and came back with a blanket. I placed it on him and he snuggled closer to my arm.

It was almost three hours when I felt Nicholas move and he slightly opened his eyes. "Good morning," I whispered. He removed his head from the crook of my shoulder and removed the blanket as he looked confused. "How long was I out for?" he asked. "Not much, three hours," I said. "Three hours! Isabella! Why didn't you wake me up?" he asked, grabbing his laptop. I rolled my eyes. He went through all the files.

"You completed everything?" he asked. "You're welcome," I said, going back to my book. He snatched it from my hand and I turned to him only to find his face inches closer to mine. "What would I do without you?" he whispered. "You would be broke," I said, smirking, trying to get the book back. "Nicholas! Give me my book back!" I said. "Do you have any other things to do?" he asked. "No?" I said.

"Great, let's watch that stupid movie of yours," he said, grabbing my hand and pulling me out of my seat. "Where are we going? And what movie?" I asked. "Get us two pizzas in the movie room," he said to the guy who was at the bar. What does he have here?

"That magic child one," he said. What the hell was a magic child? "Harry Potter?!" I was completely mad at him. "Yes," he said and opened the door to a room. "You know you just insulted him?" I asked. "I don't care," he said, sitting on the couch and pulling me with him. "You should say he was one of the youngest billionaires," I said. "I was one too, the reason I don't care," he said, switching on the huge screen.

I rolled my eyes. Can he get cockier? "Why are there so many?" he asked. "Because it is a series," I said, grabbing the remote and choosing Philosopher's Stone. The lights dimmed and we both sat back.

"So his parents are dead? Then why did he see them?" "Because of that mirror," I said, trying to concentrate. "But how can he feel their touch, that's stupid," he pointed out. "Ehhh! Nicholas! Do you want to watch something else?" I asked. "Thank you!" he said, grabbing and switching to Avengers. "Have you seen the other movies?" I asked. "I read the comics when I was young. And yes I have," he said. I chuckled going back to eating pizza. I loved the Avengers.

A few minutes into the movie I turned to find him staring at the screen, his gray eyes concentrating on the picture. He looked really into it. Cute. "I don't think the movie is playing on my face," he said, turning to me. I was caught so off guard that I almost fell off.

He smirked at me. "Am I that handsome?" he asked, moving towards me as I moved him, my cheeks were red. I reached the end of the couch and he smirked. "You can stare at me all you want. I am always with you, aren't I?" he asked his hand grabbing my waist and gently pulling me towards him. "Nicholas!" I said, trying to keep my voice as low as possible.

"Yes, Ela," he said, pulling me onto him. "What are you doing?" I asked. "Why is it bothering you?" he teased. "Nicholas? Please don't," I said, trying to control my raging hormones. "His other hand caressed my jaw as I held onto his arm. "Hmm, You look so damn hot do you know that?" he asked. "Nicholas!" I said trying to turn away from him but his hand turned my head so I was looking directly at him.

"Do you know that when you wear clothes that perfectly fit your body, what it does do to me?" he asked. "Nicholas, what are you doing? Someone is going to walk in," I said. "You know I want to fire people who look at you like you are fresh meat?" he asked. I raised my eyebrows. "You are the one to talk? Do you notice every girl thirsting over you?" I asked. "So you have your own sets of complaints," he smirked.

"Stop," I said, pushing him away and getting up blushing walking out. I heard him chuckle. He is going to be the death of me. I walked out and sat on the single-seater sofa. I took out my book but I was far from concentrating on it. A few minutes later Nicholas walked in and when he saw I was sitting there he rolled his eyes. "Very mature," he said, sitting down and grabbing his laptop.

"Thank you," I smiled. I read through the lines. I saw him stealing glances at me but I left it at that. "Isabella," he said half an hour later. "Hmm," I said, not looking up. "Get back here," he demanded. "Go back to work Nicholas," I said, turning the page. "You are sitting like that with your cute glasses on, either cross your legs or sit here," he said. I immediately crossed my legs. "You pervert!" I snapped at him. "You are wearing pants," he pointed out. "You hypocrite!" I said hitting him with a pillow.

After that the next hour I spent doing some work that was left, sorting things and getting the files and contracts ready if we want to sign some. And now I am bored. It was around seven hours into the flight. I just closed my eyes, drifting off to sleep.

I woke up to a soft material beneath and I was in another room, a bedroom. I woke up. I looked at the clock. I have been asleep for one hour. I walked out of the room to see Nicholas sitting doing something and there was food on the table that wasn't touched.

"Hi," I said sitting down beside him. "Good morning," he smiled, keeping his laptop away. "You have a bedroom here?" I asked. "Yeah," he said, grabbing the plates and handing me one. "Thanks," I said as he served the food. We talked about random things for a few minutes until we were done with dinner.

I sat down and watched a movie while he worked with god knows what. Once I was done we still had an hour to go. "Nicholas, I am very bored," I said. "What is very boring?" he asked, typing on his laptop. I rolled my eyes. I got up from my seat. "Where are you going?" he asked, grabbing my hand. I stood there staring at him.

"To find some entertainment," I said. He put the laptop down pulling me down beside him, "And where do you think you are going to find that?" he asked. His face came closer and closer to mine. "I don't know if there are people I could make friends with," I whispered.

"Ohh really?" he asked. I nodded. "Shut up and sit down," he said, turning around and grabbing his laptop. "Mean," I said, pouting. "Stop doing that," he said. "Stop what?" I was confused. He just ignored me. The rest of the time went by quickly.

Soon the plane was about to land and I could see the city lights a little and it was mostly dark. After landing we got out and a car was ready for us to go to the hotel. I had booked two rooms for us.

Fifteen minutes and we were standing in front of a beautiful hotel. We walked in and Nicholas received a phone call. He motioned for me to go forward and I grabbed the keys from the reception. I handed him one and whispered I was going ahead.

I went to my room and decided to freshen up. I took a quick shower and I was wearing leggings and an oversized t-shirt. It was really cold. I walked to the door to turn on the heater only to hear a commotion outside.

"I am going to sue you, how can you people be so stupid?" I heard a very familiar voice. "Sorry Sorry sir, but we don't know how this mistake was made. Our database was corrupted," said the other voice with a thick Greek accent. I walked out to find Nicholas and the manager. Nicholas was really mad and the manager was trying to apologize profusely.

Before Nicholas could shout anymore I walked to them. "What is the matter?" I asked, standing beside him. "This stupid idiot gave me an occupied room and they have no other room available! Call my lawyer Isabella!" Nicholas said. "Nicholas, wait," I said, trying to calm him down.

"It's okay, you are also human, mistakes happen. When will the next room be available?" I asked. "In two days," he whispered, scared. "Umm, okay please make sure you give us a room once you have one," I said. "Are you kidding me? We are moving right now. There are many hotels," Nicholas said.

"Thank you, please move his bags into my room," I said to the manager pulling Nicholas with me. "What the hell are you doing?" he snapped. "Not being moody," I said, opening the door and walking in.

"Just go freshen up," I said. "Where are we going to sleep?" he asked, removing his jacket. "The bed is large enough," I said pointing to the bed. "Wow, Isabella, I didn't know you were this bold," He smirked, taking out his tie. I blushed furiously when I understood what he meant.

"Shut up and go shower." I pushed him inside the bathroom as I heard him laugh. Soon his bags arrived and I placed them beside mine.

I sat on the bed answering some emails when the bathroom door opened. "Hi, Your bags are-" The words died in my mouth when I saw him. His perfect body was on display. He was drying his head. Small droplets on his body. His six-pack abs were in direct view. His V-line ended where his towel hung very low.

I gulped. Why is the room hot all of a sudden? I couldn't take my eyes off him. "Isabella?" he smirked looking at me, catching me in the act. I saw a man shirtless for the first time. You had to forgive me if I was dumbstruck!

"You were saying something?" He asked, walking towards me. "Right, umm, your bags are here," I pointed out. But the only problem was I didn't point to his bags, I pointed to his abs. I quickly retreated, my hand turning around. "Please wear some clothes," I said. "Why is it bothering you?" he asked. "Yes," I said, my voice strained.

I heard him chuckle and there was some shuffling. "You can look now." I turned around to him only in his sweatpants and I turned around again. "Where is your shirt?" I shrieked. "I don't sleep with a shirt on," he shrugged, walking to the bed. "Right," I said, closing my laptop.

He took the right side and I took the left. He was sleeping on his back staring at the ceiling. "Good night," I said, turning to him. I had the habit of sleeping on one side. He nodded and I closed my eyes. I didn't do anything and yet I was really tired. We had a meeting tomorrow at 8 in the morning and it was 2 right now.

It had been 5 minutes and I could feel Nicholas shuffling in his place. "You can't sleep can you?" I asked. He looked at me. "Sorry, You can't sleep because of me can you?" he asked. I grabbed his hand in mine. "Got to sleep," I said. He looked at me for a moment before holding my hand tighter and closing his eyes. I faced him and closed mine.

I would have never thought we would end up in the bed holding hands. But I wasn't complaining.
